  • Debbie has been a major influence in my life. Wonder if she wanted to be? I suspect all she ever wanted was to get.... paid.

  • The perfect song.... is this before or after "Victor"?

  • She gives me chills, she's so beautiful ! :')

  • So beautiful the song, the voice, the video, and Debbie

  • blondie

  • @2008Sameoldfitup Looooooooooooove to be on that bed with her.

  • 'look good in blue'

  • she has a very beautiful face

  • Honestly, Even though I am One of the Biggest Blondie Fans in the World!(And I'm only 17), This song is the Only Misstep they made on Eat to the Beat!!! Its not a bad song, but deserved more to be on Autoamerican, not Eat, the 2nd Best Blondie Album behind Parallel Lines!!!!! After listening to it for 4 weeks now on vinyl, I am getting to like it but it just doesn't show the Amazing Music that Blondie was making in 1978-79!!! Nice Video! May 30th!!! LOVE DEBORAH HARRY AND BLONDIE!!!

  • @msmdude68- I really like this song. A lot of music writers didn't like the style of the song (they were always trying to impose their own style preferences on the band), but to me that just makes it better. It's a sweet song.

  • @ihasch I have come around on it now after awhile but it just is not on par with the Rest of Eat to the Beat for me but still a Damn Good Song! LOVE DEBORAH HARRY!!!!!!!!!

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • I'm hypnotized

  • i love her always.

  • I've never seen a song such devoted to lips...and I've never seen lips such devoted to a song...

  • 100 BIG THUMBS UP, MAN!..... Debbie, Oh Debbie!

  • There is no one like Debbie...here she is, with primitive technology..and she is more talented, more gorgeous, more of a REAL artist, than all the rest put together.

  • It was like a fetish video :P

  • omfg

  • this song is about doing heroin, saw her in miami coconut grove , she sang this topless, talk about beautiful summer 80

  • @stalkingwolf1954 Um, what?

  • Great

  • I had a Vision

  • I had the ultimate crush on Debra Harry back then. MMMMMMMmmmmmmmm...

  • Wonderful job. Laura

  • I hope when I'm breathing my last, Thanatos comes to me bearing the appearance of Deborah Harry.

  • oh yes the most beautiful woman ever to set foot on the plannett and so tallented all her works are amazing i met her twice and she was so cool .....brian in ireland

  • O.K., I'm asleep now, with one eye open to watch Blondie!

  • xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • i met her recently in ireland she is still as cool as fuck

  • 30 years have gone by, but I don't see one, true beauty is timeless, I love you and your wrinkles, assumimg you have some now? I wont see them anyway, unless they are very cute. Hugs and kisses baby girl!

  • In my dreams, she sings this to me, then gives me a gentle kiss while I still have tears in my eyes. I fall asleep feeling content and secure and I don't care if I awake. My soul drifts from my body and I know I am in heaven, because I can still hear her singing to me,

  • Blondie way hotter than madonna and more classier than these cheap talentless chicks today

  • I first saw this on RadioVision when it premiered all the Eat to the Beat videos in 1980. Why is it no one else remembers RadioVision? I was eleven at the time and still remember how excited I was when I saw the it.

  • as far as female singers go,she has the most beautiful voice.

  • Those red lips.

  • Thank you x 1Rooster67 <3 this track since the first time I heard it x

  • I just melted...

  • 1)one way or another

    2)detroit 442

    3)accidents never happen

    4)dreaming

    5)die young stay pretty

  • I'm a huge Blondie fan but i don't like this film clip. It doesn't look like her to me, it looks too contrived, as if some Music record executive "toss bag" called the shots on this one. Its to deliberate and too produced in a cheesy way.

  • was she just stunning ..i wish time could travel back too 79.

  • cocaines a hell of a drug

  • @TearToTheReeDeeOol I know, I love it

  • What does "Petty's parking" mean? It's been bugging me for like twenty years!!!

  • @CommanderComma-I have no idea and I love musical trivia. She wrote this while they were touring in France and suffering from a very nasty flu. A few months ago you could have asked her. She used to post on Youtube under an alias.

  • Wow, I'm listening to this in the middle of the day. And I really want to doze off right now,

  • I wish I could go back to the 70's. I never understood why Sam Tyler was so worked up about it.

  • Oh yeah, you're right mikem 1966; love that album...every signle song, second of it....I didn't know this video...she's hot as hell and (sings) sweet as heaven, "what else" needed ?

  • proof (if proof were ever needed) that any track from ETTB could have been released as a single and reached number 1.

  • This is the song I'd like to play for children when they wanna sleep.

  • I bet this confused the hell out of teenaged boys at the time, looking so hot and f**kable, but singing a song that sounds so maternalistic.

  • What a beautiful woman! I will always love looking at her.

  • O Debbie. You are immortal to me. There are copies of blondie but the real touch is yours.

  • a 1 classic

  • a minter

  • Brilliant. Always reminded me of "Goodnight" by the Beatles.

  • Too much - I'm hypnotised

  • She is in a Dream. My Dream.

  • Daaamn, she looks so beautiful in this video!

  • She looks doped up for this sleep oriented song. Dilated?

  • No she definitely is not doped up! I was there. We begged her to get doped up and have dilated eyes with us. She absolutely refused fearing this beautiful work of art could be dismissed with a silly negative comment some thirty years later. She was very smart!

    Thanks 1Rooster67-Good one!

  • tokin.................................

  • No one could ever compete with blondie. She still looks good for her age. lucious lips..

  • I LOVE HER LIPS. This song is soothing.

  • LOVE this song. It's the perfect lullaby. This puts me to sleep by the time it's over - without fail! :)

  • i loved her when i first saw her in 1978 singing denise and looking at this video...i have never saw another girl as beautiful as her

  • She has the most perfectly shaped lips I have ever seen.

  • She is a dream. A good one. And she is a punk girl!

  • she's the most beautiful woman in the world...

  • what did andy warhol say?

  • I dont know?

  • @andy191266 Andy Warhol said Debbie was his favorite pop star! Mick J must have been very jealous of that!

  • @doetim Andy also considered Madonna to be an imitator doing the same thing Debbie was doing years before her.

  • people say i look like her. sorry, we come one in a million.

  • ur name says hilton not harry. blah!

  • Still one of the most beautiful and haunting songs I've ever heard. I wouldn't mind dying while listening to this.

  • a face like that is one in a million.

  • Thanks for posting this, it's Toit!

  • This music video reminds me of Michael Jackson's "She's Out of My Life"....in an eerie sort of way, for some odd reason.

  • My god...those lips haunt me a night

  • Yeah sure, but if you thought about her...who would be able to sleep!

  • Haha v funny, true i guess.

    Blondie rocks x

  • Totally ethereal song, very trippy. Blondie Rocks!

  • Sorry I meant to give a thumbs up.

  • blondie

  • stunning what more can one say

  • well,now i'm sleepy...

  • Oops that should be "Cost" not cosy..whit a diddy.

  • I Remember buying this video in 1979 on betamax..it cosy me about £70..just for the vid..the machine was in the £800s..still got the video

  • hahaha, great story man thanks for sharing.

  • I adore this Woman/Lady!!! I LOve Blondie too. They are Genius!!!! Thank you Debby for sharing your inner Beauty:-D)))

    little paulo cristo:-D

  • Another accomplishment for 1979.

    The last great Count Dracula

    George Hamilton.

  • Odd thing,

This song always made me sleepy.

  • I agree with superblondiefan1, wish I could go bk to 79 also, but can't, but we do have you tube to see Debbie Harry and Blondie then and now, she still rocks...

  • I mean for real - look at this video - amazing. no one was doing this at the time, i mean way before mtv. wish i had a time machine. I would so go back to 1979.

  • 1979 was a great year for me too.

  • @superblondiefan1

Press the play button, close your eyes, them open them, and it is 1979. The validating factor of life is beauty, and it is timeless.

  • The album "Eat to the Beat" was available as a video, a first.

    Any chance of 'Victor'?

  • that would be crazy live!

  • Dang she's sexy here!! hubba-hubba! I wished I could have seen Blondie at CBGB's back in the day!!

  • I remember when things were not too good at home, my brother Andrew falling asleep to this song. she was like our girlfriend or just a friend really. wonder if she could ever realise, at one time she was everything to a couple of young boys.

  • I used to fall asleep to this when i was younger and then get the fright of my life when victor came on (next track on eat to the beat) lovely song

  • Haha, I can imagine! =P

  • never saw this video before. thanks for posting!

  • Thanks

  • Please dont remove this. Everyone puts Blondie's songs on here but doesnt have this song. NOw that it is posted, dont remove it. Thanks
