it just bugs me, WaterKirin, because you sound like you are calling for everyone else here to be mature and do their research before talking and making accusations, but here you are shooting your mouth off and you don't know shit.
And it sounds like you do, dude. Talking about not paying attention to the industry, you are the one who needs to broaden your musical horizon `cause it might do for your own good.
"Kings of borrowing ideas and making them new"? If you think so, they DO produce new feel and direction to the music they are inspired from, not just "copy and paste" like this song.
You haven't presented any arguments, or evidence, in anything you've said there. All you've done is claim that I need to broaden my musical horizons (though not saying what I've said that indicated my horizons are narrow or why).
You've also said again and again that this song is copied and pasted, but not said to me where or how. Frankly, it is a different song.
Lol... Songs are already even there, if ya still can`t tell it, well (sigh). For your information, this is not the first time the artist who produces this song copies songs, he also ripped both major hits "This Love (Maroon 5)" and "Yeah! (Usher)" for his song and all I do is just saying "What a copycat!" and people get furious. Hit the nail on the head, huh?
Haha, I already told you, I don't really care about this artist, or her producer. And I can hear the similarities to other songs, it's just too bad you can't hear how they are different.
Oh, one more thing, next time you are losing an argument on the internet because you don't have evidence, don't distract from the case at hand by making new accusations; just own up to it and move on. :]
It`s not distracting. It`s about the same person. Evidence? I don`t ever need evidence when people are too chicken to speak out loud truth. Proof is good enough. It`s sooo easy to say it right away "I don`t care about this person bla bla bla" or whatsoever man when things are right on your face and you can`t swallow the fact and accept the truth. Keep moving on with your hypocrite music, mr dj :). Get out of the kitchen if you can`t take the heat.
by the way, it's distracting because i ask you to show how this song copies another, and instead of doing that, you say the producer also has other songs that copy; this makes you look like you have no evidence, and don't want to admit it.
I heard the song, I spoke out my mind, I named the songs, and you with your "so what so what," you are the one who not telling the point and what the hell your problem really is and for instead doing the childish "spell-checking" and finding mistakes words by words.
Oh, and by the way, if you read my posts I never corrected your spelling, even once. Besides, do you really think it's childish to expect an adult like you to talk sense? You say "I don't need evidence" and then "My proof is good enough"; it's not me picking on your wording, that is you with two pieces of an idea that don't fit. There's no way to can rephrase that or word it better to make it make sense.
See . . . none of your talk makes any sense. You say you don't ever need evidence, but "proof is good enough"? Evidence and proof is the same thing, buddy. I don't mean to pick on you if English is not for first language, but if it is, that's pretty shabby.
And you imply I am "too chicken to speak out load truth"; why then am I here talking with you? You are the one refusing to explain these "truths" you talk about.
Easy to expect this kind of reply as you are dumb as ever. I gave comment about how this song sounds like certain songs out there and I told people which songs that I was talking about after I listened to it and here you can`t stand about how I speak out my point by accusing things and "it`s similar so what I don`t care bla bla bla," and when I said that this is not the first time the "producer" copies, again "I don`t care I don`t care."
Actually, if you actually read my first comments I acknowledge that it sounds similar to N.E.R.D and No Doubt, that is not the problem; you don't say it's similar, in fact you say 'It`s not "might be similar", it`s same.' But it's not the same.
You can't keep track of anyone's words, not even your own.
I heard the song, I spoke out my mind, I named the songs, and you with your "so what so what," you are the one who not telling the point and what the hell your problem really is and for instead doing the childish "spell-checking" and finding mistakes words by words.
Sorry, buddy, you never named those songs to *me*! You expected me to read all your comments to other people right off the bat? And you never said *how* this song is similar to those other songs, as if it is too hard, or too much effort for you. Let me actually compare music elements and show you how it is different:
The guitar stum rhythm is less complex than in nerd, and uses only two chords instead of many. The melody of the synth background is different from Hella Good, other than being high notes with a synth sound, there's no similarity.
Looks like you're the one that can't hear the subtlety in music.
Also, I did say in my very first comment what my point is, that the music you are comparing this too is similar, but not "the same", but YOU are calling it "the same".
Talking about not knowing music industry? It`s more complicated than you think, noob. But in case of this song, if you really listened to music, you could`ve told the similarity, except you are tone deaf and you call yourself a dj? What a joke. Did I say you`re too chicken? But glad if you feel you are one.
Sorry, not only am I a dj but I play several musical instruments; not that that matters. You avoid actually comparing the melody in your comments, because there is no comparison, the melodies are different. So don't call me tone deaf. :]
And you did imply that I am chicken. If you don't know what "imply" means, look it up in a dictionary. You talked about "people are too chicken to speak out loud truth"; if you don't mean me, why tell me that? lol
You don't seem to understand the concept of "style"; how things can be similar, but different.
12-bar blues uses the same instruments in the same proportions, similar scales and licks, same chord progressions, are the same length of phrase, and deal with similar themes and subject matter in the lyrics. Do you mean to say all of blues is "copied" and "worthless"?
Yeah yeah, all theories and no practice. Even basic theories would sound like trash coming out of person like you. Are you blind, tone deaf? Who cares if you don`t know the songs because since the beginning the song titles are already up there. Read the whole things before butting in and talk smart. Betcha never heard lots of chinese songs.
how am I all theories and no practice? at least I *have* theories. you have nothing. and what is "a person like you"? I did take care and read everything you wrote, and everything I said was right."Betcha never heard lots of chinese songs."
See? That statement is you, realizing I know more about music than you, and saying that hoping I am not familiar with chinese music. In fact, I've probably heard more mandarin, canto, taiwanese, korean, japanese, or any asian music compared to you.
You just butt in and never notice that it`s about mandarin song with their huge preference of COPYING and RIPPING from western music with this one is just a little worse than some of them there by using two songs into one and thought no one would notice. Even before I gave comment here, the chinese music media already reported about this RIPPING on the news. Ignoring this fact, again? Won`t wonder about it. Do another "word analysis" again and I`m waiting for those mr know-it-all-theories again.
Hahaha, at last you say something I can agree with! Although it's not just mandarin, all across Asia the music industry is much more accepting when it comes to borrowing heavily from other works, compared to traditional Western views. So, if you want to say that Asian music industry accepts borrowing more than N. American music industry, of course; that is obvious. This song still isn't an exact copy of the other songs you named.
"Ignoring this fact, again?" How can I ignore it "again" when you said it just now for the first time? And where are these reports in the chinese media? Can you name some, so the rest of us can see the "proof" you talk about?
Well, from what I heard is this producer uses "She Wants to Move" guitar part during chorus and some part during second verse on this song`s second verse. Just "a little" modified electro sound effect and that gasping vocal from "Hella Good" is applied as well.
The news is the same age as this song, which is a few years ago. Good for you, it`s on the internet. You are the one who need it, find it yourself.
You think I'm the on that needs it? Not really, you're the one trying to prove something to me, so you provide it. And don't say "I'm not trying to prove anything to YOU" because why else are you arguing with me?
But while I think this song isn't too much of a rip, I also agree with you that Asia's music (also film, television) industry is bad for lacking originality sometimes, especially when the source is overseas, and so is not subject to any kind of copyright law.
I am also familiar with the taiwanese coverage on this subject, with many of leehom's singles not able to win awards. Of course, if it's too similar I don't think it's very creative; but people dance to it, I spin it, and if fans like it, they will buy it, right?
It is interesting that Leehom's "A Simple Song" is derived from "Grandfather's Clock" by Ken Hirai; but Ken's song is derived from the song by the same name, written by Henry C. Work in 1876! Ken even sang the english version on the B side of his album.
What I was trying to say before, that you did't realize, is that the music industry is just like cooking, or breakdancing, or painting: everybody borrows from everybody, it's normal and accepted, and only once in a blue moon is something created that is wholly new. And when that happens, everyone celebrates it and it is the genius of the age.
If I eat kabayaki and makizushi, and decide to put them together for the first time, is that copying? But that is just unakyomaki, it is a traditional, respected, separate dish that is as old as the other two.
This is why I say the songs are only similar, not the same:
Huo: F# F# F# F# F# F
1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 1 +
Hella Good:
G G G D D D Eb D
1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 1 + 2 +
So, the melody is different, and the rhythm is different. What is left? Are you saying that no one should be allowed to use synthesizers in songs anymore? That would mean most of the 80's music, full of synthesizers, is copied - oh wait, the 80s were before No Doubt ever existed.
This does sound pretty close, I agree, but the structure of the songs are different (CCAB/ABAB and AAAB). It's like two robots, both made with tin, but one has eight arms with hinge joints and one has two arms and wheels. There is even more in the song that is borrowed from "She Wants to Move" that you didn't mention. Personally, I think Huo is pretty uncreative in this aspect and I don't like it.
PS Sorry about the spacing, I forgot html will only allow single spaces, so it doesn't show the rhythm I typed out for you properly; but you can follow along in the songs yourself.
Compare again: Huo: A part: F#m F#m Gm Gm Gm Gm 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 B part: F#m F#m Fm Fm Fm Fm 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 C part: F#m F#m F#m (basically one or more strums ending on "1" beat) 4 + 1 Huo pattern is CCAB, in the verses, and ABAB in the chorus. PS youtube put this is the wrong order, this comes after the Huo/Hella Good comparison.
Well, I really did not want to prove anything to you from the very beginning because you were pissed off with how I said "This song is ripped off," not because of me wanting to prove anything to you. Arguing is not part of my life.
About fans like it, it`s the same with the fact that many S.H.E fans don`t know that their idols just take and sing Destiny`s Child number "Brown Eyes" with no creativity modification, they keep singing sooo many other people`s songs and they recognise themselves as artists?
Fans ignorance helps artists producing not original music. That`s what I mean "the need to broaden musical horizon," listen to more music, dance, jazz, techno, rock, slow rock, pop, instrumentals, etc. I listen to lots of western music, that`s why I can straight away name which songs are ripped.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Glad you know this "producer." It`s talking about the very talented artist with musical college background and at the end ripping hits right after the western songs get hot on the radio ("This Love," "Yeah!") About your given comparison, with his kind of level, it`s obvious copying and pasting won`t happen, but for people who used to listen to western music will be keen enough to notice it. But I bet most Taiwanese won`t know any single thing about it.
Synthesizers used, but does this song have its own character? No. When these new generation of eastern artists rip songs, the produced songs won`t go far from the original, unlike western artists. So many rap songs in western music, for instance, but each of them has its own character although same beat, melody, and rhythm are applied.
I am a big music fan who never like this kind of 'Let`s rip' and 'Yo, yo, yo this is my new music, my new style!' attitude happens and that is the reason I always listen to western music even though I am Chinese, at least I have my own music sense.
Before "Yeah!" became a huge smash hit, I can swear I never heard any crunk music element in eastern music before, unlike nowadays one with low copycat quality.
When western music uses elements from any songs in the past, they give credit and make it clear "THIS SONG SAMPLES FROM..."
Well, I'm glad we are discussing more calmly now, and I agree with your criticisms of asian artist, especially taiwanese, and also their fanbase is not able to detect similarities to western music.
You may not know it, but ripping happens in the West too; but those songs usually do not get too popular, or else the original is so obscure maybe you do not recognise it.
In fact, the entire hip-hop industry in the West has been criticised in recent years for sampling and copying without permission, and without being clear that "this song samples from -". A famous example is Puff Daddy's "I'll be Missing You" (1997), which is ripped without permission pretty badly from Sting's "Every Breath You Take" (1983) and the American folk spiritual ballad "I'll Fly Away".
S.H.E'S fans know that the English version of "恋人未满" is "Brown eyes", cause they announced this in their album and paid for it. Please make EVERYTHING CLEAR when you try to criticize somebody or somebody's work.
thats because they got the same producer, thats why all their tracks sound similar.
The neptunes produced no doubt's "Hella good", JT "Like I love you", and N.E.R.D is basically The Neptunes...
Lee hom didn't copy track to track, but he sure copy Neptunes' distinctive sound... I think Taiwan music industry need to look for their own style to develope~

There's no way to can rephrase that or word it better to make it make sense.
xandercorp 4 years ago
Can`t take it any longer? Get a life, don`t accusing people are losing.
WaterKirin 4 years ago
See . . . none of your talk makes any sense.
You are the one refusing to explain these "truths" you talk about.
xandercorp 4 years ago
Easy to expect this kind of reply as you are dumb as ever. I gave comment about how this song sounds like certain songs out there and I told people which songs that I was talking about after I listened to it and here you can`t stand about how I speak out my point by accusing things and "it`s similar so what I don`t care bla bla bla," and when I said that this is not the first time the "producer" copies, again "I don`t care I don`t care."
WaterKirin 4 years ago
Actually, if you actually read my first comments I acknowledge that it sounds similar to N.E.R.D and No Doubt, that is not the problem; you don't say it's similar, in fact you say 'It`s not "might be similar", it`s same.' But it's not the same.
You can't keep track of anyone's words, not even your own.
xandercorp 4 years ago
I heard the song, I spoke out my mind, I named the songs, and you with your "so what so what," you are the one who not telling the point and what the hell your problem really is and for instead doing the childish "spell-checking" and finding mistakes words by words.
WaterKirin 4 years ago
Sorry, buddy, you never named those songs to *me*! You expected me to read all your comments to other people right off the bat? And you never said *how* this song is similar to those other songs, as if it is too hard, or too much effort for you. Let me actually compare music elements and show you how it is different:
xandercorp 4 years ago
The guitar stum rhythm is less complex than in nerd, and uses only two chords instead of many. The melody of the synth background is different from Hella Good, other than being high notes with a synth sound, there's no similarity.
Looks like you're the one that can't hear the subtlety in music.
Also, I did say in my very first comment what my point is, that the music you are comparing this too is similar, but not "the same", but YOU are calling it "the same".
xandercorp 4 years ago
Talking about not knowing music industry? It`s more complicated than you think, noob. But in case of this song, if you really listened to music, you could`ve told the similarity, except you are tone deaf and you call yourself a dj? What a joke. Did I say you`re too chicken? But glad if you feel you are one.
WaterKirin 4 years ago
You tell me that the music industry is more complicated than I
think, but you are saying two different things are the same;
that is oversimplifying, not showing the complexity of the
music industry. You say if I knew music I could tell you the
similarities, and I did, in my first comments - and rememebr?
You argued 'It's not "might be similar", it's same."
xandercorp 4 years ago
Sorry, not only am I a dj but I play several musical instruments; not that that matters. You avoid actually comparing the melody in your comments, because there is no comparison, the melodies are different. So don't call me tone deaf. :]
And you did imply that I am chicken. If you don't know what "imply" means, look it up in a dictionary. You talked about "people are too chicken to speak out loud truth"; if you don't mean me, why tell me that? lol
xandercorp 4 years ago
You don't seem to understand the concept of "style"; how things can be similar, but different.
12-bar blues uses the same instruments in the same proportions, similar scales and licks, same chord progressions, are the same length of phrase, and deal with similar themes and subject matter in the lyrics. Do you mean to say all of blues is "copied" and "worthless"?
xandercorp 4 years ago
Yeah yeah, all theories and no practice. Even basic theories would sound like trash coming out of person like you. Are you blind, tone deaf? Who cares if you don`t know the songs because since the beginning the song titles are already up there. Read the whole things before butting in and talk smart. Betcha never heard lots of chinese songs.
WaterKirin 4 years ago
how am I all theories and no practice? at least I *have* theories. you have nothing. and what is "a person like you"? I did take care and read everything you wrote, and everything I said was right."Betcha never heard lots of chinese songs."
See? That statement is you, realizing I know more about music than you, and saying that hoping I am not familiar with chinese music. In fact, I've probably heard more mandarin, canto, taiwanese, korean, japanese, or any asian music compared to you.
xandercorp 4 years ago
You just butt in and never notice that it`s about mandarin song with their huge preference of COPYING and RIPPING from western music with this one is just a little worse than some of them there by using two songs into one and thought no one would notice. Even before I gave comment here, the chinese music media already reported about this RIPPING on the news. Ignoring this fact, again? Won`t wonder about it. Do another "word analysis" again and I`m waiting for those mr know-it-all-theories again.
WaterKirin 4 years ago
Hahaha, at last you say something I can agree with! Although it's not just mandarin, all across Asia the music industry is much more accepting when it comes to borrowing heavily from other works, compared to traditional Western views. So, if you want to say that Asian music industry accepts borrowing more than N. American music industry, of course; that is obvious. This song still isn't an exact copy of the other songs you named.
xandercorp 4 years ago
"Ignoring this fact, again?" How can I ignore it "again" when you said it just now for the first time? And where are these reports in the chinese media? Can you name some, so the rest of us can see the "proof" you talk about?
xandercorp 4 years ago
You can't answer to anything I've said, because it's all true. So far, all you said (excluding unrelated insults towards me) was:
1) "It's same."- But you are unable to say how they are similar, even though I have shown how they are different.
2) "Chinese media reported that it's the same."- But you didn't provide these reports.
xandercorp 4 years ago
Just answer one question, if you can:
Specifically, what part of this song is exactly the same as another song, and how is it identical?
Answer this, or admit you were only saying that it was similar; until you at least try to answer the above question, don't expect me to notice you.
xandercorp 4 years ago
Well, from what I heard is this producer uses "She Wants to Move" guitar part during chorus and some part during second verse on this song`s second verse. Just "a little" modified electro sound effect and that gasping vocal from "Hella Good" is applied as well.
The news is the same age as this song, which is a few years ago. Good for you, it`s on the internet. You are the one who need it, find it yourself.
WaterKirin 4 years ago
You think I'm the on that needs it? Not really, you're the one trying to prove something to me, so you provide it. And don't say "I'm not trying to prove anything to YOU" because why else are you arguing with me?
xandercorp 4 years ago
Hey, WaterKirin.
Let me just be clear that I'm not interesting in fighting you; so if you are willing we can discuss this in a friendly, calm way.
I think this song has many similarities to, and is clearly inspired by, "She Wants to Move", and other songs. So it's supposed to sound similar.
xandercorp 4 years ago
But while I think this song isn't too much of a rip, I also agree with you that Asia's music (also film, television) industry is bad for lacking originality sometimes, especially when the source is overseas, and so is not subject to any kind of copyright law.
xandercorp 4 years ago
I am also familiar with the taiwanese coverage on this subject, with many of leehom's singles not able to win awards. Of course, if it's too similar I don't think it's very creative; but people dance to it, I spin it, and if fans like it, they will buy it, right?
xandercorp 4 years ago
It is interesting that Leehom's "A Simple Song" is derived from "Grandfather's Clock" by Ken Hirai; but Ken's song is derived from the song by the same name, written by Henry C. Work in 1876! Ken even sang the english version on the B side of his album.
xandercorp 4 years ago
What I was trying to say before, that you did't realize, is that the music industry is just like cooking, or breakdancing, or painting: everybody borrows from everybody, it's normal and accepted, and only once in a blue moon is something created that is wholly new. And when that happens, everyone celebrates it and it is the genius of the age.
xandercorp 4 years ago
If I eat kabayaki and makizushi, and decide to put them together for the first time, is that copying? But that is just unakyomaki, it is a traditional, respected, separate dish that is as old as the other two.
xandercorp 4 years ago
This is why I say the songs are only similar, not the same:
Huo: F# F# F# F# F# F
1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 1 +
Hella Good:
G G G D D D Eb D
1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 1 + 2 +
So, the melody is different, and the rhythm is different. What is left? Are you saying that no one should be allowed to use synthesizers in songs anymore? That would mean most of the 80's music, full of synthesizers, is copied - oh wait, the 80s were before No Doubt ever existed.
xandercorp 4 years ago
This does sound pretty close, I agree, but the structure of the songs are different (CCAB/ABAB and AAAB). It's like two robots, both made with tin, but one has eight arms with hinge joints and one has two arms and wheels. There is even more in the song that is borrowed from "She Wants to Move" that you didn't mention. Personally, I think Huo is pretty uncreative in this aspect and I don't like it.
xandercorp 4 years ago
PS Sorry about the spacing, I forgot html will only allow single spaces, so it doesn't show the rhythm I typed out for you properly; but you can follow along in the songs yourself.

xandercorp 4 years ago
Well, I really did not want to prove anything to you from the very beginning because you were pissed off with how I said "This song is ripped off," not because of me wanting to prove anything to you. Arguing is not part of my life.
WaterKirin 4 years ago
About fans like it, it`s the same with the fact that many S.H.E fans don`t know that their idols just take and sing Destiny`s Child number "Brown Eyes" with no creativity modification, they keep singing sooo many other people`s songs and they recognise themselves as artists?
WaterKirin 4 years ago
Fans ignorance helps artists producing not original music. That`s what I mean "the need to broaden musical horizon," listen to more music, dance, jazz, techno, rock, slow rock, pop, instrumentals, etc. I listen to lots of western music, that`s why I can straight away name which songs are ripped.
WaterKirin 4 years ago
This comment has received too many negative votes show
Glad you know this "producer." It`s talking about the very talented artist with musical college background and at the end ripping hits right after the western songs get hot on the radio ("This Love," "Yeah!") About your given comparison, with his kind of level, it`s obvious copying and pasting won`t happen, but for people who used to listen to western music will be keen enough to notice it. But I bet most Taiwanese won`t know any single thing about it.
WaterKirin 4 years ago
Synthesizers used, but does this song have its own character? No. When these new generation of eastern artists rip songs, the produced songs won`t go far from the original, unlike western artists. So many rap songs in western music, for instance, but each of them has its own character although same beat, melody, and rhythm are applied.
WaterKirin 4 years ago
I am a big music fan who never like this kind of 'Let`s rip' and 'Yo, yo, yo this is my new music, my new style!' attitude happens and that is the reason I always listen to western music even though I am Chinese, at least I have my own music sense.
WaterKirin 4 years ago
Before "Yeah!" became a huge smash hit, I can swear I never heard any crunk music element in eastern music before, unlike nowadays one with low copycat quality.
When western music uses elements from any songs in the past, they give credit and make it clear "THIS SONG SAMPLES FROM..."
WaterKirin 4 years ago
Well, I'm glad we are discussing more calmly now, and I agree with your criticisms of asian artist, especially taiwanese, and also their fanbase is not able to detect similarities to western music.
You may not know it, but ripping happens in the West too; but those songs usually do not get too popular, or else the original is so obscure maybe you do not recognise it.
xandercorp 4 years ago
In fact, the entire hip-hop industry in the West has been criticised in recent years for sampling and copying without permission, and without being clear that "this song samples from -". A famous example is Puff Daddy's "I'll be Missing You" (1997), which is ripped without permission pretty badly from Sting's "Every Breath You Take" (1983) and the American folk spiritual ballad "I'll Fly Away".

She Wants to Move:
part A:
Em Em Fm Fm Fm Fm
1 + 2 + 3 + 4
part B:
Gm Gm Am Am Am Am
1 + 2 + 3 + 4
She Wants to Move pattern is AAAB in the verses, that guitar pattern isn't used in chorus.
PS Youtube forgot to post this last night, this comes after the Huo CCCA/ABAB guitar analysis.
xandercorp 4 years ago
