Sorry for not writing in English, had to write exactly what I feel about this man!
I must be a minority here, but I loved this movie! It existed on a purely emotional level and I felt every moment of it. (that could be entirely due to Rickmans acting chops though).
This movie was absolute crap ... BUT, Alan Rickman was in it. So. Worth watching every second worth of bad writing and directing. Also, Amanda Ooms did a marvelous job, considering the crappy writing she had to work with. :) OH WELL! Like I said, Mr. Rickman is worth every second of it. <3
@LongLiveLeo The film wasn't crap. It is very well written and played. It also talks about a visionary man who discovered marvelous things. But you probably didn't get the story--too sophisticated for you?
Definitely not too sophisticated for me. No need to insult my intelligence. Just like you shared your opinion, I shared mine without insulting anyone in particular (besides the writers, and unless you're the writer...) Either way. I still think the movie is crap. They did a ridiculous job at portraying, as you say, a "visionary man." If not for Alan Rickman and Amanda Ooms, it would of been a complete failure. Glad you liked it though. They must of done something right.
this is a fairly crap movie however, this man could be filmed for two hours doing nothing but sitting still and i'd still watch it. curse you alan with your feathered hair and sinfully pitched voice
Wait, I don't get it! What did he say at the end? I could hardly hear any of it! nd why did he leave her? Do they end up together? Someone please help
Alan Rickman definitely has some animal magnetism, if you ask me!!!! xP
David Burke and Alan Rickman--oh, how beautiful! :D This movie seemed quite ridiculous at times...but then with a final quote like that, it rings so true--all of them, everything, so perfect, so balanced, and then humans.
No offense to the person who took all the time and effort to put this on utube. You have my gratitude, but it seems alot was missing from the movie. It seemed a bit chopped up.
I will have to go and find it and watch it on the tele I suppose.
Wow! I like the ending! Alan is so great at every movie he does!! Thank god this man is soo talented and we get to see his body of work and his sexy body!! lol. I love his face, eyes, nose, smile, everything about this man!! THE VOICE!!! IT IS SO AMAZING!!! I am glad I have u all to talk about my obsession with Alan!! All of my family and friends think I'm crazy!! They just don't get it!! lol. I didn't know Alan had so many fangirls in the world!! Just goes to show how talented and hot he is!
Nowadays, many experts agree that Paradis' blindness had a psychological not a physical cause. Some suspect that the girl might have been sexually molested by her own father.
As a blind pianist, she was a sensation and got a yearly pension by Empress Maria Theresia. As a "seeing" pianist she was nothing special anymore and her pension was about to be withdrawn. Therefore, her parents put a lot of pressure on the poor girl. The result: She became "blind" once again...
@chiefcolumbus that is what I thought they simply wanted her to be so called blind again even when she wasn't just to get the money and she went along with it because they were that controlling. her dad wanted her to stay home so he could continue molesting her and the mom was terrible as well. poor girl I would of spoke up and said I am not doing this.
Hang on, did the second name on the credits say "David Burke"? Isn't that the dad of Alan's Godkid? Anyone know why that's his Godkid? Alan must be really good friends with either the guys mom or dad.
This movie is a sequence of Rickman scenes with no story line worth mentioning. But, still, the first fact is there - you could hardly find more Rickman's orgiastic expressions. What a pite Alan was not offered a better opportunity.
Oh thank god you have this! I started watching at home on my tv, but the ending on my disc wouldn't work! So glad you have it uploaded! You saved my life! :D
Sorry, I've never been good with Revolutions. I'm still trying to learn about the Russian one, but that is a completely different Alan Rickman movie. So why were Revolutionaries trying to kill the Doctor/Scientists? I'm sorry I'm not good with history.
Because they were part of the nobility class. The poor were uprising against the rich, tired of having to scrape for a living while the nobles went in around in expensive clothes, rode in buggys and threw the poor the scraps from their table if they were in the mood. I love of royals and nobles were beheaded.
"but that's a different Alan Rickman movie" lol too right. If he did a movie for every era in history I think kids would learn a lot more. At least, women would...
Yup, I've learned loads about Mesmer, Rasputin, Blue Babies, searching for people named John and bussiness life, cellos, spoons, spanish steel, reddlemen, and a whole lot of other useful stuff due to his works! What a guy! He's amazing!
One of the best lines ever: "Locksley! I'm gonna cut your heart out with a spoon!" I wish they had shirts that said that, hey, they probably do. *goes to search the internet*
