Some of these guys fail, and the drill officer isnt using his diaphram correctly. And besides, The way I learned drill was that if you call one command, like present arms, and then call left face or something and somebody is booted from the drill down, you say "As you were" And I can call my commands better then him....

I kno for a FACT by the 3-21.5 drill and ceremonies manual and the fact that ive communicated with many drill instructors on this particular situation, that a prepatory command must be given to come to attention. Example:"GROUP, Attention"

the cadets should not go to attention from the single command "attention". That is 100% completely wrong. Therefore, whoever would go to attention should be out. There is no prepatory command and NO, "Atten" is not a prepatory command as "tion" is not the 2nd

Yes, that is true, but if you notice, the person giving commands, is from the Navy and as you should know, the 3-21.5 mannual is for the army only, he was trained that you could bring a group to attention by only saying attention, and I'm sure that the cadets were briefed that for this time, they could respond to that.

The whole point is to teach the cadets how to listen and stay focused on what's being said. Obviously, if they were marching for real he wouldn't have said such commands.

in other words, you know what to do just by hearing the first word, or the preperitory command. the second word just tells you when to do the command.
