The reason the FPS is bad is because of the CPU. please do not take the FPS into consideration when researching this card. I just installed one into my other PC and it runs good, It has an E5300 at 3.4Ghz and 3GB's of ram. It runs at about 40+ fps with AA / AF off everything else medium-high at 1680-1050

I downloaded this just a week ago and I noticed...that this game sucks balls. Dragon Rising is better, and the engine of arma on pc is terrible...ur even lagging with an i7 and a gtx 295. the soldiers in arma are like puppets and the explosion graphics are horrible.

Must be something wrong with your computer mate, the graphics are fine on my computer (Geforce 9800gt) and the explosions are fine, I agree that the soldiers animations aren't amazing but the other side to that is I don't give a shit, I still play the game because I like war simulation, Dragon Rising is better in YOUR opinion, and about me being prejudice! I agree that the voice acting is wierd, but the way it's done is to give you as much info about the situation, they record loads of short phrases and the AI string them together to let you know what's going on, but it is funny :)

Yeah it's possible for them to do but think about every possible scenario, they have to state what type of enemy, how far they are, what their activity is and what direction they are, now if you think about it, that would be a lot of recorded lines considering all the different types of units and stuff.

yeh set your graphics to normal/medium and you'll see 20-30 fps improvement with pretty much no difference in visual quality. If you know how arma works then you'd know ArmA "max'd out" doesn't look much different to arma at normal settings.

you should be able to play it with high/very high settings. Remember that the real fps killers are object details, post-processing and 3D resolution. In particular don't overload this last value beyond the max resolution supported by your monitor, it is the one with 100 after the resolution, because it is uselees to render, let's say, a 1600x1400 scene when you can only have a resolution of 1280x1024 on your monitor, it just increases the overhead on your video adapter.

Arma takes more from the CPU then the GPU. but taking a fast GPU with a slower CPU is always a bottleneck. its always best to "even" those

you CANNOT run the game to its best ability with a low spec CPU, it just doesnt happen. It dont matter what card you've got, this game is pretty much CPU dependant.

I overclocked from 2.4 to 3.1GHz and the difference is amazing

you can turn off all markers depending on what difficulty you want. veteran mode within arma 2 gives you no markers or any visual aids what so ever whether it is on the map or in game, you have to work it all out like in real life :)

If you listened more carefully, they said the online versus, not the 4 player co op, will be more of a cod 4 style, but with much deeper customization teamwork and realism, but still using ctf etc game modes, which arma 2 fanboys like you pick on and pry on and make flashpoint 2 out as unrealistic. Yes you're right. That's because there are no scripts so the AI has to lead the mission and reacts dynamically. It combines sentences - more or less. Anyway, it sounds like crap. But you familiarize to it while the AI gives you and your Teammates some orders during the mission. Well, it's a good game if it runs well on your system.
