I'm so happy Yuka is carrying on her parents' coaching legacy and her own great technique and artistry. Jason also seems to provide great confidence for Alyssa.
Not only did Yuka and Jason revamp Alyssa's technique, but they also fine-tuned her hair and her dress. They also most likely suggested she hold up her front arm in her back cross-overs, place her leg directly behind her in those amazing spirals, and get rid of the stockings over those boots!
@ITSKOJITIME I just watched the grand prixe final ladies short and Alissa placed 1st. God I pray she wins the title, then another national title, and please God give her a World title! She is the most refined of any of the skaters out there.
She has reinvented herself as a technician--there's a security in her landings we haven't seen from her before. Hopefully Yuka and Jason can instill in her confident technique because since Kwan retired American skating is in need of a skater with that special QUALITY and Alissa IS that Skater. She had the audience under a spell. The room was Church silent. Such a beautiful BEAUTIFUL skater. God please make her a World Champion>
@baragm12 I agree Alissa definitely has the most potential to be the heir to Michelle Kwan in terms of elegance and style on the ice. As Dick Button is fond of saying with Alissa there is no wasted arm movements and there is a continuity that just naturally flows from one element to the other when she's on and her
@sneezyize jumps don't leave her as they did this weekend in Paris or even if she's just slightly off as she was in Canada (Thank goodness she racked up enough points though to get on the podium and go to the Grand Prix Final later this month). I just hope Jason and Yuka advice her that she doesn't have to go and commit to anything but the Olympic eligible competitions as
@sneezyize Michelle Kwan (along with Frank Carroll's help) realized near the end of her Olympic eligible career in 2000 to 2004 (What I mean by that I really think Alissa could have won in Paris with a similiar program as in Canada if she hadn't gone to that odd competition the previous weekend where she was competing with more senior men and women and skating to pop tunes.
Alissa Czisny has said that since being with her new coaches, Yuka Sato and Jason Dungjen, she now has a better understanding of where she needs to be on her take-off to get into the air correctly. And jumps are 80% about the take-off, so I hope to see her be much more consistent this season. Cross our fingers, because so far, she has received the highest component marks on the circuit for a ladies event on the Grand Prix circuit.
im so happy she could pull of a grand prix win after what happened at nationals earlier this year. i'd be SOO happy if she could pull of a win at nationals, and maybe even an upset at worlds :).
great music, choreography, artistry, spins, spirals, jumps, footwork, speed, she can def regain confidence and kick butt in the next grand prix and nationals, she seems more prepared, two flips thats a success she hasnt tried two flips in one program since 2005's la bayadere. wish her the best shes so talented and just the apitimy of a figure skater..also one can see she has grown, from a teenager to a lady and it shows in her skating...wooo go czisny
you go girl :))))))))))))))))))))))))
