  • Simply...my idol. I made the same mistakes (w/o the stardom) and was rescued by Head On/ Repossessed. Thanks Copey.

  • Wanna get a head get a hat

  • the video effects ...crap

    the sound never lost quality

    this is fake rubbish

    thanks

  • His honesty is admirable, I have to say :)

  • HAHAHHAHAHAHA THE CHANTING BIT HAHAHAHHA

  • He has GOT to be taking the piss with that chanting thing!

  • great upload! thank you!!!!!!

  • I remember hearing bill drummond say that the reason he was @ odds with julian was because he (Julian) was a genius who could have made amazing earth shattering classic pop music if he had just listened to people a bit more. I also though it was funny when I found out that blurs country house was about dave balfe, nearly as funny as when I found out that balfe had paid back all the money from the teardrop days, I imagine he did it just to piss julian off, cuz julian really wanted to hate him.

  • I remember speaking to Julian at the time when he was in the studio recording PS and he sounded really refreshed and positive. I loved the PS period. Listen to something like "Drive She Said " and you can feel the positive, intelligence shining through it.

  • never seen this before thanks for putting this on. Cope still mystifies me 30 years on.

  • Brilliant.

    thanks for posting.

  • the drude abides

  • ... never know how to take Cope. You'd think he's just GOT to be taking the piss with 85% of what he says and does in this interview. The band perform a daily blessing... WTF??? Anyway, I really enjoyed watching this - thanks for posting.

  • Julian Cope has always been obsessed with the religious implications of rock music and the personalities of rock frontmen, and whether or not the whole daily blessing thing is him doing a pisstake, it stands right in line with his usual modus operandi of exploring religious themes in music, both real and fake, heretical or sacred.

  • No, this is as honest as I've ever seen him...and it's beautiful. Copey For-Fucking-Ever.
