Actually, I found that alot of his points at this talk on "academic freedom" were extremely agreeable, and I'm a moderate liberal. He presented a very convincing, valid argument. The problem is, most people haven't heard it. Most people who know about Horowitz's position seem to only have seen the five minute clip from Hannity and Colmes. Trust me that this is a very skewed version of his position. Just read the paper and decide for yourself. I had much more respect for him after this talk.

not sure if I completely agree with you; we're the school he completely blasted, yet are the only ones in a string of lectures where we did not kick him out of the hall. We can't just keep on taking the blows. I mean, sure, we have to consider is opinion and weigh both sides of the argument, but we can't just stay neutral.

Good point on the neutrality--we can't be neutral, but we have to be the school he can't continue to critique--we have to show that we truly encourage free speech even if we don't agree with what he says, that way when he has to continue his punditry, he has no ammo to use against us, and all he's doing is blowing smoke after that. We need to use his own logic and his own power against him; that's probably going to be the most effective way to take him down.
