  • song??

  • @Thestayla27 first one's Requiem for a dream. Second one if from the Dark Knight soundtrack

  • You mentioned in previous comments about how you had to undergo a ton of training. What did you do during that time? Like, did you have to do practice escapes, breath holds, or something else? This is off of curiousity; you do not have to worry about me trying to mimic what you did and hurting myself in the process lol.

  • I have been training since I was a kid. Working with all kinds of restraints. Trying to increase my breath holding ability. Even simple things like jumping into a 12.5 foot deep pool while chained up can be fatal if you fall the wrong way. Most important is being able to overcome fear and slow your heart rate down. My greatest enemy in these type of escapes is fear. It robs your oxygen and clouds your mind. Being able to hold your breath under stress is so difficult. Staying calm is key

  • Arbiter17,

I have an underwater view of this escape as one of my other videos. Check this one out type in Alexanderia the Great Underwater Leap of Faith Escape

  • (addon to previous comment) The underwater feed would be cool also!

  • A Suggestion: Have a diver with a camera provide feed to go along with your videos.

  • Oh great...you've just held your breath under duress for over a minute, and when you're all done, your reward is...that you have to dive down 12 feet barefoot twice to receive the chains? Ha Ha. You should ask for a volunteer to swim down and retrieve your chains. Or make the lifeguard dive for you. I would do it for you.

  • hardgirl99,

Such is the life of an escape artist. Nothing easy. Do everything yourself (lol). Hey that I get a chance to dive back down to get them is a good thing. That is the scariest escape I do. The escape is aptly named as no matter how many times I do it, it is always a Leap of Faith for me that I can get out.

  • Probably a dumb question, but how did you get the chains that you left at the bottom of the pool out?

  • hardgirl99,

Swam down and got them. Tough getting them all at once. I grab half at a time.

  • cool :)

  • thats really awesome, u know........ it seems so impossible but of course u can do it :) got any tips???? i would love to train for that kind of stuff but i could never do that now. oh well..... great job!!!!

  • spygirl419,

This is not something you jump into. Please DO NOT DO THIS AT HOME!. If you are interested in magic contact your local International Brotherhood of Magicians ring. Get with someone who knows this art before you try anything.

  • I would've died on the first 5 secconds. XD

  • @CassidyRaciappa You know sometimes in those first 5 secs I feel like OMG what have I done. But I try and relax and get to my years of training. It does bear repeating though. PLEASE ALL DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME. I am a trained professional who have worked up to this escape with years of hard work and training. You do not just simply jump in and try and figure this out. Now Cassidy I know you would not try this but I though since you mentioned dying I wanted to be sure no one else does. TY

  • Absolutely amazing escape, just loved it! I would love to see you hanging upside down doing an escape from a straitjacket high up in the air! Or upside down escaping from the Chinese Water Torture Cell, I know you can do that! Because you're the best and the greatest! Hug and kiss to you!

  • @meurmel I do a strai jacket escape now and would love a chance to do the Water Torture Cell. Stay tuned as I am trying to make it happen.

  • nice suit

  • nice suit

  • Thanks a Speedo.

  • That's a cool escape! Really great job. Obviously, the way tomake it more exciting is to increase two of the varables which I'm sure you will with practice: Depth of pool (there diving weels at universities which are 17 feet deep, and length of time underwater (i.e. more restraints) Really ccol though. Danger is sexy!

  • Thanks for the kind words. Most pools here are only 12.5 feet deep max. Not many pools in New England are more the 12.5 feet deep. As for more restraints I am at 55 lbs weighting me down which is twice what Houdini did in his escapes. I just have to be careful as I hit the bottom pretty hard now with 55 lbs going to 75 or 100 pounds might prove costly to the pool (damage) and me (health). I do agree though that danger is sexy.

  • Hi Alex,

I'm not quite sure why I've only just seen this escape (perhaps youtube lost my subscription). Absolutely awesome work. You are quite a lady! Keep it up.

  • Rolandsc,

I was kinda of wondering why you had not commented on this one as I thought you would approve. Thanks for the kind words.

  • Do you have a contingency plan if anything goes wrong?

  • The only thing I have is the lifeguards to pull me out if they figure I am in trouble. There really isn't much they can do as they will have to pull me and 55 pounds of restraints to the surface (not easy). This is why I call this escape The Underwater Leap of Faith as I do have to have faith in myself to escape as the risk is a drowning death. This amount of weight in my restraints is double what the Great Houdini did in his bridge jumps.

  • do i get any credit for making the video? =/

  • That was a great escape. The only thing it needs now is some work on the theater of the escape so that the audience becomes more emotionally involved.

  • Gerrrry,

Thanks for the kind words on the escape. I would love to hear what we can do to get the audience more emotionally involved. If you prefer email or pm from my youtube channel as I am curious about any and all ideas. Thanks

  • Well I don't know how you would like to do it, however most magicians I see performing escapes are constantly reminding the audience of the danger involved and making the audience wonder if something something horrible has gone wrong with the trick. This might not be right for you, but I think an act of some kind would really compliment your escape. I think it would be good for the announcer to be speaking while you are under water.

  • I agree letting themknow the danger is important. This is a very dangerous escape. I was more heavily shackled & chained that even Houdini ever was. To my knowledge no women has ever done an escape where she jumps into a body of water and had more restraints on than me. Check around the internet. A few women in tanks but none doing what are called bridge jumps because the are simply too dangerous.

  • Yes I agree, as I said, the escape itself was really good. The video I saw previous to this was your first one where you were training and I was amazed at how much you had improved. :) I think a good act would only help people to understand the skill involved and get you the recognition you deserve for all your hard training. Good luck :)

  • I agree though my husband does explain all the restraints as they are going on (there are edits here) & at 1:40 he even does a sum up of what has been done before I jump in. Then he counts off 25 secs 30 secs 40 secs 45 secs and then I emerge at about 50 secs. He actually was suppose to do every 15 secs but got caught up in checking on me (I guess he cares) that he forgot the first 15 sec count and tried to recover at 25. I hope you don't think I am being defensive I love any help we can get.

  • I see. No problems. You are right it probably would have looked very different without the cuts.

  • Best escape at the Worldwide Escape Artits Relay IMHO.
