totally agree with you.. you cannot call upon ne1 but Allah.. Y did the as'haabe karaam not call upon the prophet after his death, if it was allowed?.. after all we all agree the sahaaba were the best muslims as Allah states in the Quran.(radhiyallahu anhum wa radhu anh) Also the prophet saw states that 'my sahaba are like shining stars who evers follows they way will have guidance'

if we look in the sahaabaz lives (hadith kitabs- siha-uss-sitaa) we will realize dat the sahaba never called upon the prophet after his demise.. infact straight after when the people were collapsing distraught, with grief, Hadhrat Abu bakr stood up and said o people if ur god was the prophet then he has passed, if ur god,lyk myn, is Allah den he is still ever present- to which the sahaba realized wat dey wr doin
