I saw bernadette and reba. Both were great but reba was better. Sadly, they didn't do full cast album with reba but the did a special two song cd that came in a cardboard sleave inside the souvenir booklet. The cd has reba singing "you can't get a man with a gun" and "i got lost in his arms." I wish they did a full recording.
I did see the original show with Bernadette and enjoyed it. After all, it was Bernadette. And, in my humble opinion, the choreography was not as terrible as someone on here posted. But, I really wanted to get back to New York to see Reba perform it, for several reasons . . . one being that she is married to my cousin. I've only seen these youtube performances of her, but I know from seeing them that she was a perfect replica of the REAL Annie Oakley . . . Country gone to uptown stardom.
Magic. To take a classis score, make it sound so fresh and then your own...Reba should have won a special Tony for one of the most amazing performances ever. This is one of those rare moments that a great part fits a great performer and the end result defies conjuring up sufficient superlatives.

She was brilliant, made me so happy I cried (perhaps the only time in my life). The experience combined love of country music and Reba with theater. It was pretty amazing how Reba's amazing performance made me forgive the poor choreography and design elements.
@jtcarey2 That choreography was pretty atrocious. People have asked me to upload Franks "My Defences Are Down" and I just can't, the song is great but the choreography belongs in "Brokeback Mountain" not "Annie Get Your Gun". It's Baaad.
@dugite100 I heard they actually wanted to do it, but her record label wouldn't let her do it. something like that... Ill see if i can find it again...
@DavidoffGustav My understanding was that it was in Bernadette's contract that she'd do the cast recording and that no one would be able to record another if/when she left the show.
OMG, this brings back memories: I saw Reba do this as the highlight of my 40th birthday visit to NYC in April 2001 and it blew me away. At the time I was gutted that I missed Bernadette Peters' version, but what did I know? I couldn't believe I couldn't get a cast recording, this is one of my all-time favourite shows and Reba's version brought me to tears.
I didn't become a Reba fan until very recently. What I wouldn't have given to have seen this performance live! I could see myself spending all my money to see her in this over and over again!!!
I think the only cast recording CD they have out for "Annie Get Your Gun" on Broadway is the one with Bernadette Peters...I'm pretty sure you can download some of the Reba - versions of the songs off of LimeWire though.:):P
