  • A v10 in a stang is useless. Just the customizing it takes to make this work + power/dollar cost is retarded.

  • "see the red, that means it's recording" must be a chevy guy.

  • 0,0 holly shit why wasnt this put into production

  • supercharger please!

  • this engine is not the 6.8l truck engine. not even close. it is a re-done 4.6 dohc stretched 2 cylinders for a total of 5.8 liters. it was a custom one off back-shop hot rod built by ford.

  • The actual triton v10 in f super dutys is a 413 ci 320 hp and 440 pounds of torque. With the right exhaust it sounds like a freaking Lamborghini or something in that category. The engine is freaking massive, I can't believe they actually attempted to put it in a car. That's just insane.

  • beautifull but sounds exacley like an audi r8 v10

  • @fordmanx3

I think it sounds a little better than an audi v10.

  • 6.8 right?

  • v10s arnt livable, look at vipers, one of the most dangerous crazy cars when in production, a mustang would be a catastrophe with a v10...

  • @25Celtics Vipers are dangerous because they don't have traction control or electronic stability control. It has nothing to do with how many cylinders the engine has.

  • @BeeRad277 No kidding, look how many 1000+ Wheel HP Cobra's are out there.

  • @BeeRad277 Exactly. Just look at the BMW E60 M5. 5.0L V10, 500hp. Definitely not dangerous or crazy. :D

  • @BeeRad277 vipers are still an insane car. sick stang, how much power?

  • @25Celtics BTW fool....its a Ford V-10. And its not going in a Viper. Sooooooooo?

  • @ownTer Its a fucking pickup engine. Soooooooooooo?

  • @25Celtics Whats that got to do with? Oh no...it came from a truck?.....it must be a POS. Quit while your ahead son.

  • @ownTer Why are you trolling bro? This car has the torque to pull a mobile home, sure torque is good, but not that much. i dont think they really need to make a car like that, thats all im saying. If you want to put it in a mustang, make it a performance engine, not just a dragster. BTW I love vipers and i LOVE fords, and when i called the mustang a catastrophe, it was complement

  • @25Celtics m5, m6, gallardo, r8, LFA, carrera gt, rs6, s6, s8. V10's are incredible and safe when done right

  • @bmwandcadillacftw you are right, but a mustang with a v10 isnt though, at least for that generation, can you imagine a 04 v10? it would be a nightmare, now, not such a bad idea... but the 5.0 has got to stay :D

  • @25Celtics

V10s are plenty livable, look at all the Econolines and F350s and Excursions with them. Livable? For certain. It's just the way the car is designed as it was designed to be basic like a race car.. The Viper was meant to be balls to the wall, dangerous, and scary. No traction control, no ABS, and no reverse lockout on the transmission for a little while.

  • @hjjfffaa well obviously i was talking about a car, not a towing truck dude

  • @25Celtics

The difference being? They're all V10s.

  • @hjjfffaa super cars are insane, v10s and v12s. if they can make it work then great, yes the viper was insane, a mustang would be too. but a truck for towing would be just right for a v10, like the v10 1500, or the f350 like you said. im just saying stick with the v8. quit trolling! :)

  • @25Celtics cylinder count means nothing...

  • @hjjfffaa k

  • @hjjfffaa No, but horsepower figures do and when you consider that Ford wasn't able to produce a N/A engine producing anywhere near that output until about 10 years later, it's pretty impressive.

  • @dodge69874 Near what output? You do realize that specific output is stupid and going for some really high number upsets the balance of the machine as a whole, right?

  • @hjjfffaa Power output. And this vehicle seemed to be running beautifully with that set up.

  • @dodge69874 Ford doesn't go for hurr durr HP/L and they know how to balance their cars.

  • Comment removed

  • @25Celtics the viper v10 is incredibly heavy. Its an 8.5 liter which weighs a ton. this is an all aluminum 5.8 which wouldnt be much weight distribution difference from a standard mustang gt

  • @5spd5thgen I hope you're aware the Viper's v10 is an all aluminum 8.4L and the front of the Viper's V10 is right behind the front axle.

  • @5spd5thgen Yeah, I believe they said it was 25 lbs. lighter than the 5.4L in the 2000 Cobra R.

  • lol had him from the line

  • lol v10 mustang stil running high 12's jesus christ...ford needs to just...stop

  • @plane45036 its only a 5.8 wth you wanna run against it thats a 5.8 and will run 12s stock

  • ill run against it

  • @plane45036 it was a low compression NA motor that only revved to like 6000 RPMS. it was a test car on top of that.

  • @plane45036 well even 1000hp car will run 12s if you cant get it to hook.

  • the info is incorrect

  • Ford released shortly V10 and V12, efficient and not fuel-efficient. They are working on. The Taurus V6 is more powerful than the Audi V8. The Ford Trucks are already very powerful.

  • ford mustang v10 vs dodge charger v10 what a race that would be

  • Why does the video say its a 325ci and the description says 351? I am confuses. Either way ford probably scrapped this idea in favor of the Boss 6.2 in the trucks right now. As far as a V10 goes I wouldn't want that in a mustang. They don't sound as good as 8s and adding 2 more cylinders is only gonna make you have to buy more expensive modular parts for upgrades/rebuilds. Also there is no chance any other motors parts will work.

  • if its a 351 v 10 if i m not mistaken thats not possible... i have a 351 Cleveland and it doesn't have space for 2 more cylinders... i just dont see your information being correct. either the cylinders are smaller or the block is bigger.

  • @TheMustangfan101 the displacement comes out to 351ci. they didn't take a 351C or 351W block and add 2 holes

  • @meifert2 actually they did tlc of all people did a documentary on it its supposedly the motor out of the shelby gt concept but i highly doubt this is the car with that engine

  • @jfkyz125 it just a project that the lead engine designers at ford got the go ahead on. they just wanted to see if they could do it. there was a big write up about it years ago in motor trend i believe. all it was was the top engine designers gettin to have some fun and this is what they came up with.

  • @TheMustangfan101 smaller pistons?

  • badass idea but i think a dohc cobra motor with a kenn belle or twin turboed would make more power

  • @steedu46gt this makes 500+hp all engine...add the same thing to it and it would murder all....viper killer? lol

  • crazy shit i just seen a v10 from a 2003 f250 for $500 thats dirt cheap

  • i have a 2000 lincoln town car ill sell you for $450

  • if you deliver it i will give u 550

  • chevy better hope they dnt put it n a cobra n s/c it a kb woulb b 1000 hp easy sound like a ferrai but better bigger is better sme tme n its a ford

  • Comment removed

  • @Moyo2k makes no sense, torque is acceleration...

  • Comment removed

  • yaaaaaaah ford power

  • This stang is a fuckin gorilla ,ford should have put this thing out there with a kenne bell twin screw super charger..and some spray,,hell how about twin turbo,,It would have been all bad for the vettes and anyone else who wanted too step up ..All I can say is sweet video and FORD POWER BABY..........

  • is this the same engine of the Shelby GR-1 or Shelby Cobra Concept?

  • zing

  • THAT engine should of been in the Ford GT

  • @racecardriver467 oh yeah.

  • whats in the yellow 94? it's holding with the V10. lol

  • Holding with what? holding with would be door to door. That's like telling someone that beat you by 2 car lengths that you almost had them.

  • alrighty i just looked up the specs on the BOSS 351ci V10 test mule on the motor is infact a 351ci 5.8L V10 it makes 430hp and 405tq does 0-60 in 4.4 and 0-100 in 10.3 runs the 1/4 mile in 12.88 @ 114.44mph. the motor is not a 325ci V10 there is no such thing as a 325ci V10 ever made. hope i helped everyone out

  • the engine is nothing more then a 4.6l with 2 extra cylinders.....if you didnt already know the production v10 in the f150s is a modular engine based off the 5.4l...

  • i know its a 5.8L V10 351ci and the V10 is only found in F250's and some F350's no F150's have a V10 and i know the 6.8 is based off the 5.4. ford is to cheap to make a whole different motor. what would be kinda cool if they could join 2 DOHC Intech V8's together. that would be badass

  • sorry typo...superdutys have the v10 my bad...

  • they used the exact method you mentioned. The 6.8 V10 is just a 5.4 V8 with a pair of cylinders grafted on, same deal with the heads and cams. 5.8 V10 in this project car is just a 4.6 cobra motor with the same treatment

  • cobra engine? as far as i know this v10 is a 2 valve head design...cobras are 4v...but a 4.6l cobra block isnt any different then any other 4.6l block from the same year. the difference was forged crank, better rods and pistons to handle the 390hp rating

  • no the v10 in this stang has a 4v head design. look around for the vid that shows the engine bay. it looks like a stretched out cobra motor.

  • this engine was actually made up by adding two more cylinders to the modular 4.6 v8, this engine was actually uniqu.

  • i know it was a DOHC cobra motor with 2 more cylinders....

  • that and the fact its engine is ran as if it were 2 seperate inline-5s...

  • point being? a 4.6l v8 is ran as if it were 2 seperate inline-4s....gtfo

  • um no..... you should actually read the story of the car. Komo is saying that there is no computer software at ford that would have made it work at a better potential. 4.6L runs sequential.

  • yah...each cylinder is controlled seperately...nothing new in the ford world. point being?

  • point being there was no way the EEC-V could control 10 cylinders at the same time, there was no program for it. so they used two computers and essentially used one computer for each bank. One comp. controlled 5 cylinders and the 2nd comp controlled the other 5

  • yet eec-v is used in the triton v10 trucks....gtfo

  • fastest time they ran in it was an 11.93 I believe

  • its not a 5.8L v10, its a 6.4L v10 605hp, 501pft

  • Wrong.

  • yes i am wrong, i always get confuse

  • i did alot of research on this motor when i read about this car, and its basically a 4.6l with 2 extra cylinders, and the 6.8l v10 is basically a 5.4 with 2 extra cyinders. i wish ford would put this bad boy in hte mustang GT's it'd be a cheap motor to make easy HP.

  • this engine deserves a better car(not that the mustang isn't a better car) but there's to many mustang variants

the new cobra needs to be produced and this engine needs to shine

  • dude amen to that, the new gt500 are shit compared to the 03/04 cobras Ford really needs to pull its head out of its ass and make a sweet car again.

  • lol yes they were bad ass

we need a new corvette fighter, we need a shelby cobra

  • wait.. are you kidding me? the shelby gt500? uhh.. besides the fact its a blown 5.4 instead of a 4.6...

    390hp vs. 500hp.

    gtfo

  • that mustang sounds awesome....

  • You must be a fat ass beer gut kind of guy? lol just kidding, but seriously. If you have strong abs you could probably reach forward and grab something off the dash.

  • Shut the fuck up. Your statement has no value cause its the fucking internet you idiot. your wasting your time.

By the way I garuntee my car will win. Its a twin turbo charged mustang running mid tens.

  • And yet, nobody cares.

  • Acutally alot of people care. and alot of people would enjoy having this in the newer late model mustangs as well. and also an option to buy just as the motor itself from ford. only a person who hates ford would not care... so stop watching if you dont like mustangs or ford in general.

  • post us a demonstration on here

  • Yes, you obviously care that you will win but no one else gives a damn about you. Cars are about fun. You NEED something else in order to feel better about yourself. Mustangs can be fubn cars win or lose.

  • Damn thats the best sounding V10 I'v heard. The Viper sounds like a V6 on steroids. I would of definitly bought this car if it went into production.

  • Why couldn't Ford have put it into production.....why??? What an ANIMAL!

  • well its one of fords modular motors. the blocks were designed to adapt to v-6, 8 and 10 cylinder configurations

  • ok correction its in 5.0 mustang and super fords. type in V10 mustang in the search box

  • ok once and for all, this was originally a 4.6 DOHC 32V engine with an extra pair of cyldinders grafted on and stretched heads. IT IS NOT RELATED TO THE TRITON ENGINE FAMILY IN THE F-SERIES. It originally displaced 281 ci. but now displaces 351ci. or 5.8L. MM&FF dubbed this car the BOSS 351. call me out if im wrong but check the website and search "BOSS 351" first.

  • You're right. Motor Trend did an article on it as well. They said a lot about the engine and also mentioned that it was in no way related to the 6.8L Triton V-10.

  • the crazy shit is that this engine isnt even working hard...if Ford Racing can pull every trick in the book and get 550hp out of the out race prep 5L cammer imagine this beast with race ported heads, aggressive cams, full cat-less exhaust on C16 and a race tune?? memo to Ford: build this engine now!! ha ha

  • they shoulda just put the 6.8 v10 outta the f series trucks lol

  • ha thats what my dads f-350 has, im going to ask him if i can drop it in my stang :P

  • fuck no

  • If you think this is the 6.4L used in the Cobra and GR-1 concepts, than your the one who knows nothing about this car. This engine was made using 2 DOHC 4.6L v8s used in the Mustang Cobras from 1996-2004. Two cylinders from one engine were essentially welded on to the other. And because this engine displaced 5.8 liters, they called it the Boss 351. The result of this test mule was the 6.4L v10 your talking about. Get your facts straight before you insult people.

  • um proof? you can't go and say all this stuff without showing viable (not Wikipedia) proof.

  • its 6.8l, watch the other videos, by your math this motor is a 9.2l v16

  • First of all its a 6.8 v10, boss was the codename from ford, and it was set to go into in the 05 mustang redesign corbra, but had too much power and was put into a truck

  • its not a 6.8L. its a 6.4. i can show you viable proof of this because its the same engine that went straight into the Cobra and GR-1 concepts. it was never meant to go into the 2005 Mustang Cobra because there wasn't supposed to be another Cobra. Ford and Shelby already agreed in 2004 that they would build a new GT500 and release it in 2007.

you sir, are just talking out of your ass.

  • Show me the viable proof, And they were planning a cobra with the redesign before it actually happend, shelby just made an offer Ford coulndt refuse, so we got the gt 500. There was a supercharged 4.6 in the GR-1, IT is the exact same motor thats in the V10 Trucks, Watch the other video dumbass

  • LMAO! HE DID IT AGAIN! just like i thought.

i prove him wrong and he deletes the comment. awesome.

  • upp, yeah no way to 4.6s equal 5.8, at least we are in the ball park

  • Unless the redline is around 5K, which I HIGHLY doubt for a V10, I don't think this guy was even putting the pedal to the floor!

  • why would you doubt the redline being 5K for a V10?

  • The redline on my V8 is 7K, and V10's typically redline somewhere between 8K-9K.

  • I see... Are they better balanced or something?

  • Just high performance engines typically redline higher than a normal engine. For instance, a regular Ford Taurus redlines at around 5500 RPMs, while my Taurus SHO redlines near 7K.

  • The V10 has a smaller bore and therefore less rotating mass on each piston alowing it to easily (and more safely) rotate at a quicker rpm.

  • badass run

  • This motor come from wich car???

  • Did someone say it sounds like a Ferrari? What Ferraris are you hearing?

  • +1 ;-)

  • +1 sound like one to me.

  • @Heebda Obviously, sounds different. "recorded"

  • that motor is sex i hope they relase it

  • Damn

  • holy shit you hear this voice !!!!??? i want this car !!!!! hahhaha isnt she prety =] !! love this car she it the best!
