  • One little lad and an adult male were drownd by these floods, so please think about that when comenting on these floods. Thanks for the video footage anyway.

    John.

  • Flood water often contains sewage and all sorts of awful stuff, due to CSO's discharging into water courses after extreme rainfall events!

God forbid if something had happened to them kids getting swept away by the water on top of the risks of what was in the water!

Seriously don't try this at home!

  • Ah, twas a soft day, wee bit of drizzle!

  • It's fucking grim up north.

  • what kind of parent lets there kids do that on sight :l were going bk.... shouldent have let them go in first place.. just my opinion

  • Which moron let children on the bridge in a flood like that. Instead of just saying " we're going back ", kick their arse and get them off the bridge.

Dont give mee all that shit about, 'Thank god the kids were safe', and ' keep your vielness some where else' , just think, maybee i have acctually seen it, because i live near there, and the field near my house was just like that, it was COOL but also quite scary, im just so glad its over :)

  • Rather than say digusting things like that, spread your vileness elsewhere. Just be thankful that these kids were safe. People died during these floods.

  • i have left a comment

  • I'll never forget that day. I had an exam and was stuck at college. Luckily I managed to get home safely but it was an awful day for all concerned.

  • omg i was there wen it flood hit

  • Reading these comments is like listening to all the constant stream of mean thoughts that go through my head. It is a relief to hear that other people have them - although perhaps it is not such a good idea to express them so freely.

  • you lads are brave

  • ayup mick mate had to watch this video again its awsome but scary we never had it that bad when we were kids did we mate tho i do remember the beck flooding but this is the worst i ever seen it great footage mate 5*****

  • I heard it was really bad there.just hope its a one off, everywhere.thanks for your comment.

  • Factor 25 and a rowing boat! lol. Thanks for the comment.

  • @ektatherm this is a good day

  • the goverment are so racist to us northerners, they dint lift a finger to help us at all, but when the southern countys flooded they coudent of helped them quick enouge, GOVERMENT BASTARDS,

  • im northern and dont consider myself a different race, the reason they didnt seem to help as much was because it was so much more widespread in the north and was harder to deal with, the government did help, just not u personally

  • i wasent effected, am just thinkin of my fellow yorkhiremen who were effected badly, were one of the richest countrys on earth but cudent be botherd to help everyone even a little bit, but they care about immigrants and stuff, goverment twats, fuck them

  • how many northerners went without clean water from their taps for just over a week, i know 6 of the 50,000 in Gloucestershire who did

  • And ill you stop acting like the people from the south are from a different country, my mum has barley any money and she works every week non stop to support me and my sister! so shut up, same with my dad actually

  • yorkshire people, and people in the north, generally, bleed the southerners dry of money.of course the government spend more money on the south.there is a lot more worth saving.yorkshire is full of pikey and chavs.

  • pikey and chavs, u no thats funny coming froma pratt with a name crack whore, why are u fighting me cos am from the north, when theres immigrants and shit ruining the country and all your consered about is me, i have a great job, btw the south is known for council houses and 99 kids !!!

  • Thats another thing, the people of the north are so racist.if we sent all the immigrants back, who would do there jobs?not the yorkshire people you can bet.they will be rubbing there hands waiting for their income support and claiming sick.we need immigrants more than chavs and pikeys.FACT.

  • I've lived both north and south and I will say that atleast the northerners know how to talk to a stranger genuinly. The north is poor because it's history of industry, this country would be nothing without it.

  • People from the south pick on northerners, so south is bad

  • & if your honest you northerners also take a piss out of us southerners, just like u did here. Its ok, every city picks on another city, countries pick on other countries and so on, its the norm.

  • I guess, The whole south vs north thing is stupid if you think about it, we act like we live in different countries.

  • You have issues dude...I live in sheffield so i suggest you take into account everyone else that lives there not just the chavs cus they're useless. and its not a fact you need chavs to shout out!

  • Wizard, dont let him wind you up.Northerners are a stronger breed,we have to be.although i do beleive down south is where all the money is.

  • @wizard4513 serves you right for being northern!!!!! BICH

  • @wizard4513 totally agree even tho i live in the midlands!! different kettle of fish once ur passed luton!!! we're a lower class compared to them you see!! stuck up feckin goverment twats!!

  • One year ago today!

  • ha ha very funny!!!!!!!is that Reece dudley!he's in my mentor lol

  • That must have been a bit scary!

Great job getting that on tape, most would forget the camera and get the heck out of there, but your more like me!

  • ok what the heck happened it looks like a creek overflowed its banks or something????? but what caused it

  • This was a small part of the flooding that devastated wakefield and other citys around England. This is the bridge over a normally small stream, thats about a foot deep and about 4 foot wide.the flood was caused by a week of non stop rain.

  • dang that must really suck man in the USA in South Western part of Pennsylvania the Monongahela River has over flowed its bank from lots of snow melting and getting 3 ins. a day and melts rising the river the river is at least 15ft above its normal banks!!! and it really sucks!! just like getting a week of nonstop rain!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you should get some video footage of that and put it on here.ive had lots of comments from USA,Canada,Latin America and even africa.its a great way to show your video and it will last longer than us.thanks again for your comment.

  • only one problem now than man :( i don't have camera yet but i could maybe take some photos and post them on here but like i said it looks like a river about to explode into a raging rapids! but with 1 week of rainless days its really gone down

  • if anybody dares to say Hose pipe ban this summer i'll hit them.

  • It will be a bit sunny for 2 days and there will be a hosepipe ban.even if there was a flood the week before.I dont believe in global warning but everthings gone mad round hear, with the extream winds and earthquakes.we just had another flood in wakefield but it wasnt as bad as this one.all in less than a year.

  • I agree the worlds gone mad.hear in the north east it was sunny one morning just after xmas and there were swarms of midges flying about it was like a spring morning, and we dont get real winters anymore. somthing is going on its just screwed up!!!

  • hahahaha yeah i no, it happens every year though, does anyone actuly take any notice?

one year were gona actuly have a realy bad drought and no one will beleav them

  • wow gd video. thats near where jane mcdonald lived isnt it.

    wicked

    love sam xxx

  • You should have played it at realtime, or simply added music. The repeated sound track from the original footage gets irritating.

I agree though... There was hardly any coverage of the northern floods, but the southerners wept. They must be more important than us! HAHA!

  • doing a presentation on this at college soon...hope your house is ok now

  • we're going back! I give em 3 chances then drag em by the scruff of the neck and give em a hiding afterwards for not doing as they're told

  • I live in Wakefield and work around that area. I saw pictures of the nearby surgery which almost got flooded out too. Its been tragic for many families who are still living in houses wrecked by the floods.

  • ha... what makes me laugh, is that the UK apparently wasn't getting any floods until everyone down south got them, then all of a sudden everyone craps themselves!

There was hardly anything in the news about floods up north, down south it was pandemonium, i guess we can just cope with these things better up north ;)

  • There's just no telling kids - poor lad is like a record, come on were going back - but no no no. Just hope everyone was ok in all the video clips taken thru-out June/July. Great clip !!!

  • WOW thats freaking awesome!!!

  • if the ice melts into water >sea will go down because of surface area decrease and global warming isnt real THERE ISNT ENOUGH CO2 FOR THIS TO BE HAPPENING!! THE SEA MAKES MORE CO2 THAN MAN MADE BY LIKE 30 TIMES. plus in grenhouse gas chart water vapour>83% of it and co2> 5% so isnt water vapour causing glob warmin!?sea levels have been way higher b4 so has the temp 2000 yrs ago in medival times the temp was really! high! there was no cars and factories back there

  • no! you are wrong. If the ice melts then the sea level WILL...... RISE.

Stick an ice cube in your coffee and see what happens.

and how the hell do you know that there wern't any cars or factories back then? were you there because you sound quite sure of it!?

  • no! you are wrong. If the ice melts then the sea level WILL...... RISE.

Stick an ice cube in your coffee and see what happens.

and how the hell do you know that there wern't any cars or factories back then? were you there because you sound quite sure of it!?

  • Sir, this depends on whether the ice in fully under water, or above water. Ice has exactly the same mass as water, and also the same weight.

  • sharlo want that bad but still flooded..... wer going back!!!! com'on wer goin back! jbarry1991 is gay vvvvv

  • crickey that was flanshaw - it wasnt that bad in crofton...

  • sorry what was that? did you say that you were going back??

  • great vid. i think i get the message your going back though

  • our school gt closed down lol yeye

  • Good job a car never came floating down lol.

  • lol my hous ewas around the corner on flanshaw i posted a vid of that area and the brige too

  • this is horrible and scary. Dont you guys think that England shouldn't have spent trillions on Iraq war and should have spent this money to improve the infrastructure...Hospitals, transport, local crimes, jobs, etc.?

  • bwasquas, yes i do think that the war in iraq is pointless and a waist of money and the money could be spent on more important things, but i also think that spending money on imigrants who hate this country is very stupid.

if someone hated coming to my house they wouldnt get in the door,as im sure that would be the same with you.i hate racists of any color or religion.

  • we need oil ...ha ha

  • Common sense should dictate not to go on a flooded bridge as it could wash away. Lucky we where just watching it here and not reading about you in the post.

  • It's not amazing at all - it's stupid and irresponsible. There were enough people genuinely stuck and in distress having to be rescued from their houses - and they you are deliberately putting yourselves in danger either through slipping or catching something from the water. It may seem like fun now, but if you catch leptospirosis or something similar, you won't be laughing. What if you'd fallen? You'd be happy to waste the rescuers' time when they are genuinely needed elsewhere?

  • Ive explained several times that this wasnt irresponsible, this was trying to get home!!!!in an ideal world i wouldnt have left my house.

  • OMG that wild flooding!

  • FFS, are you lot stupid.. christ, all that sewage in the water, id stay at home!

  • wow, that is scary! good luck to all you! hope the rains and floods are subsiding and people are starting to rebuild now. This was caused by storms in Northern England plus torrential rain on top of that? Water is a such powerful force! We've had two major floods past 7 years (East Coast US) from Hurricane and Noreaster - they are horrible to deal with!! be safe!!

  • curumina1 thank you for your comments.and thanks for the advice. This is the first major flood that we have had in this area in over 40years.

  • How many times did you have to tell that kid "We're going back"?

  • Mayor of London KEN LIVINGSTONE should give up already.

There are fucking severe delays fucking tube everyday.

  • poor people..your silly gvrnmnt messed up with Russia..Thank Russians for being so nice and not getting your little islands on the bottom of the ocean..

  • what the fuck????? russa messed up with the uk thats why the uk wont gave them aid for ther people and i very much think that it would be uk and us putting russia at the bottom of the ocean!!!!

  • more to cum yet ppl hold tight

  • mad to think ,if it got like that all over the uk. the young ones are loving it,if anything..

  • hows that amzing? bloody rubbish

  • kids today eh!!!if it aint an oiled up rapper, they aint intrested!!!damon, look up homoerotic, before deciding what is amazing.

  • yer tis reece =] lol u know him?

  • Ive heard the floods were caused by a Muslim suicide plumber!!!!

  • Nice one! That's the best of the floods I've seen yet. If ya wanna post it as a response to mine go for it. People should see this to get an idea of the force of that water :-) Thanks for posting, and nice trick with the slowmo ;-)

  • Thank you for your comment.I know it looks a bit dangerous but that bridge has been made to withstand the flood.the fencing and bridge was secure and had no damage whatsoever.thanks again for your comment and anyone reading this should have a look at lactosetheintolents video of the floods.remarkable!

  • im in lincolnshire louth got badly hit but where i am on the coast i jsut about escaped untouched

  • this is just a small beck that is usually about 10inch deep . its the first time in memory that its ever got this bad.

btw i was lucky, i didn't get any floods

  • Wakey must die!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

  • well, all we need now is fire and a plague of frogs, then i will let your people go!!!

  • Was the water still rising when you were crossing?

    Is the bridge still there?

Don't think I would have chanced it seeing the amount of water it was holding back with all the rubbish that had built up behind the bridge!!!

    Thanks for posting it!

  • we were trying to get across it but it was realy strong.thats why we turned back.the bridge was built to withstand a flood as the other one had been washed away in a previous flood so we new it wasnt going to collapse.but it was still quite scary.did it flood were you are?

  • Nah! I,m in Scotland. Better drained though we still get the floods in some areas.

The river here (The Don - Aberdeenshire) can have some spectacular floods. They are noe building on these flood plains, so I wait to see what happens!!!

Worst flood I have ever seen was in the River Spey.

Barns, caravans and houses were going down it!

  • no rotherham where i live and sheffield were hit worst

  • these were hit the hardest, but i know hull got it pretty bad too.

  • How many times did you say "come on we're going back now" ! Obviously no one was taking no notice.

  • i actually only said it once,i slowed the video down to 30per cent to get the inpact, but had to put the audio on more times to cover it.

  • Yeah It's a lovely place amsterdam everybody is chilled out here is just really lovely here

  • Wow! That is an amazing video (a bit scary too lol). I live on the prairies in Canada ( a province called Saskatchewan to be exact) and we don't have many floods like that in my area. What we do have is snow storms. Check out my videos and see. :)) Once again awesome job. The whole family really enjoyed this video. :))

  • yeh,ive just seen your videos.that looks cold.lol.you look to have a lot of land for the kids to play.

  • Not as much land as many, I live on an acreage. :)) But it is a big country and farming is the primary industry in my area.:)) It is not uncommon for famers to own hundreds or even a couple thousand acres of land. :))

  • well it looks a realy nice place.sell me that house in the snow.lol

  • no im born in Amsterdam

but my mum is english so my granddad en grandma and uncle's and aunty's live in England im 7 times a year in england
