Ciaooo Great sound !!! very very good . Frome your note i can listen the heart...and this is ok !! ca i have in my e-mail this "backing track" ....please !!! Thamk you & Compliments (my e-mail : peppegil@gmail.com)
I have just started playing the tenor saxophone after having played the clarinet for years (as an amateur). I'm looking for some inspiration, and I sure found one - right here. Stan Getz and Ben Webster might just go home - if they could. This is how a tenor saxophone should sound. Congrats from Norway.
Dear Mr. Graves, I think you are a wonderful player. Could you please let me know what background music set up that you're using while doing your video performance? I would like to stay in touch. Winfield Gaylor My channel is Hottsaxman on You Tube.
His "setup" is a ton of talent, and dozens of years of dedication. Aubra, you sound amazing on everything I hear! But FWIW, I like you best on the Conn and the Link.
After trawling through the utter trash in connection with sax and sax players it is nothing short of bliss to come accross your videos and to hear a pro at work. May God grant you many many more years of giving people like me the pleasure of your skills!
if you asked Aubra what mouthpiece he uses i am sure he will tell you no matter what mouthpiece he uses he will come back to that amazing sound on any one of them .So take note all you budding sax players out there your mouth is your tone chamber not your mouthpiece. So dont go wasting money on all different mouthpieces. Graham MALTA.
@warri1000 Excellent point! Thanks for the tip. So many new sax players have this idea in their heads that the sound is all about the mouthpiece, and it is not. Once again, thanks for reminding all of us this important message.
Right now it's 3:30 in the morning and I am sitting in my room in Afghanistan. I have been trying to learn the tenor saxophone forever and I must tell you that you are amazing. Thanks for making what seems like a terrible time here sound as if I'm so close to heaven when I close my eyes - Always Silverlions6
well that was absolutely brilliant but just one thing! can you try not to make it look so damned easy when it's so hard to do that, thanks a real WOW!
All, I just played a gig with Aubra last weekend. He's the real deal alright. Sounded great!, and we threw a lot of things at him that he hasn't done here. Wonderful man too. 5 stars!! We should all be able to play like this at 82, yes, 82.
I'm pretty sure he's using Jamie Aebersold's play-alongs. I use em to, you can't get better backing tracks for jazz. Aubra, you sound amazing and are a great inspiration for me! Keep it up!
haha well some aebersolds could be a little...well better haha they are great but all the ones the rythm section just starts rushing and then it gets to the point where you wonder why its so hard to improvise and i would start the track over and couldnt believe how much slower it was before haha not all of them rush but most of the ones i have played have
You play with good taste and the right notes !!!! Congratulation.... who are you ?? Wich sax and mouthpiece and reed do you have ? Give me your email pls .. Marisa
wow i like this like the subtone feel, i thought you were playing a dukoff its just got the sound but its great! BTW I seen your playing with an otto link. I'm assuming your using windows to record..due to the windows movie maker beginning. What are using to record? Software and hardware?
