I don't think they carried torpedoes on Ju-88s as they were setup as dive bombers. He-111's could carry one or two torps, depending on range as they were very heavy and had a lot of drag. I went through flight school with the Army in 1970, the German students had a Colonel Liaison Officer, and at our USMC Birthday Ball that year, at Ft. Rucker, AL I was fortunate to have him at my table. He flew 111's out of Norway, and they carried torpedoes. Interesting GENTLEMAN with some great tales.

i really wonder why they use these bombs and not rather torpedos. the japanese had torpedos they could drop from planes too. it just seems more logical to me to attack a ship with an anti ship weapon if you know what i mean ^^

@happosai27 torpedo bombers have low range, high rates of attrition, and you can only carry 1 per plane.
