@diadii1 it is something about the base they moved to the same side to stage they replaced peaces at. look at 2:15 why would they move that part of illusion if it was not the key of the trick. this is wild guess by the way.

@andana3 At 2:02, you can see that the woman is skinny enough to fit within the width of the base if she squatted down or doubled over. At 2:08, you can see Michael kicking what appears to be some sort of release mechanism, and at 2:09 the male assistant is kicking another release mechanism to pop the woman down to the base. It's all about props, equipment and distraction to facilitate the illusion.
this is a cool act, we all know that all magic acts are just illusion tricks, none of the famous magicians are really magicians, so relax and enjoy the show. and don't try to figure it out you will lose the joy of watching it.

those kinda boxes that magicians use, have a depth where the objects are hidden. Usually the stands of that boxes include mirror to hide depth of the box. This is my opinion

i just totally figured it out: she got out of the cage like this: at the base of the cage there was a really tall thing holding it there was a trap door in the cage so she slipped to the base and it had a trasparent glass (magicians always use it) and than backstage she put on the same clothes as him and switched with him

if you look, as the base of the cage is being pulled away, it turns, and you can see that the panel goes all the way to the other side, so is big enough to slip inside through a trap door.
if the girl goes back with the stand, how did she get out without us noticing. Even with him standing in the way, we would've seen her walking with it. And if she was under it we could still see her.

@Shmeeshification there was a TV show where a magician revealed the tricks behind several popular illusions. after a few episodes you start realizing how ALL illusions work because similar illusions use the same tricks, the only thing that changes is the look they give to the illusion to try and make it original. with that said, the girl didn't have to get out of the cage: the trick of this illusion is that she was never in it to begin with. you guys have fun figuring the rest out :)
Its a trap door in the cage that allows her to get into the base. She is carted off to get behind the curtain.
