@51ENGINE51 LA City Fire are fans of LTI ladders and ALF is the only product you can get with an LTI ladder. They use multiple manufactors not for what Xenrus states above, but because they get a better price on the pieces of apparatus if there is competition between them, and they at the time liked both Seagrave and Pierces. Presently LA City has KME pumpers on order because KME came in with the lowest bid, meeting the specs.
are all LAFD TDA's ALF if so why, and why are the engines pierce?(as opposed to just getting pierce TDA's)
