This is way before my time as I came along 7 years later but I agree this song is definitely a whole loving song not that crap today that sells a hot body. This Song is Hot and way more beautiful than the cheap music of today!
@896700abc Actually, the way you paint the word picture brings a smile. Even when they make mischief, tots can be cute. Was out to dinner with my wife, another couple and their 2-YO son. the place had parmesan cheese on the table. The kid sprinkled it on the table and ran his toy cars through it. Guess he had seen picture of snow and was trying to run cars through the snow.
So similar to the Bollywood song ( The Bolly song was plagiarized from this one ) dil dekhe dekho ( search on this in youtube ) Such a beautiful song , sweet as sugar. Thanks Ogtotes
I will be 36 in a couple of weeks, but I remember listening to this on our big console stereo's record player when I was a young kid on Saturdays dusting with my great-grandmother and father. A time in my life that didn't last near long enough.
I'm 15 years old and have some oldies on myp mp3 player. (I like Sincerely, so I'm listening to more McGuire Sisters.) My Granny and her sister's face lit up to hear them. :)
This song takes me back. The sisters were from Miamisburg Ohio. Just south of Dayton. They have a nephew that was playing music in the area for a while. I believe that one of them was married at one time to WDTN tv sports announcer Omar Williams.
This really brings back good memories. My mom had this song on an old 78 record and other great old songs years ago.She and dad got me loving the oldie's but goodies.I still favor the older music above all...
my sister celeste and I would sing this to our mom and dad on sundays after church. we would be dressed alike. she was older so I followed her lead. that was so long ago we were so cute....
There's another song with similar lyrics to this one, & I don't know who does it, but it goes "See you in the morning/ See you in the evening/ See you at suppertime". If anyone knows it, please post it- Or at least tell me who it's by. I can't find it anywhere on the internet!
Great old song ! Love it ! This is a wonderful version ! Nice video ! Thank you applepiegwendy for sharing ! Many thanks to ogtotes for uploading ! 5*****+
When I was a kid my mother used to hum this song and it just stuck in my mind for the last 43 years. She didn't know the lyrics to this song. I had heard it in Las Vegas at the Fremont Street many years ago and it became an obsession to find this song. I finally found it on Jan. 2, 2011 on an infomercial featuring Pat Boone. The McGuire Sisters have beautiful voices. According to the Internet, they're still around.
This song brings back the memory of my little sister, Sandy, at that time about 3 1/2, had climbed up on the dinner table, with her hand in the sugar bowl, sprinkling sugar all over the place, singing this song. You had to have been there!!! lol
@896700abc When I was growing up & I am (55) sigh...ha ha, I remember waking up to my dad's alarm clock at 6:00 a.m., every morning, he was a school teacher, and it was before I started school, but I got up so that i could see him while he ate breakfast and went on his way...and i would sing this all the time. My mother is 88 years old and there are not many times when she tells me the story of remembering me singing suuugar in the mornin', suuugar in the evening, suuuuugar at supper time
@ogtotes So much better, indeed. Music was great until Britney Spears took the stage. Yes I know Britney Spears is just one singer and not a girl group but what I'm saying is when she took the stage, musical quality went downhill for the worst.
@Heegoop AMEN!!!! The Pussycats may be FINE AS HELL...But really...they may be very nice descent girls...but onstage they look like crack whores...I love The McGuire sisters because I sing with my 2 sibblings as well =)
@rioboy13 Will you have a good taste for music, then. Anyway if you like older music which is music before Britney Spears took the stage. Will that's how I typically define it. Others could define it differently. Anyway write back to me if you'd like and tell me some of your favorite artists and I'll share some of mine.
@sheltv100 Agree 100%. BTW most music these days is garbage. It made mostly for those who just want to listen to the radio and those who don't give a damn about older music. What's worse is that 95% of all the teenagers and people in thier 20s these days like to listen to the same songs over and over again and those "same songs" I speak of are songs currently on the pop charts. I'm 23 and 90% of all the music I listen to is music back in the day.
@Heegoop I was just like you when I was 23, in fact I am still that way. There is very little good music today. I like Michael Buble, and Nora Jones. Coldplay's music is also real too. Other than that, I am fed up with all this prepackaged crap from these entertainers who go on stage with their so called money-wasting cool looks and dancing and lipsinging. I know because I saw something like that when I was in Seoul once and I knew they were faking.
One of my fave songs of all time. I heard it on an episode of Mama's Family one time. I actually thought it was The Andrews Sisters that sung this. I never knew who sung it but I had been looking for this song for a while. Now I know where to look. Thanx so much.
