Wow, that Donkey Kong player reminds me of a certain Dedede Player I was fighting, he used to win every match and get a score of around 7 most of the time.
Sweet! The Diddy kong you fought against in the second match was my friend. He's been playing a lot of Brawls online over the weekend, and I immediately recognized his fighting style. He keeps defeating me with meteor smashes as well. He mentioned a battle in which he (I quote) "kicked a Bowser's ass", and he said his partner was a Fox player.
He didn't play as Diddy in every match though. It looks as though he picked Random characters as well, though I think I was seeing a bunch of Final Destination in this room too.
I'm pretty sure everyone sees K.K. Slider if the person who chose Smashville on Saturday gets picked. I've seen K.K. Slider on Sunday in my time zone.
If you footstool jump on someone in midair, they lose all momentum and fall down. The game doesn't let them recover immediately, so it could be useful against characters with bad recoveries, or just to help your own recovery.
Oh yeah, because everyone will always hear the same song in a match, right?
I've been hearing a lot about Footstool Jumping from this topic, so I've got a good idea about how to use it. Of course, actually using it is another story.
I've noticed that the toadstool jumps can stun characters if you use it while they are on the ground. I was in a sudden death and they TS jumped me and finished me before I could move.
wow this was smashvillmania i guess these brawl players learned that there are far better places then just final destination im just so sick of final destination and this and that it's just getting old the fact that i played the final destination version in melee uhh these people dont get tired of it and we sure have the same point of view. great vid by the way
Footstool jumping definitely can be useful, its a good set up to a few different techniques, and can almost be used as a mini meteor smash when done off the stage.
Bowser has pretty predictable recovery, hence the 2 meteors, but the fact that you caught on and started avoiding them says a lot.
Nice aim with the Wario waft, I am terrible with aiming that move, but then again, I have no idea where its hit boxes really are.
Fun matches it looked like, your not as bad as you think you are, haha.
All of my Falls came from Diddy, just as most of my fall on the fourth match came from Ganondorf. I lost most of my matches, it seems, because one other player overwhelmed me. I should've tried to come up with a way to mess up Diddy's meteor-smashing, as it seems he has a hard time getting back--if I had edge-grabbed at the right time, I could've caused Diddy's score to plummet.
I seem to be getting better with Wario, which is awesome, as I like Wario as a character.
Ahhh edge-hogging, how I love doing that. That Diddy went for the ledge quite often, so it would have messed him up bad.
Thinking and remembering this sort of stuff will really help you to improve for one, recognizing problems and fixing them is a fundamental troubleshooting ability that works fine everywhere, not just in brawl.
If you can learn him, Wario is a very good character. He has a bit of a learning curve however. I wish I was better with him actually, as he is rather fun to play as.
Wario is one of the few characters whom I could think of all four special moves as I'm playing. Even with Ness, whom I played as the most in Melee, I still always forget that he and Lucas can absorb energy projectiles.
footstool jump is good for messing with ppls recoveries especially yoshi, also good for some really good advance combos. look up footstool combos on youtube
Footstool Jumps can mess up opponents when you're both trying to recover at the same time. I'm assuming it's also useful for certain meteor smashes, but I'm not sure.
Thanks. So that's what they're for. I was wondering, since they could just as easily attack above them and mess up your Footstool Jump. But I suppose that's why it's considered an advanced move.
its mainly when you're both smashed off and whoever is higher to take the advantage. the opponent wont attack bcuz they will b likely to die. they try to outrun u to the platform.
Heh, I was hoping that DK player was me. I find it quite rare to find good DK players in a Basic Brawl (Team Battle not as rare) that it almost feels like I'm the only one using em...
However, I do believe I've ran into that Ganondorf player, though we were just screwin around.
I'm a jack of all trades in Smash Bros. Because of that, I'm a master of none. I find myself using general strategies that work for every character, only varying slightly between characters.
Hopefully, as I continue to play, I'll be able to vary my strategies more to fit the character I'm using.
@ 06:39 I didnt even know you could fly up through the stage when you do your Final Smash with Wolf if you fall off the stage. That's awesome!!!

The footstool jumping is useful for two things:
1. It acts as a meteor smash of sorts
2. It gives you another jump (and lets you use your 3rd jump again)
snowyarticuno 3 years ago
So it counts as landing?
Overhazard 3 years ago
Essentially.

I find it ironic how you were trying to find a use for footstooling, but Diddy killed you once in the next battle by footstooling you.

No mention of K.K. Slider in concert?
Overhazard 3 years ago
Yeah, he occasionally picks random characters, but he mostly plays as Diddy Kong.
I don't recall if he mentioned K.K. Slider, but he mentioned Smashville for sure.

Does it stun them long enough for them to get back over and attack?
Overhazard 3 years ago
Yes. I should have saved the replay of it. I was Wario playing against Toon Link. He did it, then used his back air and sent me flying.

No, I got a lot of Final Destination anyway. I chose Smashville this time because this was an opportunity to see the K.K. Slider concert.

I've run into a lot of skilled Ganondorf players, so I can't be sure if I ever run into the same one.
Donkey Kong experts are indeed pretty rare, and it's almost legendary to find someone who can effectively use DK's Final Smash through the lag.

Well I suppose if you use everyone regulary(however the heck you spell it)you must get good at them all. Still, you must really have some skill
