Skillful Speech "impractical" mayurasana? Maybe for Bush, But not for Obama. All he's saying is not to let your mouth get ahead of your brain. Think before you speak, or act, might have saved us from needless war.

It's only been a few days now since I discovered the Western Australia Buddhist Society but I feel blessed for it. I wish there was a similar place near me.
A nice dhamma talk is like a sanctuary. its so nice to have these videos and "connect" with a community.. a big thank you to all those volunteers who record, edit and upload these videos. u are doing a great and much appreciated job.
Agreed. It is such a wonderful gift to be able to listen to these teachings far away from Australia. May never make it "down under", but can still put these teachings into practice here in the US. Many Thanks!
Thank you very much for this dharma talk. I am one of those who talk too much. I am also one of those who knows how to listen with great attention. Your dharma talk was very helpful and I may come out with some questions to be addressed in your private email. This is a teaching I need to get one hundred per cent right which I believe it would be with a bit of questioning you here and there. :-) Thank you for listening.
haha you are fooling yourself one who talks too much can't possibly be one who listens a lot also, since what happens when you talk and someone is also talking to you at the same time? You can't really hear them do you. You are one of the most common abundant beings in this world who talks but doesn't listen, i bet this is what you are.
I'd like to clarify to you that I stated that I have both sides the one of listening with great attention and also the one being talkative. This is because I do like very much relating myself with others. One learns a lot in the exchanging communication process with other people. There are situations in which we only listen because the person to whom we communicate needs to be listened. Though I sometimes am lead by the bad habit energy of talking in excess. Sniff! =)
People misuse this media for attack and competion, it's just another form of violence, they take one look at your "on-screen" or your page make snap judgements and send you "friend invites" to purposely critizize you and bully you without knowing the facts and that's "chickenshit"
plus my bhodi savata, its good to talk it clears the air, Plus words dont mean that much they were invented by apes. If a person is hurt, they need to learn to jog, I mean meditate, sorry
Well said Ven.Ajan Brahm. The mindfulness is the best solution for that. Mind is the forerunner before all our actions. Just beware of what you say and do. And skillful speech will protect your mind before you really do the damage for someone.
It's true. You can do far more damage with words that hurt. Words are more painful than being physically beaten. My parents used to call me " stupid ". It damage my self confidence for life.
Thank you for your talks it makes realize what I NEED to work on in my life. Again Thank You!
