i wish we had real space missions like this these days,with lifes on the line in search of the unknown,this was the epitah of human power and scientific technology,i really admire the courage of these great american heros,who worked together on this program,it could of developed into much more where has human passion gone
It wasn't actually safe. In every single Apollo mission the astronauts could have been subject to a powerful solar wind that could have killed them dead in hours.
We didn't even know that solar wind like that existed in the 60s, it was only through shear blind luck that they survived.
Hell, the rocket had less CPU power than your pocket calculator, and there was 4mm of gold foil between the astronauts and an endless vacuum.
@Virgocygni56 How about we go live on the moon and threaten to launch a few nukes or something, like the Soviet Union, there must be another race! There must be a threat, a real threat!
@SuperTennis3 Like your idea bud, Never thought of that. The moon would be a damn good launch spot. I would like to see us put a "on the moon" telescope on the dark side of the moon, then we could see some amazing things.
