how long did it take you to get used to drawing with a tablet, and what did you do to get used to it? i love drawing by hand, but coloring on PS is so much more fun, unfortunately, i'm not quite used to a tablet, and i don't really like drawing with a mouse so much because it doesn't have pen pressure ^^

@TheJohnApocalypse It's pretty easy, once you get the hang of it. The main problem for most people is getting over the disconnect between where you're drawing and where you're seeing the drawing.

@ThunderDragonHowl No, I recieved my copy of Photoshop from my aunt. However, newer tablets (from Wacom, at least) can come with Corel Painter, if I remember correctly.

@damien1989ster it depends on your tablet, the ones where you draw on the screen are quite expensive, 2000 or more dollars. the ones where you look at the monitor while drawing on the tablet are a LOT cheaper and its easier to get used to than you would think

The only problem I have with the Wacom Bamboo tablet is the sensitivity of when your pen is getting close to the tablet. It really bothers me when im trying to draw with this thing.

@Ashleybradbury concept art is generating a rough idea in your head then gettin it down while trying to keep it fun so id say anywere between 1-6 hours u dont realy want to spend more time than that coz if u work 4 a company doin concept art u want to be able to come up with a few diferent designs quite quickly so they have choice but u usualy have something to work with when u do concept art

@Ashleybradbury if u know what sort of style u wanna draw ur graphic novel in then just do that like 8 hours a day 4 bout two weeks nd u should develop a technique / the abilty to do images repetatively to get urself started and the good thing bout photoshop or whatever program u use if u keep the original files as ur skill develops u can go back nd remake earlyer images but id still say u wanna draw out ur idear in a storyboard on paper just to get it down faster nd in the rough

@MrSpyro1994 I think tablet because it saves so much time, but it takes a long time to get good at sketching/drawing on tablet. However, it doesn't take long to get used to a Cintiq. If you have the cash, Cintiq is so worth it.

The more you practice, the easier it should be to draw with a tablet. If you think it might be a problem with the tablet, try updating the driver for it.

I'm drawing with a tablet, using the stylus that comes with it. While it is possible to draw with a mouse, it is extremely unwieldy, and painfully slow.

@snjorRefur948 Yes and no, a tablet pc and tablet both use a pen for navigation and other commands, but a tablet doesn't have an actual display unless you buy a Wacom Cintiq, the tablet also doesn't have an operating system,so you can't install programs onto it, where as with a tablet pc you can.

Yes, any of the Wacom tools are awesome! Right now I own a Wacom Bambo Pen, and it, while less expensive than any of the other Wacom products, is still very good.

Why thank you! Luckily, there are several different programs to draw with, so if you have problems with one, there's another one available to use. Personally, I find Corel difficult to use, and prefer to stick with Photoshop or Paint Tool SAI.

i got my tablet free from my senpai (lower 6th,im only 3yr) she saved me 24 pounds the trust tablets are the cheapest and easiest to work with trust me u get them in asda and after messin around with it its really easy and precise also u dont need to download anything and if its a bit old like mine mess around with the wire (twist it and stuff) and it works again (make sure the light blinks thats how u know its on ) anyway bye and if u read all of this ur amazing
