  • i happened to see short film in bioscope as a child in my grandmom's village & still its one of my best memory & frankly i never enjoyed seeing movies in hall as i did in the bioscope :-)

  • Thumbs up is Scott Mosier sent you here

  • eso es como en colombia, no por la pelicula esta bien. Pero son muchas las producciones de novelas y bobadas para mantener al pueblo todo tonto

  • This short video has more life and humanity and goodness in it than 90% of the

"stuff" Hollywood spews out with dollar signs and "stars" all over them.

Thanks for sharing this thoughtful film!

  • Thank you for a gracious, gentle look at a way of life that will probably disappear.....this whole charming film is light years away from Hollywood....

    I like this very much..!

  • This is a short masterpiece of filmic storytelling.

  • All film should be cherished as much as it is here; both the process of creating, and viewing.

  • @Timisenman I agree Marklar.

  • All film should be cherished as much as it is here.

  • Holy crap I've been trying to see this film for like two years! I was trying to watch all the Oscar nominees of that year and Salim Baba was my white whale...

  • this man is like a human world history book

  • man you poor.you can make some good money with that kind of training in the USA.bot our jobs are kind of slow now.you over trained .the USA still use this old style .but the machines are new

  • This was great.

  • One of the best documentaries i have ever seen in my life. why are idiots commenting about religion here? smfh.

  • Cool video, I like it!

  • How the hell can these people afford to have a manned space program.

  • Gypsies!

  • Bello en su soledad!!!

  • A good film about the influence of film and its power. A good film about day to day life under tough conditions and not letting it get you down.

  • Wow!

  • mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • This is the best and most moving short film I have ever seen.

  • Excellent , and humbling...I get annoyed when my broadband isn't running fast enough or my emails take more than a few seconds to come through. This man seemed at peace with his role in life - his children obviously loved and respected him and from his reception on the streets he seemed a local hero. We can learn a lot from this.

  • Funny seeing kids get so excited over something so... primitive..

  • wow. amazing.

  • very good film!

  • Is that a Hungarian flag at 05:34? I'm Hungarian, and it looks like a Hungarian flag..

  • @rampagebenc23

    you magyar ? cool

but naah that flag is india look again magyarszog as you probably know better then me has a red top and nothing in the middle , but what am i telling you that you are hungarian lol , the flag here is orange -white -red with a wheel in the middle!

  • A lovely film. I loved how he was at peace knowing his sons could take over the business. Great to watch people using the resources they have instead of complaining. Anyone who hates waste will love this film!

  • hey wats up

  • pendejooo!

  • great subject , great guy, great job .well done.

  • lol

  • hm interesting

  • Well done. This is spectacular

    .

  • @dreadnot427 english spelling is not a big deal . it doesnt reflect ur intellectual capabilities . u guyz only know English we know multiple lingoz !!!

  • @pathankhan39 well said!! even uneducated hicks know how to speak english - it doesnt mean anything... ask them to try out pashto, or urdu? and watch them run...LOL

  • @Viperstings hahah yeh bro rite !!

  • I wonder how much rubees he charges to watch a fim? I would love to experience watching a film on his machine. It would be an honor, truly.

  • This video executed the art of a short documentary film. It's remarkable to continue to see how family traditions are still being carried on generation to generation. Salim Muhammad's lost art is facinating, beautiful and touching. On another pespective, hes making a living and feeding his family, while remaing loyal to the art of film. And, the best part, hes happy doing what he does.

  • what do we need for being happy?

  • nice

  • Very interesting...enjoyed getting a glimpse of the local Indian neighborhood....(a Fan)

  • In 1946, the muslims of Calcutta launched "Direct Action Day" for a separate homeland resulting in killing of thousands. Their wish was fulfilled in 1947 when Pakistan was created for the British for them.

  • @pinkyahuja666 Muslims rulez always as you know so stop crying . Till we are in India nothing will happen to India. If we are not here the non-Muslims corrupted people which is in 60% will sell these land to foreigners again.

  • @khanzafar099

muslims rule each other as slaves and do not understand freedom.

free yourself and learn how to spell and write.

  • @dybbuk4640 hahahaha you poor fellowe oops spelling mistake fellow . :)

  • Yeah sure - they rule over the gutters breeding like mice. And it is a pity that in Democracy numbers count and therefore the political parties woo you !

  • @pinkyahuja666 Every ones know 80% of people from which community is living a beggars life most of them are drunkards, thief .murderer, rapist, which even i don't appreciate. Luck is always with the hard and honest people so need to bother about good poor fellows ALLAH will definitely change their fate one day. Regarding politics how you can even say anything to Muslims you people vote on the basis of caste. which is increasing corruption in my country all these dirt has to be clean by Muslims.

  • @khanzafar099

If Bengali muslims are so great - then why is Bangladesh the gutter of the east ?

  • @pinkyahuja666 Because you stay near to that. :)

  • @khanzafar099

No way - I am a Sindhi living in Mumbai.

  • @pinkyahuja666 Finally i came to know why you are so little hearted. Even i am also a mumbaikar but not a sindhi thank god.

  • @pinkyahuja666 And you must be living in ulhasnagar.

  • @khanzafar099

So what ?We came as refugees with nothing except our faith. You are so begairat that you demanded a country foryourself and refused to go there. Pakistan was not created for Punjabis and Sindhis muslims. It was created for Indian muslims. My grandfather was a millionaire inKarachi and his property was forcibly taken by the Mohajirs. He was forced to flee to India penniless but was a millionaire again when he died.

  • @pinkyahuja666 When i have demanded a country yaar? m just 24 to small to do all these things. have i said any thing to refugees or to your grandfather i feel very bad for that. But let me tell you one thing Islam don't have limit up-to India or Pakistan it is universal. And we are not coward like others to live motherland forcibly by any tom dick and harry . All coward went to Pakistan only braves r in India.

  • @khanzafar099 And for your information my ancestors were HINDU but finally one generation start suing its brain and we became Muslim. So m not Muslim from outside like Mughals. This country belongs to me more than any one outsider.

  • @khanzafar099

Ask your grandfather whether he was in favour of Pakistan or not. 99% of the muslims of India wanted Pakistan. Not one muslim majority place where referendum was held opted for India. Jinnah was a Khoja muslim from mumbai and Liaqat was from U.P. Since the last 10 years I have noticed a change in the muslim perception and they have started to think as India as their country - before that they used to openly support Pakistan in all cricket matches !

  • @khanzafar099

I know only one in the armed forces General Tahiliyani !

Even Allama Iqbal and Jinnah's grandfather were Hindus. The former Prime minister of Pakistan Mohammed Mian Sumro is a descendent of Sumro Rajputs who fought against the Arab invaders. But today they think of the Arabs as their saviour. Once you have accepted an Arabic religion - you have sold your souls to them !

  • @pinkyahuja666 No one is Saviour of Muslims except Allah. There is nothing called buying and selling of souls in Islam. Buying and selling is done by Jhulelal followers they can sell their mother and daughter for profit. By the way your knowledge is very less about Indian army may be because you r still not Indian. Ok now a summer dhamaka offer for you give me name of 10 martyrs belonging to Sindhi Community.

  • @pinkyahuja666 Bye the way you are boy or girl.

  • In 1946, the muslims of Calcutta launched "Direct Action Day" for a separate homeland resulting in killing of thousands. Their wish was fulfilled in 1947 when Pakistan was created for the British for them. Surprisingly - rarely any muslim family of Calcutta shifted to East Pakistan. They constitute 30% of the city's population and still bring it to a standstill over frivilous isues.

  • Money is not every thing those people are happier than people in the western or European communities, they have a stronger personalities and less suicides attempts compared to westerns

  • Really amazing. The video had a certain peace about it.

  • As a documentary filmmaker, I could not have been more transfixed with this piece. The subject was arresting. The film was flawless in its execution. Simply beautiful. I mean, I just woke up, I'm drinking my morning coffee reading the morning headlines, and I took fifteen minutes to watch a video on Youtube! That alone is testament to the quality of your film. Congratulations, guys. Really terrific.

  • So many emotions enveloped me when I watched this video, and I felt sad. I can turn my computer off and walk away, and this is just another video. Though, to him this isn't a video, this is life. He cannot turn life off, or run away from it. It made me feel grateful for what I have, and prayerful that I'll never be in this situation.

  • @garf1eld029 Amen!!! We take so many things for granted this day...the man is a real survivor and a great user of the quote "necessity is mother of creativity".

  • Wow! What a fantastic display of humanity. It also makes me question my own life, all the complications I get into, all the technology I get caught up in. I just met a hand book-binder from Mexico on the subway, and still there is much demand for his work. Sometimes low-tech is the answer.

I just met a hand book-binder from Mexico on the subway, and still there is much demand for his work. I notice that I won't buy a kindle or an e-reader. I like to keep with books because, for a few moments a day, it gets me off the computer.

  • This film brings me to tears.
