very good.......lol. my mother had a 1965 convertible 2 door gold mercedes benz. Soon my 1978 mercedes benz that was imported from germany from the german ambassador in 1975 and shipped to argentina will be shipped to my house once more.
@MB250S1968 ... wanted to pay a bit of hommage to it. after the wreck ... i couldn't see her for about 2 weeks because i would cry & it hurt to look at her .. she was unrecognizable and had a deep cut across her face. i was only a child but wish i could've taken the injury instead of her.she looked so wounded & fragile. apart from this car saving my mothers life .... this hearts always belonged to vintage classics. thanks for the invite i will have a look
my family had a few different models ... this one saved my mothers life. she was on mulholland dr & collided with an 18 wheeler .. went underneath it. the doctors and accident investigator experts said if it wasn't for that car she'd been killed. thank you mb
THESE CAR'S ARE A TRUE GERMAN BEAST HANDLES LIKE THE KING OF THE ROAD.I LOVE MY 1970 280SE SHE HAS A DEEP GROWLING SOUND ABOUT HER. EL VIDEO ES HERMOSO, LOS MERCEDES SON HERMOSOS....I HAVE A W123 230E 81, BEAUTIFULL CAR, THE LAST CLASSIC MERCEDES. MERCEDES FOREVER!!!!!. SALUDOS DESDE ARGENTINA!!!!
I have had the experience of working on both P5s and this particular model. The P5 was a very outdated vehicle, built along traditional English Design ideas and a good car when driven slowly like a funeral hearse. The MB was an advanced Piece of engineering that still shines today. The MB 280 six with the mechanical injection is a superb engine, screaming wonderfully at high revs, except for a flaw in the valve train that is fixable. The P5 six threw connecting rods as if it still was 1928....
@fairvoice Thanks for the info, I can't really argue since Rover has gone and Merc is in rude health. Horses for courses I suppose, the British are great at sedate luxury, absorbent handling etc the Germans do rock hard suspension and autobahn security. The newer s-classes never did quite outdo Jag XJ for ride and handling though. All Mercs have a hardness to their character that isn't so endearing as the best luxury cars eg Opel Senator, Peugeot 604 and XJ 6.
Okay, I have to say it...what a classy bit of work at 1:02, damn. Now to the cars...the 108/109 series, what a wonderful, straightforward design, an icon of the 1960's, the car the establishment and the hip crowd could all love...great video of th car that did so much to build Mercedes Benz reputation in the U.S., and after all these years, they still look modern and chic...thanks for the video, now I have a nice collection to show my younger friends how class looked back in the day...:-)

my father bought a 1968 280s manual in the late 80s. Fantasic car! He wishes ever since he sold it in 2001 that he'd kept it

Mercedes-Benz W108 US spec. are pretty ugly.
Euro-specs W108 is better than the US.

One of the most beautiful automobiles ever ! Exquisite in every detail except perhaps it´s dashboard ,
I hope Mercedes would make a modern contemporary reinterpretation with contemporary mechanics of it´s best models like Jaguar and Mini Cooper did ,
That would be wonderful
