I find this so facinating! I am a Senior Ladies Ice Skater, and this is just amazing! I can't believe how she does everything that we do but without ice. I would be petrified of falling on the wood (no pun intended). Falling on ice takes out some of the pain at least. Very, very awesome!! :D

She should have made her double lutz/euler/double flip the double lutz/ double loop combo that she does in the instructional video for the USARS. Such a strong skater though.

i also knew April back then, and let me tell you....in a time where it was hard to get a newpaper clipping, this girl had coverage on the local TV .....we use to watch her train before sessions....i knew she was good.....didnt know how good until tonight when i talked to her again.....amazing girl and even more amazing mother!.cudos April..glad we talked!!!...and yes Keith.....be proud!!!...not many can say they were a 6 time world team member and then above that win a GOLD...True Champion!!

GREAT VIDEO! I skated spped at her home rink back in those days. She was amazing to watch. In fact she skated speed with us for a short time also. Just got back in contact with her after all these years. AMAZING TALENT!!!

Thank you for posting this. April is a personal friend of mine, and we used to skate for fun together. I appreciate someone putting up a video of her gracious skills that she worked so hard at.

I agree. It may be nothing but double jumps, but the girl has such joy out there. The program viewed really nicely in person as well. This video does not show the speed with which she skated that year. She has a very atypical spotting motion with her head when she is mid-air on her jumps and also in her spins. But she seemed to have mastered it pretty darned well. I loved watching her out there.
