  • Dave, great video love it.. is it me or what but around 4 minutes i heard piano music WTF

  • I'm loving the Union Jack and Saint George flags!

Good to see the Canadian's supporting us lot!

  • Did you get any grease on your weiner during the nude repair? LOL!

  • your awesome you can fix anything hey you should do a video on how to set carbs on a polaris indy i got a 1992 indy 488cc fan motor and cant get it

  • it's got a hemi in it! lol

  • i am not 100% sure but i do believe that the exhaust cam has to 10 degrees off the head if u look at the video it was like that b4 u took it apart

  • oh, your exaust cam is 1 notch in advance...

  • same exact motor as my bike(klr 250), theyre pretty easy to go through

  • I tried to repair my xr80 valves, but I was unable to make a good seal. I tried and tried and tried. Is there a better way to fix them?

  • I have a Mojave and it is always hard to start. and it has been like that since the va new

  • dave thanks for those great videos i have learned much form you

  • so.. i have a kx 125 and it always floods.. runs great but always fouls plugs! why is it doing this??

  • QUESTION Dave, is it worth buying a manual cam chain tensioner?? ..the self adjusting ones always seem to screw up

  • Dave is like the Chuck Norris of automotive stuff.

  • About 25 years ago, I saw a rocker arm on a 402 big block break due to metal fatigue .

  • Dave you are the FUCKING MAN!

  • YAYYY ur backkk on youtube! dave i got a question for you, i got a 96 suzuki quadrunner 250 , its hard to start and when it does start up, it idles fine but has no midrange/high range power when i hit the gas it just bogs and smokes alot of blue smoke , i was thinking it could be either the rings or the valves, but is there anything else you think it may be? plz get bk 2 me thanks dave!!!

  • Dave love your repair vids too,you need more of them!!!!

  • great job

  • Good job dave

  • I wish I had a mechanic like you living near me, a few cases of beer and viola my bike is fixed.

  • you should be a fucking teacher dude

  • great to see you back dave. great video. i have a friend that got a honda xr100 off craigslist and not being an expert, he traded his trx90 and $200. so it was getting really hot. and smoking like a 2 stroke. loosing compression. he needs a new top end and the guy didnt tell him.... what a a$s

  • I saw your earlier vid of this trick. I ended up using it on my Listeroid after it ate a cam counter gear. Still running strong!

  • I'd have had to make Dave look good by pulling a big wheelie right out of the garage. If my '86 Suzuki LT230 will do it, that thing should.

  • dave i have a old kawasaki bayou 220 i think its a 86 but when we go to start it it wont start it has fuel and all the carb spits smoke out it when running and you have to have it on full choke and a little gas for it to idle could it need a carb clean or could something be broken and it doesnt have a exxsahst baffle well it does but its cracked ran before until we didnt drive it for 4 days

  • haha slam the whole bitch back together

  • you are one rough bodgy fucker

  • The problem with bending the valves back is the valves are case hardened which means the out side of the valve is hardened for strength but the inside is soft for durability. When you bend the valves and re-bend them like what your doing it durasticly weekins the valves case harden thus alowing the valve to brake easier in the future.

  • i remember the old video :D

  • @RedNeckRectum- he said this was a "redneck repair". The redneck way isnt gonna be by the book. And anyways your name is redneckrectum, i dont see why you would approve of a redneck repair.

  • dave listening to classical music O.O bring on the 70s rock and roll

  • Still hard to start! You were that far into the motor and didn't replace the valves? tsk tsk. I bet the compression is still below spec causing the hard start. I don't understand why people will go through all that trouble only to half fix the problem. RedneckRectum does not approve of this repair

  • @RedneckRectum But then again, you are not Dave the man, the myth, the legend. You are simply trying too hard.

  • Dave its sooo great having you back on "The Tube" You rock and I've missed all your great, educational videos. Thanks so much for everything.

  • well done.

  • Like there was any doubt!...lol...Thanks for sharing Dave.

  • please get and HD camera. Davidsfarm in 720 or 1080 would be the best!

  • Dave, Gil Shaham in the foreground?

Mario Lanza & Tito Schippa make fabulous tunage too!

10:21 Most people would edit that segment out however your honesty (even if not your fault) is astounding! A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

  • you have the touch Dave !!! good stuff.

  • @mountdewglass1943 Classical, i do my best work with that kinda music.

  • wtg dave

  • clean that shop up.... more room to work on shit

  • Opps. Forgot to rate it cute. youtube needs to ad a "hot" reaction button.

  • I am happy to see the videos are coming again.

  • Dave, nobody can do it like you do.

was this a nude repair until the guy showed up? sometimes it seems like you do your best work in the nude that is why i was asking.

i learn so much from you.

  • @DoubleEntendreSongs almost everything i made or fix at the farm is done that way. the best way to work there is . so much more comfotable and enjoyable.

  • @Davidsfarmlives lol entendre youre wanting in bad. anyhoo dave well done. glad the old daves farm is back in any way shape or form. this is where i steer people who need to know how to do one thing or anyother thing. because odds are youve covered it with a video of yours. or if not specifically, youve, coered it in a roundabout way Eh?. anyhoo agreed workin in teh birthday suit soooo much more comfy. ( just one prob for me, i live on a 7 acre plot in city. theyd disagree wiht me doing this lol

  • how did he buy it without testing it?

  • @andruha11234 he saw it run , but never drove it.

  • Cool. Wish I could do that! Maybe I will learn eventually.....

  • Must be a bitch working on it when its still in the frame!

  • Thumbs up Dave.

  • That's a really cool fix you did their, Nice! Looks like the exhaust timing mark (3:23) was way-off before you started too.

  • Um... Replace the valves and use valve lapping compound.

  • @NETWizzJbirk it has so much compression now and runs great.

  • @Davidsfarmlives Dave. got a question, Removed the Cylinder head on a honda cbr600 street bike, year 1994. had to take the cams out to do that (you knew that), forgot to line it up at tdc and removed cams. put it all back together one time and it started and ran but ran horrible. so I took it apart again and lined marks up, just took the cams out again and turned them to the correct marks and turned the motor up to TDC, now the starter cant crank and it wont run. any way to reset the timing?

  • anouther great vid dave keep em coming

  • Or is that Mozart?

  • Beethoven in the background, sweet....

  • Hey dave, probably wouldnt hurt to put a little bit of Marvel Mystery Oil in the Gas and Oil. Will help break up that carb build up on top of the Piston and help the oil out a bit.

  • I can't see the valves move side to side at all!

  • That was an awesome video Dave. Really helpful, I've always just replaced valves, I will have to try your method next time I have another victim... er, motor to work on with bent valves. Keep em' coming!

Don't know if you'd be interested in looking or if you've seen them, but I have a 1978 Garelli Supersport XL 50cc on my channel that I picked up for $100 and rebuilt. She'll go about 40 unrestricted but I'm still working on jetting it right so it's not lean.

  • That quad has a pretty small cooling fan

  • @screeminjimmy027 the chain jumped when i removed the tentioner.

  • 4:51 that's what she said!

  • good job dave

  • damn....my spelling sucks today :P

  • Too redneck, dave.... I own and use torque wrenches. I have a 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 " wrenches. I post in a motorized bike forum and had a guy say how he never uses a torque wrench, either. He did repiort back how when hios motor heated up he started getting the pistom hitting the head. he took it off, used a new gasket and torqued the head on and no more piston slap.

Problem is I don't care how many years anyone's been wrenching on things, mechanics use torque wrenches

  • @jacktheripped problem is, its not just your opionon that matters

  • @blooddimond472 What matters is hundreds of years of cylinder heads attached to cylinders using torque wrenches. It's not my idea. there's just a right way and a wrong way to do certain things and not torqueing a head down is just wrong. sure, he can get away with, maybe never have a problem. you simple can't tell what the force on each nut is, you can easily be 15 ft lbs apart in torques.

    time will tell

  • @jacktheripped Hes not a mechanic my friend

  • Cant wait for cold starts !

  • Comment removed

  • Add to favorites its helps alot, even more then likes

  • Should of used a potato.. they always work

  • Thanks - these are great videos again!!

  • I forgot to save all your previous help vids. Could do with them as reference for my old motorbike. It's burning oil on deceleration and needs it's Valve seals replacing. Whilst i'm in there, I was going to do the rest of the engine too. Having never taken an engine apart, I want to do my research beforehand so I don't make it worse lol.

  • fantastic vid, thanks for the valve tip never thought of it.

  • Keep the redneck repair vids coming.

  • Love these vids. Easier way to check for bent valves is to pour water in the port and see if it leaks past the valve. I would have lapped them in, but It runs, so more power to ya.

  • i miss this so much =(

  • Valves are expensive, would you recommend I bend back the valves like you do on a personal daily driver, registered and inspected vehicle that I own? timing belt slipped and all 16 valves are bent slightly

  • @saebbi Is this a joke or you really think it is possible? lolll

  • @beluga420 Im a graduated car mechanic with 6 years shop experience, i would never use this method on a customers car, but on my own piece of crap I believe it be worth a try, long as the valve rods dont weaken and eventually break.

I KNOW this will work and make the car start up and idle, but its how long it will last that I worry.

Ofcourse I would regrind the valve seats to seal properly.

  • @saebbi Yeah it would work of course on a old pos but on a daily driven car, I would prefer to just get new valves so you have peace of mind. If you don't give a shit about your car then yes it's worth a try lol.

  • be cool if you got a couple of animals then you could be A real farm!

  • lmfao

  • dave would of started 2 kicks bare foot

  • Dave thinks that made him look bad but it didnt the only reason it wouldnt start is it needed to build the fuel back up

  • 150 likes 0 dislike, fuck yeah daves farm is awesome

  • these are the vids that made you famous! don't want to hear "BOOO HOOO"again we love you and want to see everything you do,nothing is boring.

  • To bad they dont built guys like you anymore Dave !! hahahahahaha

  • dirty lens great video

  • At 3.22, the timing marks do not line up (thats if the crank mark is on the TDC, ) so does that mean by over reving the engine the chain has jumped on the cogs.

It been a 1993 i would have gone for a worn chain and tensioner.

If you aint replaced them it could happen again

  • I'd like to imagine it's Bloke playing the piano in the background.

  • it's great to have dave back miss all these how to videos

  • Dave they make the color of kawasaki green , thats just not the name , i painted my room the color and you just have to look at the paint sample and decide which look closest i found one called , Green oasis , and i put it on my walls and looks like kawasaki green

  • 3:24 It looks like the cam on the left is off by a tooth, maybe two!

  • @PhattyMo - i was thinking that, too. they weren't lined directly up when he took it apart...

  • What the hell kind of music were you listening to? Haha.

  • @CamBlack41 Classic music. There is no copyright infringement on that!

  • dave you are the fucking shit when it comes to mechanics . it like to see how youd do on something really fancy though lol

  • @DevinL16

You dont seem to understand the difference between repair with new expensive parts and redneck repair solutions. Usually these things come to dave for free and its great he has knowledge about getting them going for cheap too.

Thats what Davidsfarm is all about!

  • @Kizmox it was a compliment

  • Isn't that the same guy from Bloke's "Just Needs TLC" video?

  • just got slapped with some knowledge!

  • Takes me back to the good old lawn mower fixing video days :)

  • Piece of shit Kawasaki, never had a good experience with their engines.

  • a sign should read Dave Rocks! Auto & Bike repair !

  • @ruwithlee1970

How about something better: "ROCK'n Auto & Bike Repair"

  • nice fix

  • I've missed these.

  • "And it lives again to die another day! Sweet!"

    so true

  • It's always fun to see something that is "broken" being brought back to life, cos it's never broken, just not working right... :D

  • why do fuck bags feel the need to rev the shit out of quads and bikes when they get on them. shit pisses me off!

  • toke it awile to catch then dave was right it did start right up.

  • glad to see these vids again

  • Wheres the ochestral music comming from!

  • @foxdmulder

His stereo! He has to play classical music, so he doesn't get copyright strikes for having normal music playing on the radio!

  • @foxdmulder the radio..

  • Good job Dave.

  • fuck yeah Dave your the fuckin boss Namsayin!!!!!!

  • Very slow
