  • for usually bein the smaller fighter Laus was a damn beast that could hit really hard

  • Lausome!

  • unfortunately paul didnt fare as well against the other bruise brother

  • Paul Laus was great. I wish he would've stayed around longer. He never took a beating from anyone. He was one tough son of a gun. The only time I ever really saw him take a lot of punches is when Domi pulled his sweater over his head.

  • @BillSteer99 there is a clip on here of five strait fights with rob ray and rob CLEARLY wins the first 4 so im not sure how he never took a beating

  • @myPAINisSELFchosen85 Well, maybe I haven't seen those videos yet. Oh, pardon me. It sounds like I should be ashamed of myself for not seeing those! I feel so stupid now. You must think I am an asshole! I'm going to go watch those videos now. I will be back to beg for your apology. Sir, forgive me.

  • Paul used to live down the street from me in boca.. that guy is a beast

  • last fight probie had was with grant marshall of dallas.

  • So many times the refs jumped in when Probie was losing. Bob was back on his feet and still fighting. Laus won, but he should take the win and be glad the refs didn't let it continue.

  • @SCROGY how long were the refs gonna have to wait in the Ken Belanger fight for "Probie"? You're not top 5 when you take beatings like that

  • @justice008a He was on a slide at this point but Bob was the reigning HW champ for 10+ years. He made plenty of comebacks in his fights when people were beating him badly. This was just a bad stoppage. Laus should be thankful for it. A cut like that isn't going to kill him......

  • @SCROGY Hmmmm IDK; he didn't have any claim as HW champ while Dave Brown was in the NHL until he knocked Brown down in 1991. By 1995 he was being dropped by Chris Tamer, beaten badly by Sandy McCarthy and really pounded by Chris Simon. I'd have given Simon that crown by 1995. I have Probert at #8 all-time just because of the 160+ wins against elite competition in his NHL career though. He lost an awful lot of fights decisively though -- should have retired HW champ like Behn Wilson did ;)

  • @justice008a At best you could say that Brown and Bob were co champs but Brown lost to Jay Miller in their first fight and didn't avenge that loss until he dropped Miller when they were with Edm and L.A. As far as the guys like McCarthy (who I never liked because he hid behind his helmet) they were beating a washed up Probert and never would have beaten Bob in their younger years . Behn Wilson IMO did not retire as HW champ as he lost a few of his own. Notably to Nick Fotiu.

  • @SCROGY Wilson lost to Fotiu at 20 yrs old; wasn't HW champ yet, just starting. McCarthy got jumped and pounded Probert while Probert was still in Detroit; nowhere near the end of his career. The beating induced a classless move by Probert to headbutt after being outclassed by McCarthy's right hand. Wilson played his final season with a wrecked back and still won all his fights. Probert got bitch-slapped by Laus here and demoralized by Simon and Belanger -- there really is no comparison

  • @justice008a McCarthy was a cheap fighter, he had a reputation for putting his head down (while wearing his helmet) because he didn't like getting hit. But regardless Probert was past his prime at that point. Behn Wilson lost to Wensink too and also lost a few to Willi Plett (and won a few) in their classic rivalry.

  • @justice008a I was a huge fan of Behn too but he lost a few fights as well. He was a terror in Philly but after hurting his back he was never the same. The guys that were beating him would have gotten smashed by a healthy 23 year old Ben Wilson. Same as what would have happened if you had put the McCarthy that beat a washed up Probie in against the Probert of 1987.

  • @justice008a Behn Wilson is nowhere near top 10 alltime and Jay Miler wears that crown btw!

  • @ufcenforcer LOL you spelled Miller wrong btw. I'm not even sure Jay Miller is the toughest Miller of all-time. He couldn't even handle John Kordic or Chris Nilan, forcing Boston's brass to call up Brian Curran to do his work for him. Miller went 1-8 vs Dave Brown in his career; don't think he's wearing any crown

  • @justice008a Wrong , Miller beat Nilan every fight ! Thats why they called up Kordic ! Who he beat in their last fight... Miller is also 2-1-3 against Brown.

  • @47tooter Miller was outclassed badly by both Brown and Kordic -- Miller might be the only NHL fighter ever outclassed by Kordic. Dan Kordic was a better fighter than John Kordic. Miller didn't even remain standing in his last 2 fights against Brown, so I don't know where you're getting a 2-1-3 record from. Miller's legacy will be of a fighter with fists like feathers; I'm not sure he ever even knocked anyone down

  • @justice008a Jay knocked down " Mcceullen , Hunter , Stern and a few others , Chris Nilan said Jay was the toughest in the League , and he was for a few years ,, come on , Brown had to jump him from behind because Jay kicked his ass hard the fight before !

  • @47tooter I have no idea who "Mcceullen" is -- but Chris Nilan was a punching bag; Nilan still slurs his speech because Larry Playfair pounded on him so badly, Behn Wilson bloodied him twice and embarrassed him 3 times, and Nilan actually said Terry O'Reilly was the toughest he faced, not Miller. Considering how many beatings O'Reilly took I wouldn't call Chris Nilan a reliable source. Regardless you're not going to find many people to agree with you that Jay Miller was better than Dave Brown

  • @justice008a Kevin MCclellan , Oiler tough guy ,, and nilan said Miller was the best in the league at that time !

  • Win some lose some, I have seen Laus get hjis ass kicked many times...

  • Lesson learned, Dont fuck with paul laus.

  • laus was too fast.

  • I was at this game. Felt bad for Proby. Laus was tough as nails and trained in kickboxing. I saw the blood spray from Probert's head from the far side of the rink. RIP Bob Probert

  • R.I.P. Rest In Peace Probie

  • Loved watching Lauser Fight!

    Rip Probie!!

  • Loved the Lauser!

    RIP Probie!!

  • look what happens when Probert cant get his jersey off.

  • @jackslicl100 What are you trying to say? Let the fight go on then. Let's see them go for 2 minutes and then see who wins. Laus won, but so did Todd Ewen in the first fight with Probert. I hate when refs jump in when the fight is still going. Probert lost a few like this, and the guy who beat him should take the win and be glad for it.

  • YUP! Face scratch at 1:23.......

All of LAUS knuckles scratched the goons noggin

    E Z WIN for LAUS

  • Both fighter did land one big punch(a right-hand).

Laus landed a big uppercut first and bloodied Probie.

Probie cameback with a big right-hand(straight right).

Laus landed more and bloodied Probert so he gets a CLEAR WIN here.

    Nice, hard bout no doubt!

Laus and Probert has fought twice!

    I haven't seen their round1(1998-1999)!

Can someone to send their round1 to youtube please?

  • Used to have season tickets to the panthers when they first started their franchise. Laus was one of my favorite players to watch ever. Always fighting everyone!!

  • face scratching at :14 replayed at 1:23.

  • In reference to previous question:

anybody know Probert's very FIRST fight?

VS Craig Coxe in Vancouver, one of the best ever fights. The one where there in no audio, and Coxe wins the first half and then we are introduced to the size of Proberts fighting heart.

  • Probert was always getting his ass kicked in Chicago

  • Wrong!!! Probert had huge wins against the likes of Scott Parker, Tie Domi, Scott Stevens, Kelly Buchbarger, Reid Simpson, Stu Grimmson, Grant Marshall....shall I continue?????

  • Awesome fight!!! Two great NHL players, miss them both...

  • This was Bob's last fight in the NHL. Good to see it was against a true, honest tough guy like paul laus sending him on his way. We will miss you bob, the game wont be the same without you.

  • Wow. i didnt know this was Probie's last fight of his career. This was Paul's last year he played, also.

  • Yeah I checked his fight card on about 5 different web sites and they all stated that this was probie's last 5 minute major for fighting. Good point on laus as well, his knees were shot by this point is his career.

  • And he was done officially when he broke his wrist when he got into a fight with Jeff Odgers. Then he hung up the skates for good before the 02-03 season.

  • He broke his wrist against Jeff Cowan. I remember being kinda sad that that would be his last opponent.

  • Oh. Well it was against the Thrashers anyway..

  • anybody know Probert's very FIRST fight?

  • coxe

  • His first NHL regular season fight was against Coxe i think. that fight and their 2nd fight 2 years later were all-time classics.

  • It wasn't Proberts last fight. His last fight was on Februay 13, 2002 against Brad Norton

  • @Kainnmaul no the last fight was brad norton that probert had

  • hes my cuz paul

  • Rarely see Probert get cut like that 0.o good fight nonetheless

  • Toughest of all time, Paul Laus!!

    Probert gets beated like hell.
