ok i am a left handed batter.. and you do NOT want your hands at full extent.. like at 0:23... i have been trained by the San Diego Padres Major Scout and college coaches and players... They have taught me that you should have your ( left hand for me) in a "L" shape.. it increases your power unbelieveably on any kind of pitch.. it work great for me and ive hit better ever since..

I think you mean left arm but yes, you are right and the guy in the video is ignorant. Google siggys hitting clips and check the analysis section for tips. Google MLB hitting clips and compare to this guys advice.

that's wrong. hands inside means sliding the bat perpendicular to your back arm. a good swing is a rotational swing. this is, well i'm not sure what it is, but it's not good. look at ted williams swing (greatest hitter ever) and it does not look like this.

Never stay on the "top of the ball". NEVER NEVER NEVER. If you swing downward, most of the time, you will hit grounders. Pitchers throw down hill, go the ball with come in a slight downward path, so if you swing down then the bat in on plane with the ball for less than 3-4 inches, and yes that is bad. Im not saying you should swing upward, but you do need a SLIGHT upward swing, so the bat is on plane with the ball. Do your research, look at slow-motion analysis. I do, and that is my proof.

Staying inside the ball anyway will help you cause if you get inside you can hit either an inside or outside pitch. If you dont yes it messes you p how? Well in the videoyou don't stay closed for power, you pull off the ball, you're hands go out and around which makes you pull everything and then you roll over your hands(goundball). Not bad. Not bad, good with the keeping your hands in part,

but you didnt drop the bat head. What you want to do is take the knob to the ball, essentially this will keep your hands inside and above the bat head as you follow through your swing.
