The only bad thing about this game was its repetitive gameplay, mundane missions, and that's about it. I actually have to agree with XPlay, however, I find that by giving them these scores helps the developers make an even better Dead Space 2.

@Assassin197 I dunno dude, my computer always runs fine but for some reason video ads screw it up whenever they play. and you used to be able to skip ads by hitting f5, but I guess those asses at google fixed that. On some videos, there is a pop-up ad, a video ad, a side ad, and an ad at the end of the video. It's ridiculous if you ask me.

res 5 is more of a action game, as suppose to horror, to the dismay of RE fans. if you liked res 4, then you would like dead space. personally i only bought it because it was on sale and i only spent 4.99 and it had an okay rating. so from the start, i only like it because of the awesome deal, i didn't really like the game, till the last chapters, but only because it started being fast paced, like an action game! lol, once i beat it, i really liked it and cant wait for DS2. 8/10 rating

Man, I knew X-Play was crap, but damn. This review brings it to a new low. Dead Space was a fantastic game. Excellent sound design, excellent weapons, crappy as hell enemies, and a very original story. For shame, X-Play. For shame.

Hands down a 5/5. There were few gripes, as you mentioned, but nothing that didn't put this game down or make it less unique from any other survival horror. I mean what else hasn't been taken from survival horror and remixed? There just isn't much that isn't recycled lately with so many games that have come out in the past. I will say this though, the melee system was a tad off. Would've worked better if you either could lock onto a target or lunge possibly.

Eh, about right. It was a good game, but didn't have much replay value. However, it was amazing and decently lengthened to make up for it. And the DLC stuff was an interesting twist.

This is the one of few ratings that I would hve to dissagree with Xplay on. This is a fantastic game. They do an excellent job of bringing that fear factor in. This is somethingthat few games can do. It reminds me of Resident Evil 4, which is one of the greatest games ever made. It deserves a five and a game of the year award. IT SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN IT!

@EliteWalrus Dead Space came out of nowhere. It was shocking, fun, and original, but it had issues. The fact that it was so repetitive is a really big flaw. You walk through the same cooridors again and again with little breaks. The script was pretty awful. A game is not just graphics, or weapons, but also gameplay and acting and script and story. Dead Space was lacking in the areas that people other than 13-year-old fanboys care about. A 4/5 is still an A.
