  • was this at crotona park?

  • I'm trying to get a custom Goole Map started with outdoor, publicly accesible pull-up stations. If you can map some that would be great! Here's the map: tinyurl/pullup-bars!

  • His Real name is Flake!!

  • Hi Blake! 5 stars and subscribing, I'm having troubles with my diet mainly not the workout part. Do you have any suggestions? Sometimes I just dont have time to eat healthy....I also supplement with the Platinum HydroWhey from Optimum Nutrition.

  • @gilz16 OK, so I'm not Blake Adams (obviously), but I can tell you that if you want to have great results and if you want to be fit then you HAVE to make time for healthy foods. The fastest healthy foods are blending up some fruit, milk, eggs (or protein powder, but eggs are healthier) and whatever else you want in your shake. Start by cutting out unhealthy foods little by little. Keep unhealthy foods out of your house. Plan your meals if you think you won't have time and freeze them.

  • @gilz16 I know this is kind of an old comment, but I thought I would give some advice anyway. Cheers and good luck in your fitness LIFE.

  • @mhrockstar never too late! thank you very much! I will try....its really hard when you have 13 hour duty times and in the airport theres only starbucks and fast food lol

  • Yes, you have a good muscle form...

but you shold extend completely your arms, plus the movement of your legs helps you to go up... maybe if you neutralize that motion the exercise would be more efective....

    I'm just saying.

    Greetings.

  • Do em like the Marines, dead hang pullup. Lock out your elbows, full range of motion is always better. You wont be able to do as many but you'll get better results.

  • lol he looks like brad pitt

  • Great video, love what you're doing.

  • i wouldn't do pull ups on street things you might get a ticket just a heads up...

  • yeoo is that the park by 108th or 113th in manhattan???

  • wow, greatlooking guy and an awsome body

  • blake !! when doing a chin up do not use your legs...cross them behind you . I bet you can feel the difference. :)

  • Actually these ChinUps are way better as a whole body exercise and explosive workout. Moreover "Kipping Pull/ChinUps" are somehow the requirement for learning the MuscleUp.

  • those activate the postereor chain...and upper chest slightly...& are easier on the biceps

  • MUch agreed: they are superb for taxing the entire body and for training the body's muscles to explode. I see them as the core/functional cousin of the full pull-up - both are excellent in complimentary, but different, ways.

  • Wow, what a happy guy! I bet you could tell him some pretty shitty news (like somebody close to him died or something) and he'd be like "hey, this is Blake Adams and these are my abs! Thanks for watching!" lmao

Seriously, he seems like a nice dude with a great attitude. Plus he has a super-hero-sounding name!

  • BLAKE i need some advanced abdominal exercises to achieve a 6 pack.....can u tell me sum?

  • what do you eat on a daily basis?

  • dog shit.

  • how do you get so happy?

  • do you feel that doing a full range of motion is not that important (going all the way down)? your results are still great

  • I vary my pull ups from plyometric, to hang and pulls. Regardless if you routine is few reps heavy, light wieght weight lots of reps. full extension, half extension everything has its place and purpose. I would try some plyometric with a swing in the leg, and then some still hang and pulls. no different than doing a standing curl or a preacher curl both bicep, just different forms. thanks best regards blake adams

  • Oh sorry I just read this... don't mind my other other comment about the pull up form. Thanks. Have fun!

  • @2e4L Yeah, those are some sorry pullups. His results aren't from doing pullups. They are from all the cardio he's doing and his diet. Those pullups are pathetic.

  • I have a quick question. Im 16, and im male. I am cut pretty much everywhere except my chest. My arms are cut and i have a 4 pack , but i cant get my chest cut. i havent been working out very long, so i thought maybe thats the reason but do u have any suggestions?

  • A lot has to do with your age. Try doing chest workouts that focus on just the chest. pushups are nice, just make sure your can feel your pecs. If you have a gym flys work well stick your chest out and really focus on flexing the pec till it hurts. Practice muscle isolation, biceps, pecs traps, tris. then you'll have a good idea of how to know when your focusing on just your pecs. gl blake adams

  • All you do is eat right and exerciser right? No steroids of anything like that?

  • yep. you can get like he is without roids.

  • Why is he so hot and so happy?! Man I want a guy like that

  • Hey Blake! how u been? Haven't heard from you in a bit.

    Hope all is well,

    Rick

  • All right, Thanks a lot. I'll try that, and hopfully.. It will* work.

  • I would like to get 'womenly abs'. I am a kung fu student for 4 yrs, and am very much in shape and healthy. I am a 16 year old girl and I have toned legs, arms, back, butt.. everything but the abs. I have a semi tight stomach.. and I eat very healty. I also do crunches, sit ups, leg lifts, yoga exercises as well as kung fu exercises but I havent seen any results. Should I try something different? Or stick to what im doing.. just try harder? I need some guidence.. Haha

  • its great to hear your that active. Adjust the diet a touch, no soda, or any other junk. If you've already done this try adding wieght to your situps, use a 25lb wieght and bang out the same number of reps. the wieght will increase muscle mass makeing it more visible. thanks best regards blake

  • hay i was jus wondering wat cloves u wear if could msg me that would be rad

  • just some baseball gloves from the sports store. I like the shock resistance bc of some of the stunts i do.

  • Hey Blake, I am about 230 lbs, 5'10" and really wanting to get in shape. I started into football, but what we are doing right now is just weight lifting. Is there a good quick way to lose weight, and keep it off. I have watched some of your videos already. I am too heavy and do not have enough strength to do one pullup. Can you please help me?

  • football there more about the wieght training. Cardio saps the strength but will keep that extra lbs off. Try some explosive lifts, and light cardio until season is over then run 4 days a week for 45 min and you slim back down, when season comes around again cut out cardio and go straight heavy.again.

  • I am not a really good runner. I can run, not doing a sprint, for about half a mile before I stop at tops. Do I need to do extra cardio to make up for that or just keep going on walking?

  • lol, yeah keep walking, and then start running when you get your wind back. remeber your really gonna have to push yourself in the cardio, keep running and breath deep. If you want the cardio without strength loss try sprints, but you must run, not a fast jog, a death sprint and then walk and sprint again like your running from death itself.

  • dude you look like Iceman from Top Gun.

  • thanks blake, keep training and doing these videos :)

  • what should i do if i cant even do a one good pullup or chin-up im 14yrsold b-ball player and normal size and i workout usually in firedepartments gym so what exersizes would be good so after i could do chinups and pullups?

  • Do jump and hangs, kinda spring with your legs and pull. Try hanging in the chin up position and let gravity rip you down, eventually you fight gravity and pull yourself back up. also try leaving the feet on the ground and only pulling part of your wieght up. The key is to do lots of sets and reps. Do about 50 jump and hangs till failure everyother day. good luck, best regards blake adams

  • HAHA YOU said barrell roll

  • I've noticed that you never completely hang there and pull yourself up. You always stop about halfway down. Any particular reason for this?

  • when you do a full dead hang pull up the first part is on the shoulders and then the back. the way I'm doing them I'm targeting just the back.

  • is there a difference between a chin up and a pull up?

    -bri.

  • Yes. Chinups the pals face towards you and pullups they face away from you.

  • Woow, awesome, How many times at week, should I perform your workout?

  • How long did it take you to go from one pull up to literally jumping above the bar on each rep like you were earlier? That was insane! Right now I can do only one genuine wide-grip pull up without cheating at all, and a about seven clean chins., but I really want to master the bodyweight exercises. Also, even the attempted barrel roll was sweet; I've never seen that before. Props man.

  • omg, you have such great muscles! how do you keep those nice toned abs? I am a young teenage girl and i eat pretty healthy. but every workout i try for my abdominols has failed. ill do those " workyour abs once a day for 6 months and see great results" only to finish and have the same as what i started with. im only 13 and i have like a little 2 pac. what do you reccomend for a girl who is young but wants great abdominols and eats healthy?

  • This stuff is freakin' inspirational. Makes me want to do push-ups and pull-ups, how perverse is that? Great job Blake!

  • I would suggest that your work the whole body. Try pullups or just jump up an hang with the arms at 90' also try pushups and some squats or kinda of like a taebo class. You'll see great results all over and the abs will follow. Try situps with weight to get larger block like abs. thanks best regards blake adams

  • Blake your the best i think at workout videos on youtube. AKA nice 6 pac

  • great video! i love your videos they can really help.

    --Jessica*

  • Now...where can I find a damn play ground....

  • Go online and look at your local city map and see where the parks are. Most of the time they have a great outdoor adult workout center, tennis courts, basketball courts, and always a playground. Best Regards Blake Adams

  • How long have you been seriously getting your body in shape and how old are you now?

  • When I moved to NYC about a year and half ago i started with one pull up, I tried out for american gladiators and almost made the show, I did 31 pullups in 30 seconds. I'm 26 now.

  • Great videos, keep posting its really great.

  • when you do lets say average distance between hands for pullups with your arms facing you what muscle does that workout? and when your arms are faceing away from you what muscle is that?

  • when the palms are facing you it puts more work on the biceps.

  • You have great ideas for workouts, keep posting mate.

  • Keep up the good work, Blake.

  • Dude this is just a regullar training. Im doing all of this at home, but is a nice that you make a videos like that its a useful and great!

  • hey blake, i really really respect your work, your body is amazing. I have 2 questions, please tell me, i cant do even a single pull up, how can i get used to pull ups? and second, you are using whey powder but it contains sweeteners, arent they dangerous?

  • If you can't do one pull up try negatives. Grab the bar and kinda jump and pull. Once your chin is above the bar, hang until gravity pulls you down. You could do sets of jump/pullups afterwards also. I love whey, its about the only sweet thing in my diet. Thanks Best Regards Blake Adams

  • ur the man, keep it up

  • What is the best way to keep a balanced diet? Can you make a video of you in the supermarket?

  • what a great idea, i defeintly will. thanks Blake Adams. Plz leave comments like this. Not only is it a great ? but a great suggestion too.

  • Awesome vids! Are these vids taken in NY City?

  • yes they are, i will have a whole series that I will shoot down south soon. Thanks Blake Adams

  • man u aint no fuck around dude, ur straight to the point, keep up these vids

  • Damn, I need to get one of those weighed vests! And walk around with them the entire weekend, do lots of exercise. I'd be very curious on how I'd feel once I took the thing off. Very light, I guess.

  • hey you should check out the "thug workout" it is alot of pullups and pushups type thing on youtube that is what brought me to your videos it is awsome i remember impressing all my friends and family when i started boxing by just doing bodyweight stuff who needs gyms they just cost money and waste your time

  • Awesome. A weighted vest is definately a good investment. I have the V-max 100lbs vest. Makes everyday exercise a blast.

  • Greetings from New Zealand Blake,I just started 5 weeks ago at the gym and when browsing youtube for help found your exercise clips.PRIMO! I use you as my role model of what I want to look and feel like when I go out training or just relaxing.Awsome stuff mate keep it up.

  • So Blake. These are all nice weather workouts. What do you do when it's cold and nasty?

  • I will post some more indoor training. I do have one on "Personal Trainer Teaches Sparatan Workout". I also give a demonstration of a gym workout. I am going to revamp both of these though and make them more complete. A door way pullup bar is a great place to start. Bang out as many pullups as you can during commercials. Thanks for the ? I'll have some new videos soon. Best Regards Blake Adams

  • You look great. What's your diet like?

  • Lots of protein shakes/fruit smoothies. Thanks, Blake

  • Man, I gotta give it to you. Your body weight/strength ratio is pretty awesome. I never thought about doing those "throw" pull-ups. I could probably get a couple, but not anywhere as many as u did. Gives me something to work on. You should make an exercise video for advanced people....I'd buy it, believe that.

  • I defiently will. Pull ups are more difficult the farther wider your grip. Challenge yourself with as many wide grip ones as you can do and then try a closer grip. Thanks Best Regards Blake Adams

  • Just wondering, could you post a vid of pull ups from a dead hang all the way up to the top, ie. chin above the bar? I've been trying to get my pullups going, and can do five in a row w/ a shoulder wide grip, but...can't get the chin too far above the bar. Thanks.

  • thanks alot for your fast reply blake.

i'm going to start my exercising ASAP and will keep you updated in my progress

thanks for the info on the protein shakes, i will be sure to make one soon :)

thanks for your dedication, keep the videos coming!

    tom

  • thanks for the quick reply blake.

i live about 2 streets away from the beach and i think beach running would be a good idea, do you think that would be a good place for jogging/running?

as for the protein shakes, i think that would be really good because i have a blender but i don't seem to use it that much.

is it possible to get some good protein shake recipes off you?

    thanks blake

  • The beach is one of my favorite places to run. Make sure to where sunscreen. You can put everything on this list in your shake. I like chocolate protien, milk, ice for a more of a smoothie affect, bannana, peanut butter, ovaltine, strawberries. It's not healthy but taste good, a shot of choclate syrup. I usually just do choclate protien, milk, 3 cubes ice, and a bunch of sliced frozen bannana's

  • hey blake

first of all i really love your videos. you've shown me alot of exercises i can do that don't require a gym membership, and that helps alot.

i've been wanting to lose weight for a long time but i guess i never had the motivation..

i mainly want to lose weight from my stomach at the moment, i have a bit of a "pot belly"

i was wondering what exercises are the best to lose weight from my stomach? should i do more ab exercises?

thanks blake, keep the videos coming!

  • Great Question, I would suggest that you jog/swim/climb any type of aerobic workout that you can for atleast 30minutes to an hour everday that you can. Don't drink soda or other sugar drinks there real bad. Try eating blended protien shakes and fruit smoothies there quick and cheap. Do ab exercises, but the best thing for the stomach is going to be diet/aerobic Best Regards Blake Adams

  • thanks for the quick reply blake.

  • Great question, Do ab exercises but you will see the best results by adding in atleast a 30min to 1 hour jog/swim/climb and by eating blended meals. Diet is a big part of getting your BMI to a point where your abdominal muscles can show. The blender is great for soy protien shakes, and fruit smoothies. Best Regards Blake Adams

  • thankyou sooooo much for your advice and for getting back to me so quickly, i was thinking about doing this program and now your opinions have def. made me more positive about trying this 'kate morgan' shake thingy ma jiggy lol....will keep ya posted!!! thanks again

  • hey there i was just wondering what you thought about shakes as a diet.........can they do more harm than good......just wanted to lose a little bit of weight quickly to motivate me, then more slowly after i lose a few pounds :-)......would love to hear your opinion

  • Shakes are great, protien/bannana's/ice. I also like orange juice/pinapple/strawberry. I wouldn't eat only shakes. I advise jogging/swimming/jumping rope to loose weight quickly. Try one of these activities about 5 times a week for atleast 30 minutes, try for an hour. Best Regards Blake Adams

  • i tried the shake diet & lasted about 1 week, didn't enjoy eating only 120g of protein a day. my god the list of foods you couldn't eat were endless, & then at the end u had to pretty much stay away from carbs 4ever. so instead am doin a program they send you meals.. i hate the dinners so i will be doing the breakfast lunches & snacks & cook my own dinners...will keep you posted. plus how do you stay so motivated? i feel so lazy & find it hard 2 get my ass up off the couch any hints??

  • sorry for the dbl post but it limits u to 500 characters.....just wondered what kind of meals you eat, any good cooking books you use??? thanks soo much :-)

  • I love the suggestion, and I am definetly going to apply dynamic streching to the routine. I apprciate the interaction a lot. I'll have a good back workout soon that doesn't require a pullup bar aslo. Best Regards Blake Adams

  • Do you do static style stretches? Because if you do, I would suggest dynamic stretches instead before you workout, then a warm up. Either than that, great workout dude! I can never get the chance to use pullup bars, but I do those lower abs workouts, they do help!
