  • well, i got that syndrome, and i wish people really knew how it is like...

  • Poop

  • 0:52 song?

  • This movie isnt a "How to" video of how to deal with someone with aspergers. I have it (so they say), and I'm a pretty difficult person for a relationship, but for different reasons then Adam in this video. Nothing is just a "hobby" for me, its all an obsession and I have difficulties understanding my emotions and feelings, making me paranoid, which has already lead to a breakup with my again current girlfriend.

  • Beautiful movie

  • @Lauali2000

The song is called "When U Love Somebody" by the Fruit Bats

  • @iseespots0o0o

    Thank you!

  • can someone tell me how this song in the movie is called

    please!!!!!!!!!

I love HUGH DANCY!! He is so very sweet

  • Hello!

I'm German and can therefore not so good English. can someone tell me how this video is called?

And I love Hugh Dancy ...he is so sweet. *-*

  • i love the movie

  • I have aspergers and I see alot of myself in him. not everything mind you. but quite a bit. i have a group on facebook called adults with aspergers and i encourage anybody who has or knows someone with aspergers to join.

  • "I can see your upset but I don't know what do to."

"If you give me a hug."

    "Yes."

"Adam I'd like you to give me a hug."

  • a masterpiece... great actors!

  • @Remmyrulez You really should watch it. It's a great movie.

  • This movie is A W E S O M E

    i adore Hugh Dancy <3

  • "I'm not forest gump you know" LOL!

  • This film made my ex sad, I guess the hard portrayal of an aspie was too much for her to deal with... rather like Beth.

  • I read the paper and they cut off 90% of my comment and only printed the most negative parts. What's bizarre was why did they remove "autistic activist" out of the text and identified me as a "protestor". Ironically the editors don't edit the other racial backgrounds of the other activists which leads me to ask this. "Why are they so afraid of autistic activists in the movement and if revealed how will the public react, especially the ASD community". Strange isn't it.

  • I have asperger's and specializes in music, political activism, and history. I'm also a hippie (that's the one thing the public will not expect for someone like me to join) and attend concerts (jam band follower), soon festivals, and rallies (including the OWS movement). I interviewed a conservative newspaper reporter and told about my "disability" and reason to attend the occupy protests and this happened...

  • does he end up using assburgers to get laid?

  • its been 2 years since i've seen this and its still a great film after seeing it for the second time :D. The ending is bitter sweet.

  • My name is Adam and I have Aspergers Syndrome.

  • Lovely film. I'd really want to meet a guy like Adam, aspies seem very intersting persons. Craig Nicholls from the Vines has it and he is just great. Someone should make a film about him too.

  • I got Asperger. Mine is worse than Adam's. It is very though. :(

  • I have my Master's degree in ASD. I am especially sensitive to the frustrations of dating when one has Asperger's Syndrome, but it is Do-able! I just married a wonderful, creative, loving man who has Asperger's. He says he is difficult because he has "ass-hole burgers"... With patience and understanding and lots of "do-overs" and asking a lot of questions for clarity, the relationship is better than a "normal" one.

  • Prince Char from Ella Enchanted Aand Moira McTaggert from X-Men First Class are in this movie. :O

  • I have Asd and I'm gonna watch this next week in my asd program.

  • iii

  • ujyrkfyy

  • what are the songs in this trailer? please reply

  • Beautifull movie caught the begging of this morning before work. I know how it feels to be Adam. :(

  • - I can see that you're upset ,, but i don't know what to do ..

-- Could you give me a hug ,,

    :)

  • Upon watching this, i really enjoyed maybe because of this scene was really new to me, i cant help feeling so inspired by this movie. Hope to find a copy soon!

  • I saw this movie last night with my mom and dad and I loved it! Great movie, I have aspergers as well and it's not easy for me to find a girlfriend, but this movie I guess I could say gave me a little bit of hope.

  • @peacemkrmattarmour02

There are several guys who don't have aspergers syndrome that have an equal level of difficultly finding a girlfriend.

  • I have Asperger's Syndrome too.

  • why are my neighbors a bunch a thick anti social cunts?

  • I have Asperger's and I'm proud! It's funny I have another friend who has Asperger's and his name is Adam too :)

  • Amazingmovie. <3

  • This movie was great! The Ending however almost killed me.

  • @themacbookone

    I totally agree with you.

  • @themacbookone whats the ending like?

  • @Elitetank87 ***SPOLER***she leaves him and he moves away where he gets a job at a planetarium, she sends him a book that she wrote (a children's picture book about raccoons living in the city, adam had shown her the roccoons that lived in the park, saying "they're not supposed to be here, but they're here. adam was the name of the raccoon who lived with his parents in central park, and the story said "they werent supposed to be there but were" he meets another girl. the end.

  • @themacbookone wat happened please tell me!!!

  • wats the song at the end of the trailer?

  • @HeLovesCulture Myself I am a highly functioning autistic teenager.. ^^ and i loved this 2.

  • I watched this movie at school btw with others with aspergers/autism..and i turned both teareyed and began to laugh.

  • now that i saw this trailer, I want to see ADAM... but first forest gump...

  • Whoever edited this trailer together needs a good slap. This trailer does the film a disservice, it's very very good and cannot be summed up in 2 and a half minutes.

  • I wanna watch it now!!! But Im on my ipad and it doesnt have flash player so I cant watch it on those free movie websites! :'(

  • Only 10 percent of Autistic people have special abilities. If you really want to give us hope by your movies, don't focus on intelligence as it can only hurt for the other 90 percent.

  • @GGGGRRRREEEE I have autism.. and you are wrong. Many I know have aspergers and autism and all of them are unique in their way..all of them can something special and are very good at it. Me,for an example..have loved dinosaurs since i was 4. sure, all aspies/autistics haven't got special abilities..but that it's only 10 % of them.. That's just wrong.

  • also i somehow seemed to have seen Sheldon Cooper in Adam?:)

  • im not forest gup ( i know i spelled tht wrong ) at least he has a sense of humor

  • a bitter sweet film which is very touching and authentic and that is why i like this film so way much more than any of those films with a big budget. i love that warm feeling especially when Adam says "I can see you are upset but i dont know what to do."...:)

  • I love this movie, but there's just one problem.. They made him the textbook version, they did not make him the more human version that is actually living out there, while you can say all you want about such things, Having aspergers for some people is not an obvious skeleton in the closet as it was for Adam. For some, its not about having trouble with society or people on the account that you act weird, its the fact that having aspergers gives you a perception that is considered Vulcan.

  • My Dad has aspergers

  • i have aspergers syndrome i act like this sometimes tooo

  • lol I thought he was saying he had ass burgers and was making it up lol

  • this movie actually made me sad.......

  • I have asperger's too

  • open ended film! love it though :) i'm falling for adam ♥ ah, hugh dancy :)

  • @DrCake11 fuck you

  • Thumbs if you're Adam :D

  • @DrCake11 A poorly acted stereotyped caricature of Aspergers who exists to teach NT women important life lessons with my awkward quirkiness before being deemed too childish to date and left to spend a sexless, romance-less life pursuing by defining obsession while some lady writes children's books about me?

God, I *hope* I'm not Adam.

  • I have Asperger's syndrome and I am a girl though most think that only boys get it I am happy that I have it because I it's who I am. I am lucky that I have awesome friends who are there for me and it is hard in school even though I am very intelligent and nerdy but I love the way I am. This movie is good and it shows that even people that have either Asperger's or just autism can find someone out there and that there is hope!

  • This is possibly one of the sweetest things I have ever seen.

  • This movie made me really admire people's struggles and i thought their love was so cute but in the end.. im just a little confused she doesn't go with him and then.. they are not together? Why is he happy?

  • Whats the song at the end?!someone plz answer!

  • @MyUnknownLover when you love somebody/fruit bats :)

  • omg i'm crying in a trailer!!! i cant believe this, i dont cry in any movie!!

  • Watch sittin on the toilet strawberry version!!! Its absolutley hilarious!!!

  • I´ve got Asperger, for me this makes me very different, and I dont care what people say about me

  • cute :) but i prefer Simple Simon ! its such a better movie!

  • After years of dating bad boys, I gave up on love and decided it wasn't worth it anymore. Then I met my current boyfriend who has asperger's, and is a big nerd. And I never been happier in my whole life. He is awesome in every way. He is unbelievably intelligent and handsome and kind. I just wish I met him first and not all the other's who wasted all my time. I love him more and more and know I always will. He is a challenge sometimes but worth it because he gives me so much more in the long run.

  • @louloupicklepuss what is aspergers?

  • @oceangirl183 its like autism

  • @louloupicklepuss you mean money!

  • @razaa09 I mean happiness!

  • @louloupicklepuss If only there were others more like you, and like your BF.

  • @louloupicklepuss your comment gives hope to a man who almost gave up hope.

  • @themacbookone Don't give up on hope!! I think one super important key to our relationship is that he told me he had this. Because I would have really thought he was just being aloof or insensitive, or overly sensitive.I was lost to why he was treating me so weird. Then I started reading up on Aspeger's and this helped. Our brain's work differently, and like I said it's a HUGE challenge. But now I feel I have the key to what he needs from me as a partner, and what to expect from him.

  • @louloupicklepuss Thats awesome. I just find it inspiring as I wish there was more people like you out there. The majority of people I have had contact with have either let me on, not been interested or have just picked me up and then shot me down. Which then makes me feel as if Im in the wrong. Speaking to female friends I get an overwhelming reaction like "I can't believe your single, your so nice" and all that. I hope you understand what I mean. Thanks for commenting back :)

  • @themacbookone There are a lot of girls like us out there, sure we get lured in by more "charming" men but after a while we get a clue. Believe me! You will see, she's out there waiting for you. Besides lots a girls prefer nerds, we like intelligence it's really sexy :) And I am thankful there are boys like you out there.

  • Comment removed

  • @louloupicklepuss More women should be like you, they should go after the sweet guys the after the bad boys, it would be a better world if it was like that.

  • @Velorynias Bullshit!!! I've worked in the mental health field for almost 30 years and have seen people who where locked up in mental institutions administered the right combination of medication and lead fulfilling lives. They came out and became employed and employers homeowners, spouses and parents. Medication is not given to people to sell medication!!! You can tell your self that if you want to but I've seen it actually make a difference.

  • damn it watched this whole damn movie. ALthough it may be a little bit realistic its definitly an awesome movie. Unfortunatly the ending isnt that awesome

  • Adam is exactly like my big bro--the only difference is that he talked about animals instead of constellation. So I was a little bit moved to tears by this trailer ha can't believe that. He will talk to me about animals like every single day and it's hard to deal with that sometimes...

I sincerely wish that someday, someday he'll find this girl who is good enough for him. For all of the people with Asperger's, don't lose hope guys!! There's still plenty of love and hope somewhere somehow :)

  • I have autism and I'm a girl. When I'm on school and look to other people on the playground who are in love, I'm a little bit jealous/confused. Sometimes I just don't get it. How do they do it? How do those girls walk to a boy, have a little conversation and flirt? Is there a codeword or something like that? I'm just wondering it.

But someone ones told me that love is something that comes to you. I really believe that.

  • @biekm Believe me, I find it hard too, walking to a boy, have a little conversation and flirt. Actually, I'm afraid to do it. But the point is: a lot of people do. Sometimes you look around and it seems that everyone found love. It's great that you still believe that love comes to you! :)

  • @biekm Yep me to! I am a girl with Asperger's and if you saw my comment before it is hard for me when comes to boys even though I have some great guy friends at my school who understand me it is hard! I am in High School by the way actually going to be a Junior and I have had a boyfriend who knew I had AS but still didn't understand me and besides he was a Jerk.

  • oh my gosh he is sooo cute!

  • Sometimes I think this movie doesn't really make sense because usually Asperger's won't ask about sex right I mean HARDLY? Adam keeps telling Beth " Are you sexually excited?" and that's the funniest part.

  • One of the greatest movies I've seen :D

  • @jill1994A Okay, I know this comment was written a year ago, but WHAT? First of all, let me just say that, yes, I really do have Aspergers. I show almost all the symptoms and I've been officially diagnosed TWICE. And yet fucktards like you who have an IQ of 78 are going around calling us dangerous? WRONG! For fuck's sake, a fucking Wikipedia article could fucking tell you otherwise. Do some fucking research next time you offensive, ignorant wet cunt!

  • wonderful movie! <3

of course, the ending was a little bit disappointing, but [spoiler] wouldn't it have been too much of an utopia if they'd really gotten married...? and either way, I think that now that Adam has managed to become kind of independent, there's a way for both of them to meet again - she even sends him this amazing children's book; unfortunateley the movie's over before we get to see their reunification... that's what I imagine! ;))

  • At the end of it, I was left a little disappointed! I was like "Please don't end here, please don't end here, please don't end here," and then the credit starts showing.... It was like they ran out of reeling time or something.. sigh...

  • The ending is so DISSAPOINTING!!!

  • I do not like its end...

  • Love this movie but the ending is quite disappointing to me! Anyone thinks Carol (the girl working with Adam in CA) will be his next?

  • Wonderful and interesting film, Hugh Dancy's performance was amazing!

  • i loved this movie sooooo much it was such a cute movie but i havent seen the first part of the movie can anyone tell me where i can find the movie or at least part one of this movie??

  • Really loved this move. So touching. :) But the ending was pretty bad. Think Beth came up with the most stupidest reason not to go :(

  • @Martinkf94 Totally agree and I why do I always find that good movies or series has to end in a bad way? And hardly ever seen one with Happy ending!

  • This work of movie director's Max Mayer was seen today. I thought that it was a remarkable piece of work. The image of taking a picture supervisor's Seamus Tierney is also wonderful. The tune of Christopher Lennertz of music is also comfortable. Of course, acting of actors such as Hugh Dancy and Rose Byrne is also wonderful.

This movie is not seen the lie because there is technical proof of the movie.

    This is the movie.

  • I adored this film, hated the ending.

It left me feeling really hollow and I couldn't figure out why.

  • @MaddiMcMurray That's exactly how I felt, too! :O I think they should have made them end up together. When she asked him why he wanted her to go, he should have said something sweet that made her go. I would have liked it much better :P

  • Such a sweet movie... I LOVED IT!!

  • such a beautiful movie

  • I love this movie and I usually don't like romantic comedies! Maybe it's because I too, have Asperger's. Not as bad as Adam's. I appear more like socially awkward. I mean I wasn't diagnosed until I was thirteen, that's how unseen it was.

I hated the ending though of this movie. It was so sad. :(

  • I cried 3 times in this movie!! So much you can relate with when you're a gf of someone who has Asperger's syndrome. Definatly a must-see with an unexpected ending (was for me anyway). Great movie.

  • Hugh Dancy soooooooo fits this role! liked him better in this than in confessions of a shopaholic :D

  • Your Body, it Eats Like a Baby...

  • Adam, i would like you to give me a hug.. awwww, so adorable.

  • @meluvmusic2010 I loved that part so much!

  • @mrhumantis yer. me too!

  • what's that song at about 0:54?? anybody? =]

  • fake syndrome i was diagnosed with it it turned out i had aspd

  • This is just a fable, which is nice to watch. It doesn't actually bear any relation to reality at all. Furthermore I don't personally find Adam as a sympathetic character at all, an interesting one, but not one to sympathise with. He's handsome, lives in a great apartment, is intelligent, and has a fantastic interesting career. I feel true sympathy for those with aspergers/autism or other developmental difficulties in places where they are afforded no understanding or proper care.

  • @bpatrice49 How do you figure that it does not have any bearing on reality? This film is one of the most accurate representations of autism/asperger's syndrome that has ever been produced. I have Asperger's, I would know, you would not.

  • @GeneticistAtheist I have family members with the condition. I think Hugh Dancy's portrayl of Aspergers is accurate, and his character is an accurate reflection of the condition; however, the STORY of the film itself is a fable. Life is never this kind, and those with developmental disabilities are seldom as blessed as Adam is in this film.

  • @bpatrice49 how true... wouldn't life be lovely for asperegrs people if life was like it portrade in the film.

  • @bpatrice49 OK, this is for all you guys who are complaining that this movie does not portray people with Asperger's correctly: ITS HOLLYWOOD! Since when has Hollywood BEEN realistic? It's not a documentary, so it's not meant to teach as much is it meant to entertain. Hell, it even says it's a "romantic comedy". It's just as probable as Love Actually. BTW, that was great movie! I'm a physicist, and I never complained about movies like Core, Armageddon, Star Trek or 2001.

  • @bpatrice49 You don't have the statistics about life achievements to claim probabilities about an overgeneralized category of developmental disabilities.

He has very little coping strategies, he has no family or partner, but does have friends through work. He has a job in his interest, which is great. I do not agree with you holding this life up as the best that we (your overgeneralized category of people with developmental disabilities) can hope for.

There is more to life than just this.

  • @GeneticistAtheist Adam's life is not the 'best' that could possibly be hoped for. However having worked in a school for the autistic, and having seen my parents do the same for many years I can say that I believe Adam's life is certainly a good one. Could people on the spectrum have what he does or even better? Of course. However for most sufferers of autism or aspergers there is no beautiful/endearing partner, great job, good looks and great career prospects. Most NTs don't have that anyway.

  • @bpatrice49 You don't have statistics on how "blessed" we are either.

The point I take away from this film, is that people on the Autism spectrum can be successful in relationships and in their career, despite their difficulties. I will not let you take this away from those of us on the spectrum.

You diminish us in our own eyes when you focus on our difficulties. Life is never this kind...seldom as blessed. Bah.

  • @bpatrice49 The person I know who has AS is far better off than Adam is. He has a career, makes tons of money, is a home owner, and is a devastatingly handsome man who just happens to talk about Star Wars every moment of everyday. There is a big difference between high functioning AS and Autism thats why its called the Autism Spectrum.

  • I love this film, and I cried almost all the way through just because of how beautiful his passion about the galexy was. I hated the ending in a way though :|

  • I finished watching ADAM a couple of minutes ago, and it's amazing(now one of my favorites). it's really compelling and has helped me understand a little more about people who have Asperger's Syndrome. we shld all learn to accept each other for who we are and share the love. great movie:D

  • Which are the soundtracks of this movie?

  • I have it too, and you can get pills for it. I'd love to know what it feels like to be normal, I'm sort of proud to be differant though. I think if you have it, you should learn how to control it :L

  • i think beth looks a little bit like a german actress, Kaja Schmidt-Tychsen. look at her:

    kick-schauspieler.de/typo3temp/pics/cd53f97e39.jpg

    kick-schauspieler.de/typo3temp/pics/d086e80ac3.jpg

    don't you think so?

  • I, have Asperger's Syndrome and I am also in a very successful relationship. I am 16 years old. I have been with my girlfriend for a year and a half and yes, I know some people may say it's stupid to be in love at that age but what my girlfriend and myself share is, different, it's beautiful. When I first met her, I struggled, with so much, I did. We've both noticed over the time how I have changed and grown, developed from her help.

Baby, I just want to say that you help me everyday.

    I love you

  • @saruuuhvineh What you just said, reminds me of myself and my ex-girlfriend. I just hope it works out better for yourself than it did for us (her lesbian housemate also fancied her). Good luck.

  • @saruuuhvineh THATS SO CUTE!

  • @saruuuhvineh good for you =)

  • @saruuuhvineh

hope you remain happy . i have been married to my husband who has asbergers for 10 years. lvoe him to bits

  • @maltacat1 its pity love, not real love. Jk :) hehe.

  • @saruuuhvineh Do you take special ed, and talk like a faggot?

  • @saruuuhvineh LOL THIS GUY IS AN ASSPIE LOL

  • @saruuuhvineh

    yeah right

  • @saruuuhvineh boring...........

  • @saruuuhvineh :] that is really great on your realationship. Im very happy for you. I have someone in my class who also had Asperger's and I didn't really know why he acted the way he does toward me... but do you think that it is me doing something wrong? I would ask you because maybe you could give me some advice? Id really like to understand.

  • It is unusual watching this film because most people with AS will act their way through life. But in order to make the film the character Adam does not act because it would be too difficult to put the traits across properly.

  • @RobDeManc Exactly; exactly! As we grow, we learn to act normal. It's all a conscious effort, and quite a consuming one. That's why AS is more detectable in children. They haven't been hurt enough to mask their way of being. So it's both endearing and unbelievable for this movie's character to stay aligned with his true self, being that he's too old for that. It's impossible for an aspie to survive without living a lie. Oh, look...I've typed on too long.

  • @RobDeManc for some I guess so because there can be some who just don't understand!

  • can anyone please explain to me wats the difference between this nd autism? or are they the same thing? i'm sorry but i dont really no much bot these conditions!

  • @dabhnait Google.

  • @dabhnait Autism and AS are linked because of the difficulties in social interaction. It is thought that AS is similar to high functioning autism and the only difference is that in children with AS there is no delayed speech, the child begins to talk when other children do.

  • @dabhnait its a type of autism

  • My girlfriend has slight Aspergers. Been with her for over 2 and a half years and I still love her to death.

  • Is this movie saying that people with autism can fall in love?

  • what when did this come out

  • from the first moment of this trailer I really wanted to watch the movie! :))

  • This is offensive and another attempt by Hollywood to be insulting to things they don't understand. AND THEY FUCKING DON'T!

  • my ex boyfriend had AS. I got so frustrated because I felt he never could understand my feelings, he always told me I acted "weird" and I had to explain things verbally all the time. Things got so tiresome sometimes, it's hard when you need a hug and always have to ask for it. He left me now, but I really loved him so much. I always cry with this movie, Adam reminds me of him

  • i love this movie, the sweetest movie i have ever seen. i cried like a billion times. i totally recommend it! <3 <3 <3

  • just watched it: it was SO good, sentimental.......but somehow not mushy?

  • Oh, if only things happened like this in real life. :( Girls, take it from me. Aspergers is not fun, it's not "special", it's just stupid. I've already accepted that no girl will ever like me so there's no point in trying. Girls nowadays go for "bad boys" (even though they INSIST otherwise which is NOT true) and having Aspergers is the farthest thing from a "bad boy". And I know I'm going to get a bunch of comments going "Oh, just be yourself blah blah blah." Save your breath, it doesn't work.

  • @ryanmshepard92 get a girlfriend with Aspergers :)

  • @ryanmshepard92 if your not going to listen to anyone else, please listen to me. I, too, have Aspergers Syndrome. and often i find it hard to be with girls too. but recently i met someone who was more special than anyone ive ever met. simply because she accepted me for who i am. you cant give up too easily, or else it will be too late. just say to yourself "if they dont like you for who you are, then they dont deserve it anyway." the girl im with once dated a "bad boy" and she says she regretsit
