I don't think artists Lil' Jon killed it... and I'm not going to say it's dead because there are great artists still out there. But what is tainting the genre is taking songs like Lil' Jon which are meant to be merely club/party records and elevating them to the point that upcoming hip hop listeners believe that that's what hip hop is.

Now as for artists like 50 cent they are responsible for some problems because they aren't making club records but just awful rap that also gets seen as hip hop.
