@hatsXIV14 I'm not kidding, it would be way cooler if the protoss player could weigh between brute macro production or specialised warp-ins. It doesn't need to be a buff or a nerf, just a balanced option.

@BaileysBeads It takes 5 seconds to warp in a unit + 30 second cooldown. With a normal warpgate it takes 38 seconds if it's a sentry and 42 if it's anything else. Also, you can warp in units wherever you have a pylon. I think the warpgate in is A LOT better than the gateway.

@iHeardULikeNOODLES Yes! It IS a lot better than the gateway! There's no reason not to turn them all into warpgates! It makes them a no-brainer which is a stupid game design. I wish that Way gates had faster build times (after the research) so they become macro-choices.

@daiIygrace Hard to say, AOE I and II are absolutely great games, love to play them still. SC2 is more "modern" and has a better AI. Depends if you like a fictional or a realistic game.

If it were me, I'd have moved the barracks' ahead to wall off my gate after their scout left, put some vehicle factories up next to the reactor, build another reactor on the spare VF, and start massing Hellions.

By this time, I'd send my marines up to clear any scouting probes so they can't see what's coming, and harass their base for a moment until I have enough Hellions to attack with.

If you want something like that u can always add a trigger on the map editor for, p.e. the magma level (on lava maps) to rise and engolf all of your units... Of course that would make Terran even more op, due to their ability to lift buildings and "recicle" bunkers...

This kind of stuff happened to me all the time when I first picked up SC2 back in November 2010. It's really just a matter of practice and getting used to the micromanagement that the game requires to gain an advantage. Before I went onto battle net, I read some forums and practiced strategies whilst playing the AI on the hardest difficulty. That alone was enough to boost my performance.
