haha if you're scared of heights don't look down, also thats about one of the best shots of a takeoff showing the right wing side of a Singapore airlines Jumbo Jet that I've seen.
take-offs and landings are FUN!! When I fly back to Honolulu from Manila, I always book Continental (connect in Guam) and take the 'island hopper' flight from Guam to Honolulu (same price as CO2, but stops in 3 Micronesian Islands, Kwajelein Atol and Majuro) simply to experience SIX take-offs and landings as opposed to non-stop MNL-HNL (BOOOOORRRRING).
yea they do. well, considering how long the wings are, the metal probably has to bend a little. Its really fun seeing it though. B747-400 has a really pretty wing view in my opinion
Definitely a regional jet , looks like Embraer make, model E-135 or -145, thereabouts. (Shape just isn't right for a Canadair ...) Not sure on the carrier - perhaps Edelweiss?
and what about the " please we are about to take off could you please turn off every electronic devices, mp3 digital camera mobile phone..etc..." u know i think they ask these kind of things for a reason...
Jackson, as a former f/a from TWA, I flew for 30 years and it never bothered me! I love the sound of take off! It's just getting out of the jump seat 15 min. later after take off to prepare our bev service and meal back in those days! LOL!!!!
Definitely P&W engines. Btw, PW engines have a low and ghostly sound. GE has a high pitch whining sound, RR has a loud grinding sound, if wanted to expertly indentify engines.
Well I've been flying since I was less than one year old, averaging one return flight every 1 and a half years. Most times I fly for over 20 hours with a 3 hour break at an airport in between and I love every minute of it.
Singapore Airlines excels in what it does. Its standards remain one of the highest and most exacting in the industry and it is emulated, feared and despised probably in equal measure by its many competitors. Coming up trumps has become something of a habit for the airline, and little wonder. I can imagine that for many traveling executives where flying is more work hazard than genuine pleasure, booking a Singapore Airlines flight means at very least - knowing what to expect.

Turbulence isnt the answer. Think of it like a seesaw. On the sides you move up and down. But if you in the middle you barely move a lot. So in a plane the best place to sit if you get sick easily is the very middle. In between the wings and in the middle row.
It's not a boat. You're going to get the same turbulence guys whether you sit on the wings or at the aft end of the fuselage. If you hit turbulence, oh well. The aircraft isn't going to drop out of the sky. leboe you have nothing to worry about. Theres several aircraft in service today with airframes that have been in service for 30 years or more.
SINGAPORE AIRLINES WINS ONCE AGAIN AS "THE AIRLINE OF THE YEAR FOR 2008". "For the 3rd time in 10 years, Singapore Airlines has been named World's Best Airline, winning the 2008 Airline of the Year title in the latest World Airline Awards" said Edward Plaisted (CEO of Skytrax). "We extend our congratulations to them for this notable achievement, coinciding with the time that Singapore Airlines was the world's first airline to fly the Airbus A380."
ANYONE FEELS THE SAME AS ME? During takeoff, my fists are clenched because the sound and power of the engines drives me wild. I purposely buy connecting flight tickets instead of nonstop flights. I like looking at the wing control surfaces (flaps etc..). Pointing out land marks and areas from above. Love the roar of thrust reverse. Sad when I reach my destination because that's the end of the plane ride. WHO IS WITH ME??? LOL
