I can tell you, I spent years reading tabs & my playing never improved until I stopped trying out tabs & started playing by ear.

This song is pretty easy.

Simple minor pentatonic scale.

Just improvise...

What makes it sound so "difficult" is Beck's use of effects, and how he just hammers away at the guitar...but in actuality, he's just playing a minor pentatonic scale in both octaves of G.

It's hard to understand maybe, but once you get it, you can play ANYTHING.

if it's so easy, then why aren't you on that stage ....? i know how to play songs, i know a lot, trust me. i just want to play this ok? don't think you're superior to everyone just because you've mastered a scale....we all know scales, improvising, and playing by ear, i just didn't want to go trough the trouble of finding out every friggin note myself ok? i'm not stupid, just lazy, if that's ok with you of course, grand master of guitarscales.......
