My 84 Hilux is a full circle bell housing and has a plate between the engine and transmission

The only way water can get in it is through the clutch fork on the side of the tranny And that's even got a dust boot. And IF it does get wet, there is a drain plug... But in order for water to even get into it, it would have to sit in the mud or water longer than most holes are??? Water doesn't just "pour in"

Maybe you guys should come out from under your Land Rovers or Chebby's once and a while?
