vegas 7 is fairly cheap now since 9s out but its from 200-600$ .. .good thing for torrents though but be careful and make sure you have an antivirus.

Yes you can. If you can think of any type of video editing, you can probably do it in Vegas.

MAN! great pictures! im trying to learn how to use transitions on my vegas. when i put them in its like really fast and i cant even tell theres a transition there.

The trick is to increase the overlap of the clips/pictures you are transition between. If you only have a .5 second overlap you'll only get that much time to show the transition effect. Some of the stock transitions take few seconds to show their full animation, so be sure to account for that.

This is an amazing editing program for the price. I didn't like it at first but after you gwet used to all the tools and effects it's great. I like it better than Final cut right now.

I've also downlaoded PowerDirector v6 (Took me 1 hour to understand everything)

The only thing I miss by that which I could do in sony vegas is proper color correcting and masking -_-

Never heard of Power director but, yeah Vegas has a lot of nice little touches. Final cut's more technical though, that's why it's industry standard. I just don't understand it. But if you wanna see the power of vegas check out my vids. All done in Vegas

Yeah, I could have, but the point of the video was to display the stock transitions, not the video effects possible in Vegas. This quickly made video does what it set out to do.

As far as effects go, do you have some experience with Sony Vegas that you'd like to display. I'd be interested in seeing it!

Fraps is just a program for taking shots and recording video from screen:p. There are only a few tutorials for Vegas on YouTube - I'd like to do one but my voice sucks:/

The pictures are all from interfacelift but I never tried to pass them off as my own. Its because of this that I didn't see a need to label them as such in the video. This was created with the sole purpose of displaying Vegas' transition capabilities.

Sony Vegas can be difficult. I recommend playing with the program using something simple, like jpegs for example! There is a lot of depth but it can be as simple as overlapping one jpeg onto another and selecting the desired transitions. Also there are some great tutorials on youtube! Good luck and don't give up!
