if your music is good enough and you utilize free tools on the internet to promote yourself you dont need a label. bands make money off of touring, who the fuck wants their cd in stores? how does that make sense? who buys cds? and if you were to actually sell cds the band is probably only making 12% on the sales to split among 4-5 people = pennies. the music industry is broken, labels on all levels are garbage
