  • This is my favourite ABBA song. Awesome bass playing and the only ABBA song (as far as i'm aware) that has a guitar solo.

  • This is some totally insane bass playing...

  • When i used to be a kid, how i liked that song and my older brother used to buy every record of ABBA at that time! it 's bringing me so many good childhood memories, thanks for sharin'!

  • Kõige viletsam ABBA laul üldse!

  • Still by far the best video for this song. Thanks Jim!

  • Great bass line!

  • @MultiProfessorn That was either Rutger Gunnarsson or Per Sahlberg - I agree!

  • I was only 13, but remember iit tll to presennt day... Beautiful song. Greeting from former Czehoslovakia

  • @61baobab Why do you write Czechoslovakia when you´re from the Czech republic?

  • I was 9 yrs old and couldn't speak any English..i still learned the lyrics to this song and used to sing it over and over and over..until -MY MAMA -said , that's enough for today now, turn it off! And i cried. I even used to dream to this song when i was a kid.

  • A really strong and magic tune by ABBA here!

For some reason it reminds me of a song called

"Viva La Felicita" from the cartoon "Signor Rossi"

  • 17 dislikes?/// are thay crazy or what???????

  • AQUA My Mamma said *-*

  • @ObitoODM ABBA is so much better. I hate that one..

  • The first cassette I got was an ABBA compilation, and this song was on.

  • This is the first time I've ever heard this song! Just awesome!!

  • one of my faves from the waterloo album! Great sound quality on this vid, well done x

  • Wow it's in stereo!

  • thumbs up if this was a related video from the Aqua song, and you wanted to see if it was a remake!

  • Never really listened to abba, at least apart from their hits. Landed here by accident looking for another song, and wow this is an amazing song - really funky with amazing vocals..gonna post it on my facebook and probably come in for some flak hahahaha...thx for posting would never have heard it otherwise

  • Agnetha, lovely as she will always be.

ABBA come back, I miss you :(

  • @chcjcc They were offered a billion $ for one concert. They said NO. Like HRH Reus has time

  • ABBA, WOW, WHAT CAN'T YOU SAY ABOUT THEM, THEY RULED THE 70s AND WERE ONE OF THE BEST INTERNATIONAL GROUPS OF ALL TIME. IT WOULD BE GREAT IF THEY REUNITED FOR A WORLD TOUR, THEY WOULD SELL OUT . THEY WERE JUST AS POPULAR AS ELVIS AND THE BEATLES .

thanks for posting this song and thank you beautyspa, my good friend, for sharing it with me, !!!!!

  • ABBA going funky....LOVE IT

  • I love it!!!

  • This song has a dreamy hypnotic effect. I listened to it once, I HAD to hear it again. ABBA , all of them are musical masters.

  • @Lockemeister I agree.

  • Neat song. Benny was a beefy baby!

  • aqua coverd this song!

  • i never heard this before , thanks for posting it , huh and i thought i knew the 70s :)

  • sounds like "My Marmoset" hehehe... abba are ace :)

  • @scoop909 My Marmoset, took a pee on Johnny Carson's head

My, Marmoset, relieved himself and then he went to bed.

La la la, la la la, La

La la la, la la la, La

  • @scoop909 That would be weaseling out ...

  • Your an idiot James. This is great music

  • acuma toti se cred vedete! de la 7 ani au impresii de mari staruri! uite adevaratele valori! voi nu veti muri niciodata..

  • A less commonly known song by Abba but one of my favourites.

  • I was born in 1992. And I don't care if ABBA is 70s and 80s. For me ABBA will NEVER be old music, never die. Good music never die , they reborn on our mind and hearts.

    (sorry for my bad english)

    Greetings from Brasil

    LLAP

  • Some people may make fun of ABBA for their costumes or their sometimes naive English lyrics, but no one can put a candle to the group's amazing ability to write songs that had such wonderful, unique and strong melodies. As I have always said, ABBA were "Masters of Melody".

  • Con esta canción se anticiparon a pet shop boys.¿Os habéis fijado en la melodía final?Pet shop boys podrían versionarla.

  • ABBA was decades ahead of everyone

  • incredible sound and groove!

  • in the 1970s there was classic songs like this :) in the 2000's there was rubbish like dizzee rascal and 50 cent! how times have changed for the worst :(

  • Great video. The black and white pictures go great with this song. Just added it to my Favorites.

  • REALLY BEAUTYFUL !

GOOD INTERPRETATION OF THE ABBA MEMBERS !

    X Riëtte (NL)

  • I totally agree with all of you kind and generous people. This song could be a chart topping single thus bringing Waterloo up to about 8 gadzillion dollars in sales.

And each of their songs are just so pure!

It's just so amazing that during their era only Agnetha could read and write music.

B&B must have eidetic musical memories.

The long version of "On and On and On", with that elusive 3rd verse is still my favorite. Thanks for this rare, posting, Jim.

  • go frida shes sooooo cutteee shes the best my favourite shes the babe ily xxx great song i luv it

  • This could be released NOW and be a huge hit. Abba never cease to amaze me - so many songs, so many different styles, and nearly all worthy of being singles.

  • Loved this then.If we only had those computers then....Ooh well then nothing would have happened.Where from they have stolen all the ideas and sounds? Made them themself? I hardly think so.

  • @seaclouds aqua- my mamma said. :P search it

  • Jes.You can do whatever with this.Have done things with this.As a small boy tried.HA HA .

  • I'm stunned, i was only when ABBA were out and everytime I hear a new song it just gets better...Sugarcube you're so right, why wasn't it released ? Why cant they release it now

  • it was released but in an album not as a single.

  • WOW! I can't believe this wasn't released as a single...6 stars out of 5...

  • The cute jazz interlude at 2.00 is quite typical of the time (1974?), although not exactly of abba ;)

  • the rythmguitar is cool

  • Father's day is comming Ive left hints for my kids to get me an album of abba They are soo good

  • Aha thats exactly what my dad did, he was thrilled when i got him an Abba album

  • Thanks Jim for posting this gem of a pop song... guess I didn't hear it for 35 years... but it still sounds every bit as great as it did back then. I still marvel at how many different moods and sound colours those Abba guys were able to create. And yes, a woman can't be much more beautiful than Agnetha.

  • This bass player on this is fucking wicked.

  • I heart that song! <3

    ^____________^

  • Well looking at your channel, there's not much that you have to offer as far as any taste in music, so if you don't like it don't watch it....pretty simple huh!

  • @jamesroo1 who did this originally? abba werent in the habit of covering other peoples music. i believe this is there composition.

  • @rosycross It's theirs, RC. It's a testament to ABBA and their session musicians that they busted their butts and were willing to try anything, all just so people would enjoy their music. There'll never be anyone like them again. But, since they'll probably sell 1+ million records a year in perpetuity, there's no need for another ABBA!

  • @jamesroo1

Rendetions are good. They're compliments to the original song.

  • @Martialsmash My thoughts exactly.

  • @jamesroo1

woow u noe wat it says about ur comment sorry theres too many negative votes

  • @jamesroo1 This song was written and composed Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus. It isn't a cover. If I am wrong, who did the original?

  • @jamesroo1

    Imbécile

  • I agree, it's strange why this brilliant song was so underestimated. Anyway great video, thanks for your job

  • What a great song!!Love it!Thanks for posting!!

  • I love this song...

  • I am glad so many has discovered this unrated ABBA song.

  • The bass is cool through the whole song! This song is just great!

  • Listen to the bass at the end of this song. And the guitar by Janne Schaffer. This is the most underrated ABBA track ever.

  • My favorite song of "Waterloo" album.

  • ;) mine too ;)

  • I don't know how you get the sound so clear. The girls sound like angels. Thank you Jim!!

  • Abba never seems to amaze me! I have never heard this song before and have by now listend to it the whole day. That's the ABBA effect.....

  • They could do it all. Any genre of music was well within their range.

    Peace....Jim~

  • @ji61m

Yes, is there any more versatile band ever..dont think so....pure music genious...Timeless,pricessless

  • @nanarjain74 Yes, their talent is almost unbelievable. Everything they touched turned to gold.

  • @nanarjain74 I'm sure you mean "never fails to amaze me"

  • I can't belive this is an ABBA song! If I didn't know it was them I'd say The Mamas and the Papas or something like that.

  • I've always loved this song..the vocals and musical arrangement are incredible!! Along with that late night funky jazz hook the vocals give it a poignancy that make you realise the four members of Abba were meant for greatness!!!

  • Thanks RG. The opening chords grabs me and holds me here to enjoy one fine song. You're correct about meant for greatness, now we just have to get the RRHOF's attention! Thanks for lookinhg in.

    Peace from Iowa....Jim~

  • I know that Abba wrote their songs a lot time ago, but thissong seems it was written a few days ago!! Abba music is Timeless!!!

  • Their music stands the test of time my friend.

People always say the same thing, that the music still plays well even today! Thanks for looking in.

    Peace, Jim~

  • Thank you. It seems that they could adapt to any style of music with relative ease!

    Thanks for looking in.

  • Probaly the COOLEST ABBA song. It's a shame that it was not a hit. I can never get enough of this one.

  • thank you thank you for the music!

  • Thank you for watching. Without everyone watching my videos, I'd be nothing.

    Peace, Jim~

  • A very 70's style funky cut from the swedish foursome!

Right now, I'm trying to practice some bebop-ish-cum-blues guitar soloing by playing along to it with my Strat and guess what...it works beautifully as a playalong track for that! That speaks volumes about the quality of Abba's music.

Also check out the bassline, I haven't transcribed it yet but I can hear there are some tricky breaks and octave leaps indeed!!!

  • Abba is British radio list among the first. And Abba's songs record yet after 26 years.

I heared Waterloo long time ago and love it.

Thanks all that are posted Abba's songs to youtube. Sorry my English

  • Me to :)

  • Now, since Abba hits became famous to gay and travesty people, I´m happy to hear this little great one. That great Fender Rhodes piano together with this funky, twangy guitar.Have you ever heard a jazzy guitar solo in a pop song ? My favorite Abba stuff. Thanks for posting !!

  • Funky!like it!Another well diserved 5 star by this pop supergroup!!

  • These were two fantastic women who were apparently put on this Earth to make the sweetest music known to man! Their voices were meant to be heard together! Thank you Rain.

  • I'm missing the stereo Jim! Its 5.30am here, but I guess I can just make brief comments and then it not too long. I think I'll do that from now on, cheers Jim. Where's the stairs? I didn't get online till late today.

  • Hey John, don't trip on the way up those stairs, we don't want to read about you in the papers! You need your rest buddy, dream nice Aggy dreams!

  • I'll keep going Jim, just have to keep it short. I'm only up till that time after a late start and doing a vid. Usually knock-off around 1am. Yes some nice dreams of Aggy certainly helps restore spirits!

  • Groovy song Jim and great pix. My kids love this song:)

  • Thanks Kat. It's a song that's not to over the top, but just right melody wise. It's good to hear I'm reaching the younger generation!

  • Great ending Jim and I loved that look at 2:28 don't you wish you could have heard what made that reaction?

    Jim

  • It's one of those "penny for your thoughts" moments! Wouldn't you like to know what was going on inside that beautiful mind?

    Thanks Jim.

  • Very very good Jim!!!!! Great picture selection...and a song I always play on my ipod:):):)

  • Thank you Aggy. It was a tough choice between this or one of her earlier songs. I just don't have the time to do translations right now.

  • Love the baby pics turning into adults at the end Jim

This could have been a single, its that good

  • I just like the music of this song so much, maybe that's why I chose to do it! Thank you Shay. Oh, I just thought I would throw those baby to adult pics in at the last moment, I think it works!
