@roxy1porche2bandit3 ... I can NOT imagine who would play Mrs. White. Is there anyone current that compares to Madeline Kahn??? If so, I can't wait to see her!!!
Pay attentionat the part of the movie when the guests are arguing about how they should handle the motorist. As Prof. Plum and Miss Scarlet are arguing, watch Miss White behind Prof. Plums back. It looks like she's imagining killing him or something. When you see it, you'll know what I mean.
My sister went on imdb and told me this was adlibbed. So I went back to the TV, rewound the video, and watched it again.Oh.My.Gosh.The film was ten times funnier, only Madeline Kahn could make me laugh like that. This is the BEST FILM ever. This movie has a great cast, aspecially Madeline, Tim Curry , and .....Who play's Mrs. Peacock? That lady,DANG,WHAT'S HER NAME?Anyway,THAT lady.If you havn't yet experienced the laughter and awsomeness of this film, you're crazy.SEE IT
the best thing about this scene is that it was adlibbed, she just made that up on the spot that's why Tim Curry was trying not to laugh and Martin Mull looked so confused lol She's such an amazing actress
@badlydrawnboy actually, this film was most likely shot with only one camera, meaning the close ups of Curry and Mull were done during different takes than the take of Kahn ad-libbing the line.
That's the most funny scene from all Clue movie!!! I've seen it hundreds times and always crying from laugh!!! ;-) I will give her Oscar for this one scene!
My English class watched this for our mystery unit, and I thought this part was hilarious. I think I was the only one who understood her humor, since I was the only one laughing, along with the teacher...
It- it- the fe- it flame, flames, FLAMES, on the side of my face...
i WISH O I WISH i had been on the movie set for the original scripted and then Madeline's request to reshoot with her improving... a chunk of comedy HISTORY
is that what happened? where did you hear that from? do you know more off camera nuggets like that? do you know what was scripted? I can't imagine any confession to Yvette's murder being funnier than that!
There is no existing footage to my knowledge, however I found the information online from a source close to Kahn. LONG ago. I am sure a little detective work will benefit the interest!
It's mostly funny because of what happens a few seconds after this clip ends, when she keeps going on and on about the heaving breaths, and finally Tim Curry just cuts her off in mid-sentence and continues with his exposition. :)
Mrs. White is just so weird...this is the ending of the movie where they find out that everyone was a murderer except for Mr. Greene; Mrs. White (who seemed so innocent and bizarre) is guilty of killing the maid. It's so funny because she hated Yvette so much that words couldn't do it justice. LOL this scene is the best.
innocent?? sure at dinner but by right after they all admitted what they were being blackmailed for and hers was the worst - murdering two of her husbands!!
Madeline Kahn was such a genius at comedy. This line has stuck with me since I was 8 when the film came out originally. It just captures the film perfectly - a silly, funny and genius portrayal of a classic board game. No one could do this today.
amazing film. they had better not remake it. you're not going to, in a million years, find a cast that could make a board game into a classic film ever again. it's just NOT possible. everybody was amazing. especially Ms. Kahn. the delivery of that line was terrific. and Martin Mull's face: 'What the fuck?'
(Is scared) Somehow, I got put into the role of Mrs. White for my school play (since our school's so small)... I've never actually acted before... I think I'll really screw up, seeing this again. O.O
