  • how do u mute your computer mic so u can use your usb mic because when i record both mic record?

  • Uh, yeah, I have a Mac mini, so I don't have a built in microphone. So how do I record sound? i don't have any adapters to make it work on the mac, but i do have a RockBand microhpne, which I heard work pretty well, I just do'nt know what input source it is, or how to get it to work.

  • doesn't work. I hit record and it did NOT record JACK SH

  • I WOUNDER WHY YOU CAN ONLY GO ON IT WITH A MAC

  • you cannot by garageband, garageband is on every Mac, what is needed is the software of particular instruments you want to use... such as Symphony Orchestra

  • @lalobarrera99 you're an idiot you can buy garage band simply for the upgrades you tard.. plus it wasn't being installed on every mac until early 2009 before then you had to pay extra for it to come preinstalled with your computer.

  • @canthony1019 So, people can buy garageband even if they do not own a Mac? thanks for explaining, but you are very offensive, whats the problem...

  • @lalobarrera99 uh yeah,, there are people who run copies of os x on non apple computers and would like to use garage band as well.. and yeah my bad but maybe you should get to know your stuff before you post something stupid.

  • thank u very much! Cant wait to sing on this!

  • Can you import a song then isolate the instruments in that song? Like take out the guitar or whatever?

  • you can do that, but you'll need a proffessional program, search for a 'seaparatpr' on google... and ull find what your looking for, and the song should be really high quality for you to do that with a free program

  • You can't do it with garage band?

  • @JesusWeptt Yes

  • dose anyone know how to get an external micraphone to work i know it will work with a mac but i cant get mine to work

  • Mac -> system preferences -> Sound -> Input

Then select your line-in and input volume level.

  • thanks !! can you teach how to use jingles in podcast?

  • Thanks...indeed you have the best tutorials.

I am still getting around my Imac and I never tried garage band.

  • does the computer come with garage band?? or do you have to download it??

  • no it comes with it..

    its a great laptop btw

  • @Han272 could you add it to a youtoube video?

  • you need ram

  • Thank you.

  • Do you have to use a microphone, all other videos say that. Please tell me!

  • I have an iMac so its a little bit of a newer computer but I don't have a mic and I can record my voice just like in this video so I guess my computer has a built in mic, which leads me to believe macbooks or other relatively new mac computers do as well. therefore no you don't need a mic to record your own voice in garageband

  • thanks!

    are you arab?

    you sound like it!

you got two new fans here from south west wyomin'. you have no idea how invaluable this video was to us. we really needed to know how to record a voice in garage band (!) and you told us EXACTLYHOW TO DO IT. god love the internet. god bless. you, AND, the U.S.A.

    kiss. --yer two new fans

  • wow... thank u =D

  • i need help! iv done my a2 music tech coursework on garage band and i need to print off a score of it! how do i go about it. its all midi by the way. does anybody now?

  • hi, please answer me, do you know if i can record with a line in.. does the macbook have a line in to record any audio?, i have macbook black 2.0 intel core 2 duo

  • hey, im not rly sure about that.. if u mean a normal mic that u connect, then i think yes you can.

You have to choose which mic you wanna use, go to garage band and choose settings and you'll find your way there (keep on looking and youre gonna find a place where it asks you which mic uu wanna use, then choose the mic you connected :) )

  • yeah you can record in line in. You click on the garageband thing at the the top right and there will be preferences. Click preferences and then click on Audio/MIDI. On the audio input column you click built-in Input. It will take a second to change the settings. Then connect your line-in cable to the line in jack. If your headphone jack is on the left then put your line in cable in the place in between the usb input and the headphone input goes. hope that helps you.

  • Thank you
