The only question I have is,WTF are window nerds doing on a Steve Jobs video ? Do they think they are clever or what ?Just because you don't prefer or can't afford an apple product doesn't mean it's junk.writing aggressive comments towards steve or apple is degrading towards the human rac.Get a life nerds ohh and atomicshit.....I mean autopsy if you die nobody will miss cause by the looks of the comments you don't know how to communicate with people.NOOB
It would've been a lot funnier if, right after "PowerPC screams and toasts Pentium," this showed the announcement that Apple had switched to Intel. It would've at least been icing on the cake. I still raged, however.
@DeedMDavid The "core" series of CPU's were a HUGE improvement over the Pentium line because they moved to a radically changed architecture. The Nehalem stuff we have now is the kind of performance boost seen going from Pentium to Core, from Core to Nehalem. Intel only really "beat" PPC because IBM focused their development on the server/supercomputer market. The G5 was never really made to be a consumer chip, it needed way more cooling/power than it could get in anything but a PowerMac/XServe.
This guy has no idea what the fuck he's talking about rofl.
Macs are JUST NOW getting quadcore processors, and even those still suck pretty hard. The rest of what I'd like to say is kinda already posted by @MoonKittinJD.
I wonder what this guy has to say about my Terabyte HDD, 6 Gigs of RAM, Sapphire Radeon 5850, and quadcore processor running at 3 Ghzs each.
And i cant help but wonder if towards the end, it was comparing its processors to the low end ones ie. Much like comparing a 17in macbook processor with an intel atom.
@MoonKittenJD The AOL thing was a build up to "this is iTunes, it's better, go use it". That was pretty much the best way to get music online back then (legally) then iTunes came along with it's music store and changed things for he better.
lol "...and the competitors haven't even caught up to our first generation."
It's a shame that they can't say that now, considering how the iMac is just RECENTLY got an i7 while I've been using my 920 (sometimes overclocked) for about a year now.

@Bellerophon2200 It took longer for Apples consumer computers to get i7's and the like because of the crap between Intel not allowing NVIDIA to make chipsets for them, so Apple had to wait for better solutions than Intel were offering. Plus Apple have very strict power consumption standards. Also remember iMacs use mostly laptop parts due to it's form factor.
@TalesOfWar Exactly. Apple can't adapt and be flexible. When the next generation of processors comes out, Apple will still lag behind because it can't adapt.
@Bellerophon2200 Apple is in a unique position in the computer industry. They can dictate the hardware requirements for their systems needs because they make the OS and the machines themselves, so they won't be putting out stuff that needs more power than they can deliver with their machines, and most developers of the Mac platform also work this way. Lots of Windows devs have the assumption "people will just upgrade, who cares about optimised code", because in that world it's sad but true.
@TalesOfWar That is true and I understand that they want to make a high quality machine by matching the hardware and the software well. I just think that his argument is invalid, because Apple is obviously not on the cutting edge in terms of its PCs. I personally have a 3rd Gen 32 GB iPod touch and I love it, but when it comes to PCs, Apple is most certainly not on the cutting edge.
@MoonKittenJD He was mocking the design, which I'm sure you'll agree is rather bad. Most Windows laptops are ugly poorly made, poorly designed boxes with loads of panels and venting all over the place because the internal cooling isn't designed very well. The Apple remote does everything you need a remote to do, you don't need a crap load of buttons. The pinnacle of design is not when you can't think of what to add, but when there's nothing more to take away.
If I had a chance to rip of Jobs' head and throw in a blender in front of thousands of Apple fanboys, I would in a heartbeat. You couldn't force me at gunpoint to buy an Apple product.

> implying smaller laptop = better
>nice fans on the back - laughtrack
oh its bad to cool the processor, thats why the new macbooks with i7s overheat =), cuz thats just better
>6 buttons
>implying less options and customizability = better.
new gaming controllers have more buttons than old, i guess that means old games are better.
>way ahead of other competitors > no quadcore configs on macbook.
