I work in a deli and even though I have never seen heard of or experienced anything worse than nicking my finger on the slicer have constantly have visions of horrible things pop through my head when doing things. i.e. something like slipfalling into the fryer, or the slicer blade coming undone and flinging like a Frisbee into someone. I know they never happen but I'm always just a touch creeped out about the "possibility" of them happening.

i am a waitress and they tell us to try and get on everyone else's level but it depends on the situation. if its busy there is no way in hell anyone is going to do that.
I have that problem too if I am sitting close to the edge of the table where it involves lots of neck craning to look up at the person. Its usually OK if you are on the other end of the table and you can just glance slightly up to see them though. last time i ate out was at texas roudhouse. we sat in a booth that was elevated about a foot. then the waitress came and she was not tall. it was eye to eye.

Nah, it isn't just you. You said you're almost six feet tall... I'm five feet two and a half and I get a lot shorter when I sit (if you can imagine that). I hate going out to eat because I have to look up at everyone, not just the waiters. -_- When I worked at my sister's restaurant, I'd sit down with the people to take their orders (it was all chairs, no booths) and people seemed a lot more comfortable.

I have the same prob sometimes. I also hate it when I walk into a store (like in a mall, not Wal-Mart or a big store) and the employees are overly-nice and are like "How are ya today?!" I don't know why, but I never know what to say to them...and then when I don't say anything I feel like a dick.... Meh.

I get terrified of dogs (medium to big ones). Also, there's this huge shopping mall a few hours away from me (3 or 4 stories high i think) and when I look down from the top floor, I get so scared! lol

I REALLY hate it when you ask for your food in a to go box, and the waiter just tosses you a little box, and doesn't care to put the food in it for you. I always leave a bad tip when that happens.

The greatest thing to come from sxephils mouth was you..you are awesome. i don't like going to the bathroom with other people in there. They can't see me i'm in the stall, but what if they look under and they see my shoes and they'll know who I am! So I lift my feet up, but that doesn't work because then I'm looking like a psycho with my feet hovering off the ground, going to the bathroom oh and the cracks..why? is there a crack where people can see your potty face?

I work in a deli and even though I have never seen heard of or experienced anything worse than nicking my finger on the slicer have constantly have visions of horrible things pop through my head when doing things. i.e. something like slipfalling into the fryer, or the slicer blade coming undone and flinging like a Frisbee into someone. I know they never happen but I'm always just a touch creeped out about the "possibility" of them happening.

I have that problem too if I am sitting close to the edge of the table where it involves lots of neck craning to look up at the person. Its usually OK if you are on the other end of the table and you can just glance slightly up to see them though. But I totally got you on that. haha.But I also feel weird when they kneel down next to the table..at lest I think so.

lol Brent it's totally cool I get what you mean. I work at a restaurant and the waiters are actually supposed to lean down or knee down, or whatever so that they're on other peoples level or below their level so that the customers don't feel awkward and uneasy.

just look at your menu and point to it as the waiter looks over your shoulder.
thats what i do.
i kind of have the same problem as you.
but i can normally overcome myself if its a MUST to make eye contact with the waiter.

And that bothers me, because I have to walk through that floor, every day, so, it's annoying.
But what bothers me more, is when people aren't original, so you buy something, or you make something different, like create a site or something like that, or even if it's just something you're addicted to, and somebody else does just the same thing!

There is something that has been bothering me lately..
It's that I have a shopping center right in front of my school, so I'm almost always there.
And in one part of the shopping, there's this floor that isn't right!
Like, the colors aren't good, the symbols neither, and it is NOT proportional, and it has these really little black points in the ground, I don't know, my friends say I'm crazy, but I think it's really annoying.

last time i ate out was at texas roudhouse. we sat in a booth that was elevated about a foot. then the waitress came and she was not tall. it was eye to eye.

I don't like waiters. I feel like I can never trust them because I'm always getting the impression they're judging me. Call me crazy but having people I don't know judge me just for walking into their restaurant kind of creeps me out. It's even worse when you actually have your food and they so HAPPEN to come by while you have food in your mouth and they ask you, "How's the food?" What are you going to do? Talk with your mouth full and then have it go all over your plate? Ick...

since you are a bit on the taller side... you are used to having people be shorter than you
and having someone taller than you freaks you out...especially lots of people
i'm like 5'8''-5'9''...pretty tall for a chick

I have to look at the menu when I'm ordering, perhaps I have the same problem? What bugs the crap outta me is when they only give you about 38 seconds to look at the menu before asking to take your order, it puts too much pressure on me. And by the way, you're welcome to visit anytime! You would be completely cool to hang out with. We'll find a giant-free place to get a bite, too.

I was a server once, I haven't seen anyone not able to make eye contact with me, but then again, I am only 5'2", so someone like you wouldn't be that much shorter than me, so, I guess, consider the source, eh? My idiosyncrasy is that I don't like to eat out by myself. I'm not the only one, I hang out with people that have the same problem. blah!

Nah, it isn't just you. You said you're almost six feet tall... I'm five feet two and a half and I get a lot shorter when I sit (if you can imagine that). I hate going out to eat because I have to look up at everyone, not just the waiters. -_- When I worked at my sister's restaurant, I'd sit down with the people to take their orders (it was all chairs, no booths) and people seemed a lot more comfortable.
