    Glad I was there.

The Quaud was the best club in the country. Everyone knows that.

As I said." It was like a goal had just been scored". All night.

Best of all, it had an edge to it.

  • The club with the best atmosphere, not a surface left undanced on,beat the hac, shelleys or leeds although entropy in stoke was top cos that was home.anyone remember a freebie after the quad where a helicopter shone its light onto the rig in the middle of a park at the side of the mersey?had to wait for petrol for the generator!!great post mate.

  • Loved the QUAD,..14yrs old in the all nighters,..apart from when me mum dragged me out lol

  • Also went to the all-nighter after at the Quad. All the snooker tables sheeted over and stuff.

Sadly the place got full of lowlife scallies mugging kids in the toilets. Sad. Great venue though.. not a Liverpudlian me.. was it dockside Bootle? Banging!!

  • Great club.. am 40 years old too and was there. And at Leeds Kaos and Soaks. I DJ'ed at Shine at the Corn Exchange too with Judge Jules. Happy days. :)

  • the quad top respect bootle posse lol travelled from darlo every sat night was the place to be after ibeza two years runnin 1989-1990 ( darlington )quality people quailty tunes .

  • didnt open house nights regularly till start of 90, 1 or 2 student nights before then. The state crowd were looking for a home after twilight zone and le jardin.

  • hey there, whats your real name, this is stephen jones, just read your post...please let me know who you are..

great times for sure, no better place to be after ibiza 90.

    peace out....

  • fukin bangin lol, fuk the police n rock on lol first time i went some scousers ripped the emergency exit doors off in the car park so i had a free night pmsfl then went to toxteth for a party afterwards nearly run an police inspector over on the the road outside couldnt make shit like this up un fukin real , travelled there from darlington every sat night for a year , n the warehouse round the back was mint too lol

  • I was one of the kids you would se roaming round in there, we used to pay one of the bouncers a fiver to let us in through the doors by the al nighter, failing that wed rip the fire exit doors of into the car park, we even climbed in one night throught the glass roof upstairs. It must have looked insane. Remember the statue of liberty at the top of the stairs by the front entrance? when it was getin knocked down we got in an took it. It caried on partying in numerous living rooms

  • makes me want to cry i went to all of them. glad i did and was there. best or some of the best party days of me life

  • OMG lovi it....y did it have to end??????

  • quad was the scariest club i've ever been in.

  • Why The scariest club??

  • @tilliwigs why?

  • @tilliwigs Yeah...it was fucking scary and beautiful. I still masturbate to 808 state.

Best night of my fucking life though. I would gladly pay £15 to do it all again. I suspect you would to : (

  • Used to love this place. On one of my first trips to the Quad I bought what I thought was an Acid tab off a scally wag outside. Just as I was about to pop it I noticed it was a small piece of A4 paper with 'Z' written on it in biro!! However, I got off with a real hottie that night. Blonde hair, crop top, minnie skirt, boots and out of her head on fuck knows what. I'll never forget dancing with her to PKA's 'Let me hear you say yeah'. Never did ask her name but that typified the place.

  • No way this vid is amazing. I lived about 1 mile away and every sat night we would spend walking to the quad and dropping our tabs on the way. The club was immense like i have never witnessed before or seen since. Every sat night was like history in the making, So much fucking love in that building. Pure dancing that was all it was about. Walking home with people you had never met dancing all the way humming the quad tunes spaced out and dropping into some house party. Liverpool was banging.

  • Where was Quadrant Park? I heard it was Birkenhead

  • I was one of the scally kids who used to get in here every weekend, fuckin loved this place the atmosphere was like no other club ever. And I mean ever, anybody who went will back me up on it.

  • Lived in and loved the place for a few years . Still have my membership card which is number 0010 I think. was a fantastic place. Loved the staye but think i used to frequent the harrington till 1 AM then the pen and wig was from 1 till 2. Real underground days. But spent the happiest daus of my life in the quad :)

  • i remember buying a gram of wiz in the alnighter of some very shady guys and after having necked half my mouth started to burn like fuck i was sure i was sold some house hold chemical but no no no its the best wiz i ever did have in my life

  • I remember it well the State and the Underground, the Hard Dock, The Cokey, then later on the Quad and the 051. Even dare I say it Cream. The club was great but as someone said the all nighter was a bit shady. I remeber the lads would give a 50 quid "drink" to the bouncers so they could carry business out there.

  • ive got quad' classic mental cubes "q" on ebay for sale, find it by name.ta

  • i went with a load of folk from preston.we were usually on the top floor.the club was great.great people<great music<but the warehouse got very shady after a good start.glad i was there 2 experiance it all.

  • Remember the first time i went it just blew me away, great tunes amazing atmosphere happy days!

  • classic days absolutely superb, was so sad to watch the demise of the club was still there when they were getting only 100 odd ppl coming up. watching the part with move your body raises the old hairs on my neck

  • Best days of my life, nowhere else came close.

  • filmbag no,s wat hes talkin about,,mid summer 89 andy carrol mike knowler,,thay were red river rockers punks playin da ballroom(state) smithsan other punk,,,,thay started playin talkin heads,,an acid man for 2 hours ov a sat nights,,it went from there ,,,,,,punks out liverpool underworld,,,S.R,A in .,.1990 blackburn live da dream,,an warehouse partyz.. by 91 da underground scene was becomeing 2 an end

  • sort your heads out this was the start of the dance scene... i agree the state was happening and booming but the quad set the scene, until they went and saw what was going on in the all nighter. Im not talking about the quad night club, im talking about the after hours club where it was packed with happy paople wanting to stay out all night and getting pissed on from the sweat off all dancers from the ceilings yet never batting an eye lid

  • Absolfuckinlutly Brilliant,Best Times Of My Life thanks for postin

  • 91 was a cooling off period as far as the original scene was concerned. The warehouse parties started feeling empty after the lomeshaye bust. Police were on top, but there's still some energy here. Not like the snotty Cream and beyond days.

  • what can i say if heaven is a place on earth it was quadrant park every saturday night respect to GOD of the quad mike knowler awesome dj

  • you scousers didnt catch on till about 91

  • swanny yea tit we were doin it in 87 88 the state dale st where it all began house train, yeke yeke nightwriters annette need i go on

  • Spot on lad. The underground, The state and The Cokey (Coconut Grove) were bangin' well before the Quad. Back into Tocky after the clubs for a fookin proper 'house party' shit goin' on in different rooms, a pound for a warmed up can o coke and the constant threat of a raid. Then the masses caught on and it all went tits up. Btw anyone remember Club 4 in Widnes?

  • remember it well the saterday night fever dance floor

  • It was still shit compared to The State though.

  • and sett end, monroes and tonys ballroom

  • I think you mean that you didn't catch on to what was happening in Liverpool until 91, swanny100. Quadrant Park was where we started going after the law shut the State and the Underground. As Windy says, by 91 it was pretty much played out as far as the original scene went, and was filled with tourists and predators taxing them for their dough.

  • Nice to hear from sone1 else used to go to the state! brilliant days 90/91 and even a bit later on the Monster Jam nights were good

  • your havin a laff, real and i mean real party people not bloody posers went the quad, that was the reason we lived in the eraly nineties, how dare you say it was shite, anyone who went for the right reasons, watch this and if you dont get goosepimples all over you then get yaself to cardiac at the hospital because you are dead. massive up to anyone who went the quad i dont believe in heaven because it was closed down

  • can't believe you got out off there with a video camera.bit dodgey down bootle way.fucking ace club though, peace scouse masiv

  • Bloody hell, can't believe it was 16 years ago! Still get tingles watching it. I used to stand on the railings behing the lighting pit - next to the djs! Awesome stuff. Am a respectible mummy now living 12,000 miles away - but what memories!

  • a wonder if old rosey queen of raves is still alive off her tits at 7o on proper echos ha ha they was the days

  • It was one hot gaff

  • wish id had my head together in those days to video the nights, fuck me,id be rich and famous now................

  • everything is shit in comparison now. fact

  • Keep coming back to this vid, it makes me wish I was scouse and about 5 years older, so I could have gone!!

Although the vid isnt that clear it ceratinly captures the atmosphere that used to be around in the early nineties!!! Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • Yeah Amazing times back in the early 90's, TIME MACHINE PLEASE!!!!

  • This place was the best club ive ever been to bar none!! i lived in here every weekend and i was devastated when it shut down, boss vid mate, nice lttle trip down memory lane that.

  • scouse power.............we rule

  • Some of the best days I've ever had were in that place & the all nighter from 2 till 8.. I can't explain what it was like.. You'll only know if you were there..

  • Please believe me, this place was the dog's b*llocks - I've never experienced anything like it since! Respect to all involved! Ex: Stafford Massive -- Nice One, Top One, Sorted! :-)

  • do you have any more quad vids?

  • why isn't life like this anymore? things were simple in them days. Go out get wrecked and dance. No moody people looking to kick off. Great days.

  • I remember walking in with me mate all dressed up with shirt and kecks and a gel head after I walked into the main dance floor the whole club was wearing shell suits, trainers and cat suits (girls). we looked like 2 nuns walking onto a nudist beach we sttod out that much.

  • Great days - our Hacienda.

  • bigger and better happier vibe than the hacienda.

    scarlet fantastic.

  • the record ist Clubland feat. Quartz - let´s get busy and it´s King Bee on the mic

  • That club looks on fire, wish I could have been there!!! Anyone know the track 4.30 mins, sounds a bit like King bee, please let me know somebody??
