  • a touching story i rescued a blue jay from a rose bush he was with us a long time he lost 1 of his eyes so he got the name 1 eyed willy

  • That's what happend to me my bro found my cockatiel being peeked to death and I loved her and named feline but few days before Easter she died and was verysick I miss her

  • It's good that her crest fully grew back. at the end, she didn't even look like she was hurt before(:

  • So how is little Beauty the cockatiel doing these days? I hope she's doing well. Cockies can live for a quite a while so I hope Beauty the 'Tiel sticks around a long time. :)

  • My male cockatiel has a injured wing and limps and im worried sick because no vets are open until monday:(Is there anything i can do ? PLEASE HELP ME!

  • So touching

  • my cockateil got hurt on his lower eye lid because of flying into the window blinds...his eye lid is now torn apart...i'm scared out of my wits for him,i took him to a vet,she did not try stitching it as it was not bleeding.please some one guide me here....i can't think right now because he means a lot to me.i think the vet was not that experienced with birds...it's his third day now.

  • @BennyJennyJ1 Ask your vet for some 'MAXITOL' eyedrops. They are excellent, I have used them many times on avian eye injuries. Apply one drop into eye in the morning, and one drop to eye in the evening. The drops should be stored below room temperature. Be sure not to let dropper come into contact with your birds eye, and if you miss the eye with the actual drop, simply apply another. Good luck! And dont be fobbed off, its NOT too late to treat ;) Treat 2 x daily for 7 days.

  • @AnnieBirdy yeah the vet did prescribe him some eye drops to prevent any infections...but what i'm concerned about is if the eye lid will ever grow back?because this bit of skin hanging on the side is eventually gonna dry out and fall off leaving the eye open at all times.plus his eye is at further risk with out a lid,do you think the vet made the right decision of not stitching the eye?thanks a lot for your reply.

  • @BennyJennyJ1 Hi again :) Even though an eyelid is damaged, your little bird will still have protection for her eye. Birds actualy have three eyelids, top, bottom, and one that moves across the eye from the side. I do think the vet made the right decision to be honest, with the lid being ripped, the edge would be frayed, and very, very fine. Stitches would most likely just rip straight through. The remaining 2 eyelids should do a good enough job protecting her eye :)

  • @AnnieBirdy thanks for replying! my bird has heeled a lot since then.his eye did not get infected or anything.he did get a little fever after a few days...but that passed away too,he is quite healthy and being is normal self.the eye is not bothering him at all.but he still has the lower water line missing.i'm still hoping that will grow back or something...but even if not,he is perfectly ok.lets pray he gets better day by day:)

  • you should be proud that you saved her

  • poor thing. its good you saved her. same thing happened to my dad, except it was a canary who a person beat up cruelly

  • So, what's wrong with that song by Diane Warwick & others?? It fits perfectly into Annie's theme of this video!! Bill in Florida, USA

  • aww it just shows after all that care she turned out too be a beautiful birdy again :}

  • i am watching this because my cockateal is dying.... =(

  • Beautiful story. Beautiful bird. :) And the cere grew back? I didn't know they could do that. Awesome. :) And WOW those crest feathers. They're taller than those of my own cockie, who is male and never been injured.

  • Nice job... music was HORRIBLE but really nice job with Beauty!

  • This bird is beautiful!

  • im wiping tears, bless you for taking care of beauty! she is gorgeous! my cockatiel charlie thinks she is pretty hot! he whistled while watchin the video, its so awesome to see such caring people like you! hope beauty is doin well and her lil budgie friend too!

  • She looks amazing! well done :) I love it when people are so caring

  • What an amazing story! Love and attention is what she needed. I know what it is like to have a cockatiel. They are wonderful pets. I recently lost mine in a recent death and miss him very much. I hope beauty lives a full long life.

  • I forgot to mention in my previous Post that I hope the little Budgie pal of Beauty is doing well, too. :)

  • I hope your little "Beauty" is continuing to do well. Cockatiels are amazing little birdies. They can add so much to your life. I know mine have. (I found one of my 2 'tiels in a grocery store parking lot, but he wasn't injured like your Beauty was). That was a very nice you and your friends did to nurse the 'Tiel back to health. :)

  • long live beauty!! how is beauty now? god bless beauty!

  • long live beauty!! how is beauty now? god bless beauty!

  • see what love can do?

  • Oh what a beauty cockatiels are my cockatiel was bleeding a bit today but is fine.

We all thank you for being such a kind and caring person for looking after this cockatiel instead of a heartless person that would leave that beautiful cockatiel.

    THANK YOU!! =]

  • I watched this with my teil Misty, she semed to be watching intently, at the end Misty picked the tears of my cheeks :*) I love teils

  • I watched this with my cockatiel on my shoulder :')

  • Oh isn't she beautiful :-)

  • It appears someone threw her out a moving car. :( but from the looks of things now the bird probably has a better life then her old dead beat owner

  • Do you still have her? She's absolutely gorgeous. I never would have known that she was injured so badly or at all. I love birds so much. I would like to rescue a cockatiel from a shelter someday. There are so many that don't have a good home.

  • In a world full of hate and bad news, It was nice to see this end up happily. Our male is 19 this year, They are great little birds and companions.

  • Oh, yes, bird looks so happy in the end.. i'm so glad that she have so cool friends and so much love from all who care abouth her when she really needed help..)))

  • What a beautiful friendship story -

  • such a lovely story!!! glad shes ok!

  • This made me cry.... I had a cockatiel as a child that i had to give up. She is now 15 years old! Living with a family member. I love these birds and how I miss her so!

  • haha he grew is hair back!!!!

  • She's beautiful. Good story!

  • This story can prove even the most nastiest wounds, physically or mentally, can be healed eventually with some love and friends.

  • @OldSkoolgamerz They certainly can :o)

  • I cried when the video started I was like "Awww...she's hurt! How did this happen to her?!" then as you showed her with a little friend (the parakeet) she seemed to look better and started healing more and more, then near the end that was pure beauty she got ALL her feathers back, even the ones on her head which look really long and beautiful! I'm glad that she found the will to live and stay strong for you, I will pray so that she stays strong. :)

  • the poor baby

  • People that think it's cruel to clip wings should see this video and what can happen to them if they accidentally fly away. I cried. Beauty is a perfect name for this little cutie.

  • how did she get them i and im sorry for you :(

  • you are a great frend to her to take her in and careing for her and loving her

  • Hi Anniebirdy! Thank u for sharing your love of God's creatures!

  • sooooo sad it make mee crie

  • Thanks Josh, but dont worry, she is fully healed and well again now :-)

  • wow, this is so sweet, it almost made me cry.

  • Thankyou for caring!

  • she was probably one who got away from her owners, they just dont know how to take care of themselves out there! and wild birds can be quite mean to birds like this

  • She had wounds that could well have been beak marks Elaine, she was in a terrible mess, but thank God she was strong and wanted to live!

  • Poor bird. I have two tiels and I don't know what I'd do if anything like that happened to them. Beauty is such a pretty bird and I am happy that she is doing well.

  • awwie poor beauty i cried cause i have a cockatiel and i know how much u love them

  • Thankyou, I love them with all my heart <3

  • THAT SUCH A HEARTBREAKING STORY!

  • In many ways it is heartbreaking because of how hurt she was, but I also found it heartwarming how many people went out of their way to help this little bird. Something you dont often see in the world of rescue.

  • you are amazing thankyou for sharing her wonderful story

  • that is so sweet imy tie flew away i feared the worst and agianst all odds my 3 month old tiel made it thourgh the winters night to be found and returned to his loving home this movie moved me to tears thank god for sweet people like you

  • That is wonderful news Dan, am so glad your precious friend made it home safely!

  • thanks he is doing fine with no damage what so ever

  • Absolutely amazing, you did such a wonderful job! :-) She is beautiful!

  • Thankyou for your kind words!

  • Hi Stuntboys, thankyou for your lovely comments. Are you refering to the large playgym towards end of video? If so, I made it myself, so easy too! I bought a traditional wooden clothes airer from Argos for 12.99, added toys, ladders etc that were spares lying around, and Voila, a fab, huge playgym for a tiny fraction of the price that you could buy one for!

  • i dont understand how anybody could do such a thing to such a prestigious animal, its good to see that she fully recoverd.

  • at 1:09 she looks happy look at her peck :)

  • She looks like she is smiling dosent she!

  • if she still alive?

  • She certainly is! She is fit, happy, and healthy!

  • Does anyone know how to check for a broken blood feather? My cocatiels had a night fright this morning, and they seem ok 8 hrs later. they are flying ok, and eating. they do not like to be held in the wing clip position

  • Hi Pattycakes, if a bird has a broken bloodfeather, you will normally see quite a lot of blood. If this happens, and you are not experienced in dealing with medical emergencies, you need to get the bird to a vet as fast as possible to have the feather professionally pulled. If there is no blood, theres very little chance of a blood feather being damaged. To help prevent nightfrights, its a good idea to leave a very low wattage lamp on at night so the bird is never totally in pitch dark.

  • My little Steve flew away a couple months ago when my sister open the cage the feed his family. I miss my cute little tiel. He loved eating cheerios. I put up missing flyers but no one replied. I hope someone found Steve and gave him a good home.

  • this past Saturday our cockateil Mrs. Peaches flew out the sliding glass door . My 10 yr. old was devastated. A terrible rainstorm ensued that night. 2 days later, a neighbor found her at the bus stop being harassed by crows . The neighbor had a vague idea that we had a bird and brought her to our next door neighbor's house. They were waiting for us when we returned from synagogue on Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the year.

  • What a wonderful ending to a story that could have been so tragic Izsegelman! Thankyou for sharing that, its so nice to read something with such a happy end to it!

    Annie

  • This is one of the most touching stories-I think that you're ASSURED a place in heaven.

  • Thankyou cockatiel 2007. Im not sure which direction I will head in when I pop my clogs, but so long as I can carry on helping the birds until I do, I will die happy :-)

  • yea sniff sinff

  • aww that brought me to tears. glad you found her!!

  • my goodness thank God you happened to pass by...and my goodness its nice to see another soul like me that will stop to hurt an injured animal!! oh shes a lucky birdy to haev youuu

  • Oh wow! What a lovely rescue story! Beauty is absolutely GORGEOUS! Thank you for taking care of her. Do you still have her?

  • hello my lovely friend! yes, beauty's story does have a rare and wonderful touch to it, so many people cared! Beauty paired up with another rescue tiel that I had, but due to my lung problems, I am rarely able to keep a bird, in fact I shouldnt go near them! However, i am carefull and very choosy where they go when I adopt out, and Beauty and her soulmate Tumble now have a wonderful home, large indoor/outdoor aviary, and are in the loving care of a veterinary nurse xx

  • That is a perfect ending for Beauty and Tumble. I feel so happy that you are able to rescue these birds, but I feel sad that you have a lung problem.

    Prayers and blessings to you,

    Linda K

  • you should make a disney movie out of that story.

The Adventures of Beauty and Tumble =]

beautiful story. great job. that made me smile and pikachu (my tiel) looks just like beauty =].

    nice job.

  • I know you meant to hit the reply on AnnieBirdy, but you hit the reply on mine. By the way, I like your comment about making a Disney movie.

  • the beauty is you, you save his/her life~

  • *sigh* what a touching story...

  • Beauty did indeed pair up with another rescued cockatiel who came my way, Tumble. They are now a bonded couple, married in all but legalities!

  • this is a really moving story and Im so glad Beauty is ok now and her feathers look lovely now!

  • Thankyou Suzy. You would never know now to look at her that she had been so badly torn up. She is a cheeky girl, full of fun and likes her own way all the time, lol!

  • omg i almost cried! :( I have a cockatiel too. This is so touching!

  • Cockatiels are lovely arnt they zairemuse! Beauty was so blessed in that everyone who's path she crossed took time to help her. Not one person turned away. Such a rare thing these days!

  • Nice editing, great story!

  • Hi there, thankyou! Ive a long way to go before my vids are as polished and professional as yours, but so long as they can get people to look at birds with more compassion and understanding, then I guess thats enough for now. I'll never be a James cameron, lol!

  • tear. touching story. that really got me deep inside. im gonna go give some extra time to my cockatiel. by that, i mean all if it. well. it goes beyond that too. if only evry1 was this caring. well. the best we can do is all be like this ourselves. thx for posting and 4 taking care of this cute litle 'tiel!

  • Thankyou headintheclouds for a lovely comment. It means a lot to me that people are really touched by the plight of some of the birds that have been in my care. Its good to know the birds matter to say many other people!

  • Touching story.

  • LOVE really does heal all wounds. Beautiful story.

  • that's really touching and beautiful!!! thanks for this!

  • Thankyou so much Honeycomb888 and 9teeneighty8 :-) What I love most about all of this is that instead of being there at the end of a long line of abuse, for once I was there at then end of a long line of kindness and love. Such a special feeling for a rescuer, any rescuer. Beauty now has a boyfriend! he is another rescue, tired and thin when found, with a bit of an infection, but otherwise OK. He is now fit and strong, but from observation, I would say it's Beauty who wears the trousers :-D

  • That was a very touching video. Bless you and everyone involved with taking care of Beauty. I'm glad she's doing better.

  • Thankyou everyone for your kind comments on Beauty's journey. It realy is so nice to know that her recovery was down to the care of many people, none of whom knew her, but all wanted to help. Perhaps we just happen to hear too much about the bad in the world, and not enough about the good. The good is there, as beauty's story shows.

    In happiness,

    Annie x

  • i have a question... where do you live in wat state

  • Hi Salhugga, I live in the UK

  • oh because my brother let my cockatiel out and it flew away... but u live far far from virginia so i doubt thats mine :/ but its good that your caring for it

  • I watched this video with tears in my eyes all the way through. Thank God someone picked this little Beauty up and found help for her in the way of very loving people. Thank you for being there for this precious cockatiel. I agree.....the world needs more caring people like this.

  • Thanks for the video, beautiful. Thank God she recovered.

  • Oh Annie, it's hard to believe that such a badly injured bird could survive....love had a lot to do with it, and patience. Thank you for the wonderful video.

  • That's a REAL LOVE STORY!!! Words could never explain the mix of feelings I had watching this video. The world needs people like these! All of you who rescued and cared for Beauty are amazing people!!! She really healed, not only in body, but in her soul as well! She's splendid!
