because there are holes for water leaks from the window to run down that panel and out the bottom side and he said putting the mat on would trap the water and cause it to rust, and that this is true for any panel with a window above it, is he right?
when i went to sound deaden the hatch of my 01 cherokee, my dad who has been in the automotive business all his life (also used to do body work) told me not to put the dampening mat on the inner most layer of the metal of the hatch (the sheet that composes the actually exterior body)
@07RedRider400 hes right too. say you dent your door and have to fix it, that deadskin (dynomat) will cause the repair to be much harder, and wasted time and effort.
to be fairly honest deadskin (or dynomat) is sold to people who aren't very savvy. I don't care if its a new car, or an old one, dynomat is only good for one thing, stopping rattle from people who like too much bass. door speakers shouldn't be handling anything under 120hz anyway, so its not needed on the doors.....
thanks for the tip
