@wa22030 Nothing personal- but 1 bullet in a Merlin cooling system and its all over! Except for "being the first" to take a bomber all the way to Berlin because of a Merlin-power addition doesn't justify "the best airplane of world war two"- give me the A-26, P-47 or F4-U Corsair in combat! They have speed, maneuverability, firepower and most importantly, engines with SURVIVABILITY!
I don't have the aircraft or engine knowledge to comment on your assertions, my assumptions would be that sometimes you need a ferrari and sometimes an F150. I'm just glad were not all blonde German speakers.
I saw a firefighter version of one of these take off up close near a small town in BC, years ago. Man, was that impressive: a short runway made of a chunk of bypassed old highway that ended at a river; the plane at the far end, bucking against the brakes as the props became glass discs, and then with a roar that should the ground, it shot past me and banked up the mountainside. It dropped a load of red mud in a 45 degree climb and headed off for refueling at the city airport 80 miles away. Wow!
gotta love P&W Radials.... Unlike that Mustang-Merlin-British crap- Pratts are 100 percent AMERICAN kick-in-your butt power!!!!

@wa22030 Then why do you list your country as "US" on your youtube profile??

Because I live in Seattle? I'm not really sure I listed anything either, I think youtube assumed.
