@medcsu Perhaps, but a crime does not justify a punishment to a crime. To kill to prove killing is wrong defeats the purpose. To give into hate and fear is to become that which we are against. Crimes as the penalty of a crime, does nothing to show that the crime was wrong, just warps the reality and allows us to justify the reacting crimes. A crime is just that, a crime. And thus must be handled as objectivly as the first one, if not worse to show that you can't break the laws.

Crimes as the penalty of a crime, does nothing to show that the crime was wrong, just warps the reality and allows us to justify the reacting crimes. A crime is just that, a crime. And thus must be handled as objectivly as the first one, if not worse to show that you can't break the laws.

I do wish this movie had said exactly what the boys did. What those boys did shows how ridiculous their charges were. It definitely wasn't manslaughter or murder in the second degree. When you leave the house after beating somebody then come back with pick axes and shovels that's obvious, premeditated attempt to kill. Edward was wrong to trick people into thing that he was female. Eventhough he felt like a female, he wasn't. He didn't even take the hormones or have the proper surgery to be considered a female. The men were wrong for brutalizing and murdering Edward, regardless of what he did. Edward should've frequented the gay club to find men who would accept him as a transvestite, instead of tricking hetersexual males.
