It sounds like life on the set was very loose and laid back, and Janet preferred a more structured, disciplined set. She was assertive and professional, and had the courage to stand up for herself. It sounds like she had to work hard to make Viv a strong woman, and they undid all of that when Daphne Maxwell Reid took over the part.
I wonder about the whole "read through"situations and Will not taking it serious, because the producer said Will had a habit of knowing EVERYONE's lines, they said it used to actually piss some of the cast members off, maby that's what she was talking about.

My sis told me she was going to be on 'Life After', so I was looking forward to seeing this show until I watched these clips. So disheartening...I heard rumors about what was going on behind the scenes, but I didn't know after 20 freakin' years she would still be in my opinion, bitter... People have changed, times have changed, Will has changed. He's 40 something year's old now with a beautiful family and a successful career. I enjoyed Janet has the aunt---I belive she was the person for that character---I did not like the new replacement-----------The thing is ( Our world does not care about others, in no form------Money and power is the respect-----anything offered outside of that is not heard------ Good luck and prosperity to Janet Hubert ( you are also beautiful !!!!!

My sis told me she was going to be on 'Life After', so I was looking forward to seeing this show until I watched these clips. So disheartening...I heard rumors about what was going on behind the scenes, but I didn't know after 20 freakin' years she would still be in my opinion, bitter... People have changed, times have changed, Will has changed. He's 40 something year's old now with a beautiful family and a successful career. So why bring up old sh-t and rehash bad memories from 20 years ago?

I never even knew what the new Vivian's real name was. She must have been friends with somebody to get that role 'cause she couldn't act to save her life. She tried hard (too hard), but failed. Janet just had "it" - she was dignified, but would take her earrings off quick if need be

@vorlonspider I'm not Daphne was a bad actress...loved her on FRANK'S PLACE, but as far as characterization and acting, Janet had it hands down. Janet has ADMITTED that she was under alot of personal problems during season 3 (high-risk pregnancy, failing marriage, mood swings, etc.) Will DID do her wrong and admitted it in EBONY several years ago that the show wasn't the same without her.

It amazes me these comments you people make on a clip, you are really stupid to think it was all sugar and spice. Look at will promoting his children and his wife, Producing stuff for his own family and no one else. I personally hate rap music and think it is the downfall of our race and children. Just the sound of it coming up the street. Hate it too.

@kinkygirley I don't mind him producing stuff for his family as long as he keep's making good project's like 'The karate Kid' movie he produced for his son Jaden. Which was fantastic!...I don't see any white producer's or directors creating any roles for black children or women. So us black's have to do it for ourselves and if he's just hiring his family at this time, WTF do I care?! I can see if I was an actress trying to get in one of his productions...Family business...family first.
