k hows this for reasonable. Listen to a record called Black Sails In The Sunset by a lil band named AFI. If u play music, even if u dont, ur prob gonna go "oh wow, those awkward changes in the riffs, those badass pickscrapes over the transition..." etc, etc. At the same time one could argue "o AFI is just a Misfits rip with Black Flag sensibilities and a Smiths influence"... much like how ppl argue over whats punk and whats not. If you're debating whats punk on youtube....
